I'm really happy to have found this animal hospital especially while my dog was battling cancer. The Veterinarians and staff were all excellent and very compassionate. It's a difficult time when you have a sick pet, and their care definitely made it easier for all of us. When it was time to put my dog down, I had originally planned home euthanasia.

But after all the love and care my dog received from Big Creek I felt he would be more comfortable there than having a stranger come to our house. The facility itself is very nice and their prices were always very fair. I do feel that my dog Jake received the very best care.

STOP! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! Terrible assistance, customer service and lying! 1- provided me with a 15g bottle of medicine, which did not last for the for the entire two weeks of use. Upon asking for me, I have to pay for another bottle. Why was I not given a bottle with more than enough? 2- upon asking for a refill, I was told the only way for a refill, is to go in for another check up.

So now I would have to pay a check up fee and a refill fee. Why can I not just receive the refill, why do I HAVE to go in for another check up? 3- I was originally lied to about how much I would have to pay on my first visit, could of been a mistake by the rep, sure. They said the medicine would be enough for x amount of days, it wasn't. An all around unpleasant experience provided by the big creek vet team. Outright. And to think, all I needed was an appropriate amount of medicine and the experience would of been somewhat good.

I placed an order for heart worm medication for my dog through chewy.com and this POS animal hospital denied it! Wtf is wrong with you idiots! I don't care if he is due a check up, don't deny a medication that all dogs are supposed to take regardless! I will never go here again!

Becca is awesome! She recommended some food for my dog with digestive issues and he loves it. He hadn't been eating due to a kidney issue and she literally saved him. He's eating great now! Thank you! Dr Estes saved my English Bulldog, she got very sick from a chew treat. She was not eating and very weak. We thought we were going to lose her. Dr Estes hospitalized her, gave her fluids and meds.

With in four days she was feeling so much better. I can't say enough great things about Dr Estes and all the wonderful staff at Big Creek. They saved my baby girl and I am so grateful Every time I go to Big Creek Vet it's a great experience

We recently moved out of the area to Florida. What is the one thing we will miss about Georgia? Big Creek Animal Hospital. We discovered them about three years ago, and since then they have cared for our dog, Brandie Lady, with the utmost care and compassion. We boarded her there many times, even for the day and she was so relaxed she didn't want to leave.

The facility is first rate and the staff beyond compare. They have been absolute life savers and will be friends for life. Becca, Marc, J.J., Corey, Drs. Pollard and Estes and too many to mention treated our pet like there own. Thank you all!

This comment is not about practicing Vets or staff at Big Creek but about cost of services. My dog had minor surface ear infection and was treated with ear examination, microscope review of infection and prescribed an antifungal.cost $150 and told to follow up in 2 weeks. Called 2 weeks later to schedule follow up and told that for vet to just look at ear would cost $80.

I cancelled because I thought it was unreasonable charge for just looking with no additional test involved. 2 Wanted to get estimate for teeth cleaning my 15lb doggie and told it would be $518 for blood chemistry, anesthesia without extraction. I called my old Vet in Roswell that has done same procedure previously and got estimate of $250 for very same teeth cleaning without extraction.

I will take our dog to Roswell for teeth cleaning. My take, if Big Creek doesn't get reasonable on service charges my family with 4 doggies will find another vet that is excellent at a reasonable cost.

Disorganized and Expensive We have been there numerous times. Each time, we are the only client being served, but still wait a very long time at each stage - in the lobby, in the treatment room and then to pay. What on their phones could possibly more important than the patient/ client standing right in front of them?!

I wouldn't even imagine sending my babies to anyone but Big Creek! Seeing my dogs tail wag when we pull into the parking lot is the best feeling because I know they're being cared for even when I'm not there. Their late nights and weekend hours make life so much! Their staff treat my dogs like they are their own and even take funny pictures of them during their daily adventures there (which I love!)

