Mariposa Veterinary Center

Wonderful facility with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. They have cared for my pets and helped us through the tough decisions all pet owners must face. I cannot say enough good things about Mariposa.

I've been a client of Mariposa for 4 years and have had nothing but good experiences. Dr. Runnels has been my dogs vet for most of that time and I trust her fully to care for them. They are busy and can book out, but, that's how it is will all good doctors around here.

This is the best vet I have been to in Kansas and Missouri for my bird. I have 3, but only brought in one to see if it was a right fit. I will definitely be bringing the rest of my feathered babies here. Dr. Carrier was so patient with my amazon and handled her with care. He was very thorough in explaining what he thought would be best for her. This included some baseline blood work, because she was adopted and we don't know much about her history. I would definitely recommend going here.

Dr. Carrier is such an amazing vet! He really cares about all his animal patients an incredible amount. He's very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him for any pet you have. He sees my leopard gecko and red foot tortoise.

In this journey called life there are many ups and downs. On the top of the list of the downs, is when we have to put our four-legged buddies down. Dr. Runnel has put both of my pugs down, one a year ago and today was the other one who was 17.5 yrs. old. She made the transition for me in a very loving, kind and compassionate way. Not all vets can deliver that, but she helped me so much today with saying goodbye to my little buddy. She is a mindful, gentle and caring person and could teach others how to show up that way when it's time to say goodbye

Been going to Mariposa Veterinary Wellness Center for about 11 years. They are probably the most caring and knowledgeable vet I have ever been to. One of my older dogs has to have chiropractic services about every 5 or 6 months to relieve pain. I was surprised when they diagnosed him, let alone offered this service I thought he had a stroke.

Dr. Runnels and the entire staff have been nothing short of amazing! They've given us hope after two other clinics had given up on helping my dog. Refills are prompt, return calls are prompt, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Runnels and this clinic. I really love how they offer more of a holistic approach and don't force anything that you're not comfortable with (like over-vaccinating). The staff is always so pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend this veterinary office. "Rezzi" approved.

These guys are great for all exotics. We see Dr. Carrier and he's fantastic. The staff at the front can be hit and miss and it can be difficult to get appointment times or get the doctor to call back in a timely fashion. But they do a great job with care while you're there. Dr. Carrier listens and waits till you've fully explained the problem before doing anything. They don't try to nickel and dime you. And Dr. Carrier even discussed treatment of our dog over the phone so we wouldn't have to bring her in and incur more clinic fees.

My big mastiff girl, Lola had health issues from the beginning. I finally took her to Mariposa and Dr. Dodson. She was so good to Lola and we were able to fix a few of her issues. Lola didn't make it to 6 years old. When we needed to put her down, Dr. Dodson was who we wanted to be with. They all took such good care of our girl. So sweet and peaceful.

I am very disappointed and frustrated with the service at this clinic. I requested a special order bag of bird food in March. By April, it still had not arrived. I proceeded to request this special bag of bird food every month for 4 months in a row, being told each time that they were making a note for the orderer and would call me when it arrived. Eventually, I gave up.

In August, I got a call stating my bag of food had arrived.
Today, I paid for it over the phone and a friend was going to pick it up for me. When he arrived at the clinic, he found that between the time I paid for it and the time he arrived, it had been given to another customer, even though it had my name on it. I had to speak with a receptionist over the phone for a refund.

She had to run my card twice for the refund as she initially forgot to refund the tax. She was then unable to print a receipt showing she actually ran the card for a refund, stating she would e-mail the receipt. I have yet to receive that email.
Mariposa is the most disorganized and client un-friendly clinic I have ever been in. I am a registered vet tech in the state of KS and my boss would fire us if we had such poor client service! I will never again set foot in this clinic.

Best place ever to take your pets. I used to be a vet shopper because I couldn't stand pushy vet offices that seemed to shove yearly vaccines and medication at me. now I go out of my way, driving an hour from my home to bring my dogs here. I am never afraid to ask questions, even if I think it's a dumb one. They never make me feel inferior and are always willing to take time to explain things and answer questions thoroughly.

Their zen rooms are wonderful, no metal tables or bad lighting. the furniture, sounds and smells of their rooms puts everyone at ease. Yes this place is more expensive but is SO worth it!

I cannot describe the level of awesomeness this clinic has. It is off the charts! They are all about making nervous pets comfortable. I love how they blend conventional and alternative medicine. I wish I had started bringing my pets here years ago. I also wish they treated people! 😉 Thank you Dr. Runnels and staff for being so amazing!

Could not ask for a better place to take the fur babies! Reception, techs, and the veterinarians we have seen are all great. I appreciate how Doctors Carrier and Burcham treat us like family. It means a lot that they have taken the time to explain everything to us. I have never felt pressured to buy anything. I can tell that we all have the same goal of keeping our loved ones healthy. Thank you!

This is the only vets office I fully trust with my animals. When my dog Titan swallowed a toy he needed emergency surgery. The toy sat in there for weeks without us knowing and a bunch of his intestines died and for dogs with that severe of an issue it’s only about a 30% survival rate. They were able to get him in right away and he came out of surgery perfectly happy and healthy.

They saved his life and I feel like he wouldn’t have made it if I took him elsewhere. They were also very companionate when my sphynx cat Bijou passed away. I also recently adopted a hairless kitten who ended up having heart issues and although I wasn’t able to get in with Mariposa, Dr. Burcham still reviewed the X-rays from the other clinic I went to as a second opinion and gave me some good advice. Great staff and takes emergencies very seriously. I really appreciate everything they have done for all of my fur babies!

Mariposa has always taken such great care of our cats. We are so appreciative for the clinical expertise and holistic guidance. When our cat Boris recently came down with a bladder infection (potentially lethal in an older male cat), Dr. Anthony Carrier took a detailed history, treated him right away, offered helpful education and followed up to ensure he was recovering. Mariposa vet techs spent a lot of time working with Boris, cleaning him up and helping this high-strung cat to seem more at ease. Dr.

Carrier really went above and beyond to help Boris and also identified that our 21-year-old cat Lucy needed to be on thyroid medication. Now she's gaining weight and is much more comfortable. Outstanding pet care and customer service!
