Veterinary Orthopedic & Sports - Sherman Cnanapp Our purpose is to push the edge of veterinary medicine by exploring ideas, creating new solutions, inspiring fellow innovators, and teaching the next generation of veterinary leaders. VOSM treats thousands of orthopedic patients every year, more than a third of them coming to us from other states and abroad. Our specialists are actively engaged in teaching, clinical research, lecturing, publishing, and instructing other board-certified surgeons. That's one of the reasons VOSM is the place veterinarians bring their own pets for advanced orthopedic care.

VOSM staff were extremely knowledgeable and thorough and also great at interacting with my anxious boy and letting him get used to them before taking him back for examination and X-rays. They explained clearly what they were going to try to do, including what they would wait to do until we could schedule a time with sedation if he became too anxious. Due to their gentle approach he stayed calm with them and they were able to do their full exam!

Dr. Knapp figured out my dogs issues within minutes, had a plan, and implemented it. He had surgeries on his elbow, shoulder and scapula utilizing Stem Cell Therapies, so it was extensive. After months of healing and rehab, my dog was able to get back into field trials without any problems. I highly recommend VOSM

This an excellent specialty practice. Every detail is designed for the comfort of the pet and owner. I've never been in a clinic setting so carefully and thoughtfully designed. My standard poodle received excellent care there while recovering from iliopsoas injury.

Veterinary Orthopedic and Sports Medicine is a great place. Staff is very caring and they took wonderful of our dog, diagnosing her problem and referring us to a doctor who could take care of the medicine that she needed.

We've had 2 dogs go through a total of 3 TPLO procedures. The results were incredible, complete recovery in both dogs. The doctors and staff were all friendly and professional. I have referred friends to VOSM and they were also very pleased with the outcomes.

We were referred to VOSM for an orthopedic assessment of our dear aging pug. We were able to get an appointment very quickly, our veterinarian was extremely knowledgable, and we were able to resolve her issues so quickly. The entire team was welcoming, caring, and our girl is still doing well!

We traveled from Richmond VA to come to VOSM upon the recommendation of several friends. It was about three hours from us but it was totally worth it. They were all extremely kind to my sweet girl and Dr. Majeski took her time explaining our surgical options at length. I never once felt rushed through our consultation. We will be seeing them again soon for our big surgery day.

VOSM exceeded our expectations from day one. Our dog Lily had surgery on both front legs and we traveled from 6 hours away. They were extremely informative, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable every step of the way. The facility is awesome and in a good, safe location. They are good communicators and set clear expectations before, during, and after surgery. We were happy we made the drive to give our dog the best care possible. Thank you VOSM team!

Had my initial visit with Dr. Gallagher who did an very thorough exam of Cappy, my 5 year old Clumber Spaniel. It was confirmed through the exam and review of X-rays that he has indications of IVDD. Fortunately it is not severe and we plan to manage his condition conservatively with meds. There was no pressure to immediately go for more expensive diagnostic and treatment options. Dr. Gallagher and staff, Alexis, spent almost 2 hours with us reviewing findings and options for care and treatment.

I can’t express how grateful I was for the quality of care and treatment plans. I am very thankful to my tracking enthusiasts for recommending this practice. It was a 3 hour trip to get there, but worth the effort.

We traveled 4 hours and visited VOSM for a hip dysplasia rehab consultation for our 10 mo puppy. Prior to arrival, our home vet told us our girl was in need of a total hip replacement and without surgery had maybe a year to live before needing to be put down. Within 5 mins of speaking with the tech, Jeff, he had our minds at ease. From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff was so compassionate and welcoming.

We met Dr. Flood, and I probably cried a few times from being overwhelmed with relief. Their patience and care towards our timid rescue spoke volumes. We normally have to muzzle our pup when at the vet, but they didn’t need it at all here. I recommend VOSM fully. I gib them pork rib 25/10!!

VOSM treated my dog and I as if we were family. Communication was excellent before, during, and after Bella's surgery. They gave us a sense of confidence throughout the entire journey. We know where to bring our dogs in the future and hopefully we don't need to!

I don’t recommend this facility. My dog had surgery and was put on a medicine that needs to be used with monitoring, if at all, when the dog has a history of stomach bleeding. I was not informed of any risks and no monitoring was done by the professionals. My dog ended up with internal bleeding and required several blood transfusions, as well as fluids, medications, and several days at an emergency hospital in order to save his life.

They took no responsibility whatsoever. I spent a lot of money in their facility to get my dog’s limp better for them to take no care in regards to recovery. I’m not a doctor. I paid money to get professional help with my dog and expected them to use good judgement and take necessary steps to keep my dog alive. I literally almost lost my best friend because of their lack of care. I will be retaining council to assist me with the matter now since playing nice and simply asking for therapy that he still needs to be covered got me nowhere.

Great job getting my dog back to health after he tore his ACL. We just went on a 5 mile run the other day. So nice to have my running buddy back!