Corey K.06/05/2018 Second opinions are very important. Our male Persian cat had a urethral blockage over the Memorial Day holiday which necessitated a trip to the Emergency Vet Hospital. When he was discharged on Tuesday morning, we transported him to Big Creek for follow up care. The care that he received there was good over the next 3 days. We were told that if he blocked again, then it would be necessary for a Perineal Urethrostomy or referred to as PU.

The estimate for this procedure was $4,000-6,000. This was quoted by the veterinarian. At this point in my review, I will be very pragmatic so keep that in mind while reading the following passage. Receiving a price tag of that amount for a procedure, I began to contemplate next steps for our pet. There is also no guarantee that any procedure will be successful although the rate of success is very high for this one.

I reviewed a clinical study that was published in November 2012. I will post the link for your convenience: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1748-5827.2012.01310.x This is a lot of information to take in when deciding on a procedure. So lets factor in the cost of the procedure. Remember, Big Creek quoted us $4,000-6,000. I called UGA Vet Hospital for a quote on this procedure.

Their estimate is $2,000-2,500. Auburn Vet Hospital quoted me the exact amount. Still, I continued to research. We found a Vet in Lawrenceville that would do it for $1,000. The point of my review is not to bash Big Creek for the care of our pet but to question the aggressiveness of performing the procedure on a 2 year old cat without trying to medically manage him and changing his diet.

To sum it up: If Big Creek had quoted me a price that is much more inline with other practices, it would not have caused us to even consider euthanasia. That is what is so disturbing about this entire situation. Our pet is under the care of another veterinarian who is working with us to avoid an unnecessary procedure. He was astonished with the aggressiveness of this practice. He also stated that the recovery from this procedure is difficult.

First, I will say that I'm very happy this practice opened the Big Creek Animal Hospital location in Cumming. My cat has been a patient at the Peachtree Corners location in Norcross for years and I've been driving way out of the way just because the staff are so amazing. My cat who is 14 was put on injections for arthritis last year and I would need to visit with a lot of frequency for the first month of injections. Driving to Norcross from Cumming that frequently wasn't going to work.

They said I could have the injections done at Big Creek which is about 5 minutes from my house. I was hesitant because I love the team and Dr. Jackson at Peachtree Corners so much. I'm so glad I took the chance! Dr. Estes at Big Creek is AMAZING! She cares about her patients immensely and connects easily with their parents. She goes out of her way to ensure that they are well taken care of and always does the right and fair thing when it comes to the financial side of things.

My poor baby has been having issues with his glands, so once we got the infection under control, Dr. Estes suggested when I bring him in for his injections every few weeks to have them checked. I recently found out that although I've been making tech appointments for Charlie's injections, nail clipping, and glands check, that Dr. Estes prefers to see Charlie every time and perform the check and give him his injection herself.

I love that she cares enough to do this. I have boarded Charlie at this location on a couple of occasions and I know he's always well taken care of. They allow you to go in the back and see where they will be. The kennel is pretty clean and the cats are kept separate from the dogs. There's also a nice window in the cats' room so they can get some sunlight since clearly you can't put the cats on a run. :- I'm really happy that I found Big Creek.

I still love the ladies at Peachtree Corners, but I'm happy to have found a new "home" with Big Creek. P.S. I've had one unhappy experience there and it was with another Doctor. My guess is the reviewers who were unsatisfied also had that Doctor because there's no way someone could possibly be unsatisfied with Dr. Estes. That one bad experience could easily cause this to be a 4 star review, but Dr. Estes is that amazing!

I dropped my two dogs there for baths at 11:00 am for baths and picked up at 4:00pm. One of my dogs was dripping wet and had not been brushed even a little. They also performed two test without my permission.

Love the building and the staff. I had four dogs to take for annual visits and three are seniors. So I had blood work done on two and the shots all for $750. I thought that was reasonable, since $300 of that was the blood work. They take my discount plan (Pet Assure) which gives you 25% off. Called the next day to check on them. Unfortunately I had to have my oldest dog, 17 years, put to sleep. They were very reasonable on the euthanasia and cremation. I would recommend them.

