I put in a legitimate complaint about my dog's care/vet and they dropped him as a patient. Completely ignored my complaint then told me that their vet is "very talented" and if I didn't like the care, they'd be happy to transfer my pets records elsewhere. Been going here for 4 years, so disappointed.

Be aware that the deposit they ask for when scheduling over the phone is non-refundable under any circumstances. I had scheduled an appointment for my dog to be checked for some issues he was having and got an appointment about a week and a half out. I was able to get him seen elsewhere sooner as I was wanting to get him help ASAP, but when I called to cancel his appointment 5 days before the scheduled appointment they informed me the appointment deposit will not be refunded even with advance cancellation notice and no services rendered.

I can't speak highly enough of High Plains. I wish I had found them sooner. They've been absolutely amazing to my two senior dogs who've now crossed the rainbow bridge. If (ok, when) I rescue more dogs, I will most definitely be returning here. Dr. Bizzul is absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for all you did for my Lulu and Lucy and the kindness, compassion, and support you showed during the tough times we faced. It will most certainly not be forgotten.

Treated my wife and kitten very poorly, and made my wife freak out after the surgery when she called concerned about a large lump on our kittens back. They said " O that doesn't sound right, bring her back in" mind you this is the second time in the same day after being spayed we had to bring her back to the vet just to be told it's a clot of blood stuck to her fur.
Very discouraging to hear being these people are supposed to be professionals. I would assume as patients they look them over like any medical personnel would with their patients and make sure they are in good shape to go home.

Last week Rocky our Golden had to be put to sleep. Rocky was family to us and the most-loving dog you would ever meet. He was 12 years old, a senior, and lived a full loving life. But for selfish reasons, we did not want to let him go but it was the right thing to do. The staff did everything they could to help us through that difficult time. We don't wish this moment on anyone but if you need this type of support for your pet, highly recommend High Plains Veterinary Hospital James and Christine Lesney

Highly recommended small animal practice. I'm a credentialed technician and appreciate their protocols and practices. All of our dogs and cats have gone here for years for routine and advanced appointments and procedures. I recommend them to all of my friends with cats and dogs. They do see some exotics and have handled basic exotics appointments well for us but I would not personally consider them a specialized practice if you need a primary vet for a bird/herp currently.

Called on Saturday morning, to see about taking our 4 year old Teddy Bear in, to have them check her leg, she was not walking on it, possible broken leg? They told me to take it to the Powers Emergency, since they would not be able to see her until TUESDAY! That is total BS, and we WILL be looking for a NEW vet! Stay away!

I have constantly owned a dog for the past 25 years so I've gotten to know many veterinarians and I've been to multiple offices across the country during that time. None of them have compared to my experience with Dr. Bizzul and the staff at High Plains. 3 years ago, they diagnosed my sweet(but feisty!) little dog with renal disease. Every single time I ever needed anything they responded right away.
No matter what the need was, big or small. They were always so kind and helpful. They've shown me in multiple ways that they all truly care about their patients. I got to know Dr. Bizzul this past spring. She was always professional, thoughtful and very honest with her opinions when it came to treating my dog. She always took the time to fully answer any questions that I had, even if we had already been on the phone for a while.
She never made our conversations feel rushed. Unfortunately, my little fighter had to be put down on Friday. The love that the staff and Dr. Bizzul showed to me was so comforting. I've had to put many dogs down, but I've never had staff or a veterinarian cry with me during the process. This office is so very special and they always made me feel so supported. I highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you, High Plains for always being there for me.

Dr Bizzal and her coworkers were extremely helpful and took time with our dog Penny. I had some concerns and being new in town wasn't sure the kind of clinic it would be although previous reviews had narrowed my search. Although it was only a teeth cleaning Dr. Bizzal was patient explaining everything, before leaving went over cost and post op instructions. Penny ended up needing two teeth extracted but now has fresh breath and white teeth! We couldn't be happier, thanks Dr. Bizzal and the staff at High Plains. Cory Scheuerman/ James Conlon

Recently moved here and took both dogs to see Dr. Bizzul. Both my fur babies and I loved the staff and Dr. Bizzul! Dr called with follow up lab work and took her time explaining the results. She also listened to my questions and gave good suggestions with a plan in future if needed for my senior dog. This is important to me because I try to be diligent and involved in my pets healthcare so want to feel confident and trusting in the veterinarian I take them to. I'm happy to say that I have found that here in this clinic.
The front staff was very welcoming and happy to see my dogs which made me feel comfortable. My puppy, especially loves her vet visits! She thinks it's an excursion. Thank you and looking forward to your continued quality care.

I couldn't be happier with High Plains. They helped our family through a very traumatic four month period last year when our three Mill Dog Rescue pups passed away, one from old age and all from chronic health issues. The staff were very attentive to our concerns for each pup and appropriate medical studies were done that helped us make very difficult decisions for each one.
The staff couldn't have been kinder or more concerned for us as clients and for our pups. Our little Yorkie had an eye issue recently and needed to be seen. We were able to take her in the same day and I am happy to say she is doing much better. We have seen most of the vets at the hospital and are very happy with their care. Dr. McKenney deserves kudos for hiring well educated and caring vets. We highly recommend High Plains.

