We are proud of our commitment to Colorado Springs' pets and pet owners, and we are confident that in just one visit, you will see why Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital is a place you and your companion will feel right at home for veterinary care. One of the most beneficial services offered at Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital is a thorough and complete yearly physical examination.
Most veterinary hospitals in Colorado Springs offer vaccinations. The difference at Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital is that we customize an immunization program for your companion's specific needs. It can be difficult to know what questions to ask your veterinarian about vaccinations, especially considering the multitude of vaccine products available and the differences between brands in term of design, safety and efficacy.
Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection that is spread through the urine of infected wildlife (including rodents), livestock or even other dogs. It is one of the most common zoonotic (spread from animals to humans) diseases world wide. This means it can not only be fatal to your dog, but to you as well!

My mom used to work at Polo springs veterinary hospital. I have gotten such a good experience there. I want to become a mixed practice veterinarian when I grow up. They were always so nice to me and let me have such an experience that I can use in my everyday future. Not everybody gets to experience this but they're such great people. We brought our cat there.
And today we just put him down. They have been with us every step of the way. And they could not be more efficient. Lisa and Kristen I will never forget. BTW my mom is Gerty Kranz.

Update: Clinic refunded my payment in-full due to physician having to cancel since she was running 60 mins late to scheduled appointment. Additionally, owner of clinic called me and requested I remove review below and take my dogs to another clinic due to my post. Original post: Scheduled for consult on surgery. My son was diagnosed with pink eye two days ago and I requested to reschedule.
The technician stated I would lose $120 since that appointment was already scheduled. Extremely disappointed this clinic will not accommodate a medical condition which forces me to bring my son to this appointment.

We've been to a few different places for our family pets. Polo springs is FAR ABOVE ALL THE REST! They don't make up fake charges, or add a doggy bag for 40.00 this is a very caring place you can TRUST to take care of your pets as we love them like children. If they say a price it WILL be the best price out there WITHOUT sacrificing service and caring. Makadog SAYS WHOOHOO Polo Springs

As a previous employee I would never recommend anyone take their loved ones to this practice! We had a client wish that we perform CPR on their pet and the doctor refused to let me intubate, , and said to the clients "I'm sorry he's gone" as she did the most careless and lazy attempts at chest compression. You have to pay extra for adequate anesthetic monitoring.
And when your patient is so lethargic that you ask your doctor to evaluate her and she replied she's not painful. Even though the dog was so lethargic her head was hanging in her water bowl. it would be Anthropomorphic of me to say "that dog suffered" but she did. When I tried to discuss my concerns with the owner I was fired. More than two years later I write this with a clear conscience and knowing that I WOULD NEVER recommend this place to anybody!

I've been taking my dog (and my previous canine) to Polo Springs for over a decade for boarding as well as standard vaccinations. I can only speak on behalf of the way I was recently treated by the staff to suggest something at Polo has definitely changed, for the worse. To summarize, employees of Polo contacted me during my dog's weekend boarding to tell me my dog was too anxious for them to administer vaccinations.
The staff suggested my dog be given sedatives in order to be vaccinated. No alternative was given, such as waiting until I was present to administer vaccines. I was honestly shocked hearing this information as my dog has NEVER had issues with vaccinations. Long story short, I took my dog to another vet who administered vaccinations without issue. When subsequently contacting Polo Springs to schedule boarding I was told they would not be willing to board my dog unless she was given sedatives.
I attempted to explain how unreasonable this request was when considering the history of my pet being boarded at Polo Springs on numerous occasions in the past without any reported problems. To no avail, I was told their was no other solution. In reading other reviews, there seems to many instances in which pet owners have placed their trust in Polo Springs to provide proper and reasonable care for their pets, only to be overcharged or misdiagnosed. I, (luckily) can't speak on the latter, as my dog has been happy & healthy since we adopted her.
In regards to my specific situation, it appears Polo Springs was potentially looking to overcharge by drugging my dog, rather than offering a reasonable alternative. Even if it wasn't a money grab, I was disappointed at Polo Springs' unwillingness to work with me to come up with a better resolution. It's an unfortunate situation, and representatives of Polo Springs have repeatedly responded to poor online reviews by placing the blame/focus back on the pet owner.
I honestly never felt my pet was receiving the best possible care while at Polo Springs and must recommend future potential clients look elsewhere. I gave two stars, rather than 1, due to my pets receiving at least average care prior to the recent incident.