I like the building and decor and all of the young people who work there are very friendly. I feel like the prices are high and they're not willing to work with you on price- I.e., avoid a procedure or test if not totally necessary. I am still not sure about this place- it's so hard to find experienced and exceptional vets- I will probably try a few more times and see how it goes.

I have been going to Big Creek now for over a year. Thanks to Big Creek they saved my Dog's LIFE! Ever sense they have been like family to me. Even when my oldest dog was in congestive heart failure, they took care of her & me! They knew how much I loved her, most of they cried right along with me as I said my good-byes. I know they cared about her and about me.

This is the best place I have brought my dogs to sense I moved to Georgia 5 years ago. Hopping from vet's to vet's. I finally found a vet office that listens to what I have to say about my dog. I live with them I know them better then anyone, so I can help find what is wrong- that is what they said to me. I totally agree! If they don't have the answers they are going to tell you that also. They did with me. I trust the Dr.'s at Big Creek with my Fur Children's lives. After all they saved one of them. I do recommend them 100%. OH. And I have 5 dogs!

Beautiful building, people, atmosphere, and treatment. Took my blue heeler here to be boarded, and it turned out she was due for shots. The very caring front desk lady took her to get her shots ($140) and board her for the day!($13). The thing that really set this place apart was the courtesy call the next day to see how the pup.was doing after her shots. I was not expecting that and put a very personal touch on my experience. I plan to drop her off for the day tomorrow!

September 1, 2016 I have been to Big Creek on two occasions which turned out to be the worse experiences I have ever had after visiting multiple pet day care facilities and animal hospitals. First of all they charged me on the so called "free orientation stay". I did not mind the charge after all I have spent thousands on daycare and health care for my boys.

I am hoping the problem is not related to race. I tried not to think that way and went back for second visit. I will be the first to say to any other nationalities do not take your pets to this location. You will feel the coldness of the staff. On the second visit the daycare manager wanted to discuss behavior problems with my boys not playing well with dogs weighing over seventy pounds.

If they don't have accommodations to separate small pets (my boys' weight ten lbs. a piece) they should let that be known at the time of the visit. She then stated very sarcastically the first visit was not a true picture of their attitudes since they were the only pets that day and they play well with each other. Yes, it is new and clean, but some people are animal lovers because they don't relate to people as well. They have some serious work to do with professionalism. I am sure no one wants their pet mistreated and then pay for it.

I brought my puppy here to get neutered as part of an adoption program. At the time, I specifically asked about laser surgery in regards to recovery time, I've had 2 other dogs fixed through laser surgery with no issues, cut very clean and healed very quickly with no need of any follow-up. I was told here that there's no difference, trust us.

Well that's not the case, first I noticed that the cut wasn't very clean, nor were the sutures, they told me it's okay it will improve over time. About 8 weeks later, I noticed a bump where one of his sutures was, so I figured it was an infection caused by him being neutered. Just like going to any doctor, follow-up appointments should be at no cost.

Good example is stitches for humans, doc says come in, will take them out for free and anything related to the procedure is free as they back their work. Not here, I was charged for an office visit and the antibiotic ointment, which I don't mind paying for the medication but the margin they charged was ridiculous, it was a generic ointment, same stuff humans get at $5-$10 they charged $30!

I asked about the charge, they were firm and just said "no way knowing he would have a reaction to suture". Really? I know that but you should stand by your work and treat people how you would want to be treated. So $48 charge costed them repeat business of a dog owner of 3, shots alone per year is well over $500 not to mention heartworm medication and flea medication.

Way to go, hope it was worth it lol Only reason they get 2 stars is that the office is really nice, and they work with rescue organizations. But they need some serious work on nickle and diming their clients :