We took our dog in for an annual visit and shots. Everyone was pleasant to work with. Dr. Dart was very kind and efficient. She explained all of the shots needed and why. She gave great advice. From check in to check out, were done within 30 minutes. I also felt that their prices were fair and reasonable. The office is very nice and clean.

They have been my vet since I moved to the Springs. I made an appointment weeks ago for a very time sensitive travel certificate. I reconfirmed the appointment 3 days ago. I went in today and was told they don't do the travel certificates. Now I am faced with finding a solution today or not travelling with my dog. Apparently they arent licensed, as they say that is why they can't do the certificate. Do not trust an unlicensed vet!

Everyone here is wonderful from the front desk staff to the doctors. We felt welcomed from the minute we walked through the door. My dog is shy and timid and everyone spoiled her with treats and attention and made her visit so special. She is going to love this place as much as we do. Dr. Leyman is outstanding. She even followed up with a phone call checking in on our dog after she finished her ear medication. We will definitely be back and recommend this wonderful, caring practice to everyone we know.

Best vet! I never am left waiting, they are all friendly and the prices can't be beat. I will never go elsewhere. They even put my pups picture on the paperwork and the handy reminder postcards they mail when he is due for an appointment! Absolutely wonderful place. Convenient and clean! The Vets always take their time to warm the dog up to them first. Go here! You be disappointed.

Surprisingly, I had no problems with the front desk associates. Vets are nice. My first experience was perfect. Second time, I felt a little sketchy. The first time my pup got his shots, it was done inside of the room with me. That being said, the second visit (which was a year later), the vet took my dog out of the room for the shots and told me to wait inside the room.
Being that my visit was roughly $150, I expect to see my dog receiving his shots. I still cannot understand why I would have to wait in a room without my pet while he receives his vaccination. Looking at other reviews shows that other customers have noticed this as well. When it comes to my best friend (Koda), I expect to take him somewhere where I don't question the organizations integrity. Sadly, based off other reviews and my personal experience with my last visit, I will no longer be doing business with High Plains. Please explain why the animals need to be taken outside of the room and away from their owners to receive their vaccinations.

This vet office is amazing. I came here after going to a previous vet for 8 + years with two diabetic cats. The vet office I was going to had a change of ownership and I felt it was time to move on. I was very nervous. My cats have all kinds of medical stuff going on. I brought all their records with me and showed up and talked to the front office who set me up with an appointment with one of their vets.
When I came in for my appointment I saw Dr Becker who had clearly read through all their records thoroughly. She went over everything with me. Almost a year later I am still extremely happy with her. I was nervous about going to a vet office that had multiple vets but I just ask for her and make sure I have an appointment with her specifically. All the vets there have access to files and can help me though if I need and she is not available.
They were able to help me order special medicine for one of my cats as well since their medication provider didn't have it. They even order my cats diabetic food for me since they sell a different brand. Really it was a great transition. Having two cats that have a lot going on with them has been no problem to Dr Becker. It is a larger clinic so I don't know all the staff (techs, front office, vets) like I did at the old vet office but everyone is still really great and I feel like they care.
I lost one of my cats in the fall. I had in home euthanasia (not from High Plains) and let Dr Becker know and she was kind enough to send a personal card to me from her and the clinic. She didn't have to do this and it meant a lot.

Having a pet emergency is the worst.but having a place with a staff so friendly and a vet that actually took the time to listen to a customer, is few and far between. We are so happy Puppie was looked at by the staff of High Planes. We will continue to use their services. No one likes seeing their pet (a family member to us) in any discomfort. Ive never left many reviews but when I do it's because the level of service provided deserves to be acknowledged! Thanks to High Planes Puppie is back to his old self and just in time for Christmas 2016. Talk about Happy Holidays.

I am a very protective mama for my furbabies. I've had lots of experience with different vets across town so I feel that I can say with confidence: This is the best veterinary clinic on the front range. I have seen every provider in this clinic and none have disappointed me. In fact, they have helped me through the complications and passing of my Nebelung cat, been patient and loving with my rescue dog who is fearful/aggressive at times, have worked with my senior citizen obese feline, and never made me the slightest bit uncomfortable.
The doctors and techs are phenomenal. They are knowledgable, skilled, and actually listen to the owner to be able to provide the best care for their patients. They routinely go above and beyond the basic duties of their jobs. Example: my cat needed surgery for an intestinal blockage. I couldn't afford the surgery fee the emergency clinic wanted to charge.
It was Friday evening when my cat is went into distress so I knew I would be limited with my options. Instead of forcing me to pick between trying to scrounge several thousand dollars for the emergency surgery or letting my 2 year old cat die in pain, the vet offered to come in the next day and with a tech and do the surgery herself. She spent extra time working that day and even cut my bill down to less than $1k.
I cannot recommend this clinic enough. They are also big bully breed fans and you can trust your bullies to their care. Have a snake? A bird? A pig? Bring them to em. They will take care of common or exotics. I love that they truly do love and cherish our furbabies.