We brought our Rabbit in, same day appointment, on a Saturday! Dr. McIntosh was wonderful with him. It was a great experience as this was his first visit to a vet at 10 years old. I felt that it was even better that she has a pet Rabbit as well so she was familiar with them. Found out that he was fine, just worried bunny parents. Did you know that a Rabbit is considered an Exotic Pet?

I wish I would've read the reviews for this place before I took my puppy here. They care more about money than animals. I went in with his vaccination record that the breeder gave me which was also signed off by a vet from another state that I got him from and they told me they would not honor it and I had to vaccinate him all over again. They wanted to charge me 400.00.
I just had them give him the last vaccine that he actually needed and left. Honestly they seemed cold and not really too caring. Definitely all about money. I would NEVER recommend this place.

Extortionists. I used to work for labexpress(the company that runs their more complicated tests) and these people are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to veterinarian service. There are plenty of better places in Colorado Springs. I brought my cat here years ago, he passed I believe because polo springs had me wait for over 3 hours for tests that weren't getting ran.
They were clearly more interested in the wealthy couple with the greyhound in the lobby. The vet and the couple chatted for a very long time while my cats liver was failing in their examination room. After 3 hours of waiting for tests, they told me their machines were broken so they couldn't do tests. They still tried to charge me over $500 and told me to try the emergency room.
I went to the emergency room and spent $2300+ on getting him a feeding tube because at that point his liver was failing so bad it was the only option. They took one look at his skin under his ear and said "its yellow, his livers failing". Polo springs is nothing compared to Powers Pet Emergency. All of this broke my heart, out of the 3 cats we had he was MINE and he loved me to death.
Instead of not charging me for tests they couldn't do, they kept his samples and tested them about a week later. Then they called 911 on me and had the police talk to me, the police said "im not sure why they called us". LOL. Then they went as far as putting this fake bill against my credit because they have that power as a company. Once again, EXTORTIONISTS!
Thank you Polo Springs Vet for traumatizing me with your veterinarian service. The owner(s) of this establishment will die in shame of what you do to your customers for money. Enjoy your stolen vacations. I never paid you, never will and my credits great.

I Recently took my rabbit in because of a growth he had developed. The consultation was less than $50, but charged me $280 for for my antibiotics and cleaning solution. (I actually think that $280 included the consultation) but when they handed me a quote to remove the mass for roughly $1400, I decided to look elsewhere. My parents have recommended their veterinary clinic at Village Center Veterinary.
They were able to get me in right away charged me $70 for the consultation, and a $121 to remove the mask. Both parties are very nice and professional, unfortunately for Polo they were way out of my price range.

I had asked our vet in March to do my dog's bordatella (at the time of his regular vaccines) for an upcoming board and train. The day before I was supposed to drop my dog off, I realized that was missing from his shot records so they never actually gave it. It was a Saturday afternoon and literally no one was open except Polo Springs. I frantically called them and they were able to get him in that day and he was able to still go to his board and train without issue.
The staff I encountered were great! We typically use a "discount veterinarian" so I was expecting to pay a lot to Polo Springs, but their price was actually comparable and fair! I am so impressed with their service, hours, compassion, and prices, I will be switching all of my pets to Polo Springs!

Last week our little Scout was out playing chasing squirrels (as per usual) and we are now convinced she caught her paw on the metal edging in our yard while running after one. She cut her foot open so bad I. rushed her to the nearest emergency animal hospital after a fast Google search. Her foot was cut so deep you could see her bone and tendons. we were told she needed surgery immediately and we were just praying that her tendons weren't damaged.after an hour-long emergency surgery, we found out she didn't need a drainage tube, she received two layers of stitches and none of her tendants were damaged, we were soo relieved! Dr. McIntosh and Kristen, the certified veterinary.

They stayed almost an entire hour and a half after the hospital had closed its doors for the day just so that Scout could come home and not have to spend the night there. Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital is absolutely phenomenal... and mind you I did not have an appointment I ran in and they made our Scout a priority. We will recommend this place to everyone in fact we are now considering changing vets permanently to Polo Springs.. Our little Scout is in clean comfortable recovery! We couldn't be more grateful!

I have been going to Polo Springs for close to 30 years (I'm not sure when they originally opened, but this is about the time frame I started). I am now with my third dog being treated by the wonderful staff at Polo Springs. My dogs are my family, and I trust these people with their lives. They have taken me through some difficult times and I've. been there for routine exams.
No matter which of the veterinarians I get, they are equally wonderful each for their unique qualities. If you are not looking for the cheapest place but want good quality care for your pet, I would never hesitate to recommend Polo Springs. Your pet will be treated as if they are the only dog in the world :-)
