At Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital, we provide top-quality veterinary care to pets in Parrish and Sarasota, FL. As pet owners ourselves, we believe that preventative care with wellness exams are the keys to your pet living a longer, healthier, and happier life. As a full-service veterinary office, we offer state-of-the-art testing and diagnostics, routine and advanced surgical procedures, comfortable pet boarding, dog and cat grooming, and many other specialties and services to provide your pet with the best possible care.
Regular nose-to-tail wellness exams, early detection, and age-specific assessments help keep your pet healthy. Many animals are good at hiding signs that something is wrong, so subtle changes in their health or behavior might be overlooked without preventive care. At Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital, our treatment philosophy is aimed at prevention with early diagnosis and treatment.
Early detection using diagnostic testing provides a complete picture of your pet's health, improving outcomes, and providing baseline results. Our staff is committed to helping you get a full picture of your pet's health through laboratory and diagnostic testing. Annual blood testing helps us determine a normal baseline for your pet.
Our experienced veterinary team provides comprehensive medical care, ranging from routine to advanced procedures and treatments. Although we handle the majority of your pet's medical and surgical needs in-house, we occasionally refer patients to veterinary specialists or specialty clinics when advanced training or equipment will be beneficial.

My sweet pup had a nasty infection in a wound on her hind quarter that the team at Dr Nina's handled beautifully! I could not have chosen a more professional capable veterinarian office to bring her to. She is very hyper and protective but this team knew exactly how to handle my pup with loving care. I highly recommend Dr Nina's Animal Hospital to all who care about their sweet four legged family members

I appreciate the response. However, the extreme rudeness from Nicole was never addressed. She did not seem concerned or sympathetic at all that my dog was sick. I understand being busy but there is absolutely a better way to handle it. If Deedee would like to reach out to me she can as I would assume you would like feedback on the way your employees treat customers.

By far the worst vet in all of Florida. Any time there is an emergency they are booked and can not help your pet. The receptionist Nicole is extremely rude and should be fired for the way she talks to customers. My dog is having a medical emergency and instead of being caring and compassionate she basically said it is not their problem. We have been going to the Parrish one for years which was better and switched to Sarasota because we moved. Dr. Ninas has lost our business and we will spread the word. Also reporting them to the BB.

Had an appt. At 9:00 with my 2 pups and waited for 25 minutes inside my car for them to come out. I called and the receptionist said they have a full house and I only saw 3 cars including mine. She was not even apologetic but instead gave me a rude vibe over the phone. I believe her name is Amanda and the lady that came out her name is Nicole. They must hate their job.
Second time there and I'm not coming back. Also, I stayed in the car waiting. while I saw another owner coming out from the building with her dog. anyway, that's my experience.

Thank you all so much again for keeping my furbabies healthy! I recently rescued a cat and didn't expect to have to spend so much money on her right away, but she needed it. They not only understood but discounted some of the services so I didn't go over what I could afford. My rescue is so much happier and comfortable. Thank you guys again for looking at the compassionate side of things and not just the money part!

Dr. Luna and her vet tech were so nice, we just moved here from east coast of Florida and need to get our kitten spayed and chipped. Our kitten Trixie is going for her surgery this week and was not scared during her pre-surgery visit. We will be bringing our other two cats in the future, worth the extra drive for us from Parrish!

Compassionate, professional and ethical are words I would use for Dr. Ninas. My dog is an old timer. Who has aging issues. They care for my dog with love and advise what they could do for him. They say what they believe the problem is.and why. And that they could run expensive test to be sure of diagnosis.but that it isn't necessary to do so. This office offers me the option to treat him.
I moved here with my aging dog 7 yrs ago. Each of the Vets and the wonderful staff who have treated Izzy (my dog) have been kind and made caring for him affordable. My dog is 16 yes old now. I believe Dr. Nina's has help me be the best dog parent!

I filled out the new patient form online (over the weekend) and was able to be seen first thing Monday morning. Dr. Monica Luna was patient, kind and acted with urgency to help our precious dog. Her communication was terrific and made me feel at ease during my dogs examination and diagnosis. I would highly recommend this veterinary animal hospital for all services your pet may need!

I have never had a groomer that actually came out to see me and ask me what I would like to be done with my dog. She was very nice and she listened to me on what I would like to be done. She even called me to let me know when he was ready to be picked e. She did a wonderful job and my dog Spencer was very happy and he looked so handsome.

