Dr Truman and staff are the most caring, compassionate animal caregivers! They care about the animals AND their people. Dr Truman is so knowledgeable about the animals and is always willing to go the extra mile. She does not push products on you and she helps you find the least expensive way to obtain the meds and products you need for your furbabies. Dr Truman's rates are so reasonable, too.

She is not out to gouge anyone by charging exhorbitant prices. We've had her for our veterinary needs for over 20 years. She's the best! Upon the deaths of our furbabies, usually from old age, but sometimes from serious conditions such as cancer, Dr. Truman has always shown her concern for our feelings, as well as the welfare of our animals. You just can't ask for a better vet or person!

Dr Pam is amazing, compassionate and knows what's she's doing. I felt 100% comfy going to her. She confirmed with us what we already knew about our senor dog and we left knowing we have some tough decisions to make.

Dr. Pam Truman is a Veterinarian you can trust with your dog or cat. Her concern, questions, knowledge, gentleness with touch of your pet companion is very respectful and professional. Her Veterinarian services are by appointment and her prices are reasonable. The building sits by itself, behind the Shopping Center at 105th and Metcalf, 1 block West, Overland Park, KS.

I have been going to Dr. Truman for close to 20 years. She has always been very professional and caring to my animals. She really bases treatment on the animal's environment and stage of life, and explains things quite thoroughly and often based on research she's read. I have never had to worry that she is recommending treatments or procedures unnecessarily. She's very judicious in her recommendations and extremely compassionate with end-of-life issues. Everyone in my family who has pets all go to her now as well.

I would not recommend Metcalf South or Dr. Truman for cat care. When I would bring my cat in for wellness checks and vaccinations, Dr. Truman acted impatient and irritated by my cat's anxiety, which is typical for many cats visiting the vet. Dr. Truman is not equipped to deal with a scared cat, doesn't offer fear-free medication, and doesn't consistently have an assistant to help her handle them.

I deeply regret keeping my cat under Dr. Truman's care for as long as I did, because her impatience in examining my cat caused her to miss developing dental issues that have resulted in my cat's needing to have several teeth extracted. I initially called Metcalf South to see my cat when the dental infection first started making her act sick. Dr. Truman made the appointment.then called back the day of the appointment to cancel and say, I checked your chart, your cat is "a pill, " I don't want to see her anymore, and good luck to you.

I was upset by this, but it turned out to be a blessing. I took my cat to a different vet practice, where she felt calmer from the get-go, and where doctors and staff were caring, competent, patient, and thorough with her. Lesson learned.

I've gone to Dr. Truman at Metcalf South Animal Hospital for around 15 years now and I highly recommend her. She truly cares for the pets she treats, as well as their owners. She also does a good job balancing being thorough while not sending you on a wild goose chase to pad the bill (I've had other vets who do that, unfortunately). I wish there were more vets like her out there!

Dr. Truman has been my vet for over 10 years. She's both compassionate and down to Earth at the same time. Her prices are what you would expect. She'll help you treat your pet within your budget. If you can't afford the expensive supplements or meds, she'll understand and give alternatives, rather than pushing you for options you can't afford to sustain.

I've sent my friends to her, and they've all loved her. I also like that she's close to 435, so I don't have to drive through the city streets. She cares about the animals, but she also cares about the humans. She's been a vet for a long time, so she's seen it all. She also offers more modern treatment, like laser therapy.

Dr. Pam Truman comes highly recommended by me, as I was one of her first clients, when her doors opened in 1998 with my two labs. She is patient and gentle and very personable. Now caring for my elderly cat Mia, I could never say enough good words about her and her staff. So pleased and thankful.

Dr. Truman saved my dogs life. After being told she was going to die and to consider euthanasia from both the emergency vet and our regular vet I tried one last thing. Acupuncture, natural remedies and taking her off all the prescription meds allowed my girl to live to be 13, 7 years after she was diagnosed with liver disease. I am so thankful. She's passed on but she lived a great life!

Dr Truman is the best! My family has had several generations of K-9s go to her, and they all have had long, healthy, happy lives. Our bullies have always been happy to see her, and never think the vet is a dreaded event. Calm and quaint, the office has seen some of our happiest of times, and saddest good byes. Dr. Truman and her staff are very personable, professional, and heart felt in all they have done for us.