Took my dog here last minute when my own vet had no room to take us. He had swelling in his neck area and it concerned me and I didn't think I should wait. Nina's answered their phone right away, happy friendly, and available. They took me within 30 minutes of my call. Their system is great- I filled out the paperwork and was in a room within 10 minutes. Tech took vitals and the Vet was in the room within 5 minutes.
He examined my dog and we were able to determine the swelling was likely nothing serious, perhaps a bee sting and just some Benadryl would take care if it. I was very impressed with this place. They took my dog last minute, no questions asked. We were in and out and relieved. I would HIGHLY recommend Nina's as a full time vet for your pet, but also, in an emergency situation this place is fantastic, so long as it's during their business hours. Oh, and only $65 for the whole thing!

We have a new Australian Cattle Dog (blue heeler) puppy, Xena and had not yet obtained a vetinarian but she had her puppy shots at Tractor Supply and then she got really bad diarreah Tested positive for hook worms. I called the vet clinic and they said she will be due for her next deworm in a week. I asked if that's all I needed to do and they said yes.
Well apparently that's not the answer they should have given because hookworms can be lethal to a puppy. Well the diarreah became so bad that it then contained blood and she stopped eating We looked up Dr. Nina's because it was only a mile down the road and had great reviews. They were able to get us an appt that same day because of it being an emergency.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. Got us right back to do testing. Dr Torres was the vet that cared for her. So our puppy indeed tested for hook worm and it was very escalated. She gave us all the medications needed. The vet bill was in line of what office charges are elsewhere. We were quoted a price over the phone and once the diagnosis came in and all the symptoms we said she had, there was medication ordered.
A slight upcharge from quote but not sticker shock. Today, I had a few questions relating to Xena, Amanda was on phone, took down our concerns to address with the doctor. We also got a quote for a future soay. Now that was sticker shock compared to other vets. So we will seek that care elsewhere. But will definitely bring our puppy here for future care. A very good first experience.

We LOVE Dr Nina's. The staff is so friendly and professional and the drs have talked me off a cliff. I have a frenchie that needed emergency surgery and they helped me and walked me through it all. It even cost me less than I was told at another clinic! We've taken all our dogs here and will continue to because of the love and care they have and have always given our pups!

I saw Dr. Mcnamee as a second opinion for my 2 guinea pig boys and I'm glad I did. Dr. Mcnamee was compassionate & caring while thoroughly evaluating both my boys. She listened to my concerns & wasn't afraid to admit she wasn't sure how to properly diagnose one of my boys. She listened to what illness I thought he has (I am an educated woman although I didn't let her know I'm an RN & I have a medical background) & she said she'll check her resources and call me in 3 days when test results are in.
On the 3rd day I received a call as promised with a proper diagnosis, treatment plans, and she even emailed me information on a high vitamin C diet specifically for guinea pigs. I am so happy I chose to bring my guinea pigs to Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital! The entire staff was friendly, attentive & fantastic. Dr. Mcnamee went above & beyond for my fur babies. I highly recommend her & Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital.

Please read this before you go with your pet to this vet. I took my dog to Dr Nina's to get an answer to a big swollen fistbig thing on my dogs leg. They gave me antibiotics for her and sent cells to the laboratory. First they said they think it's an abscess but weren't sure about some cells they saw so that's why they sent those "unsure" cells to the laboratory.
So while I'm sitting there not knowing if my dog has cancer or what exactly is going on, they're trying to sell me a monthly wellness plan (over 50$) and a dental cleaning (they said around 400$). At the end of the week they called me to give me the results of the laboratory tests. No cancer! I felt so relieved. After two weeks the swelling was not getting better and my dog started to lick the swollen area to the point where it started bleeding.
I did everything they told me to do at dr ninas but the swelling didn't go away instead it grew bigger. So I trieto go to another vet today, and I cannot tell you how shocked I am. My dog has cancer. It's a really aggressive type, and it looks like they have to amputate my dogs leg to save her life. And now I'm asking you, how did they not see that my dog has cancer cells in this big fat swollen thing on my dogs leg?
I have no idea. The only thing I know is that it could have saved me 2weeks in which I could have handled the problem sooner. They don't care about your pet. They just wanna get money out of you. It's so shocking. I would never ever go back there!

I want to thank Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital for working with local pet owners to get very important blood tests done. Some other vets were overcharging by the hundreds to pull blood to test taurine levels. With less than 24 hours notice, Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital got us in, pulled the blood and we packed it up and overnighted it to the lab for a fraction of what some other local vets were charging. THANK YOU!

All they care about is running tests to run up your bill. instead of a loved family member my dog was treated like an ATM machine. no matter how sick my baby got they never showed any empathy or caring. I changed vets and couldn't be happier with how fast my new vet figured out what was almost killing my dog
