Our pup was shaking her head and we had suspicions about a foxtail in her ear. San Roque offered me to drop her off and when their busy staff had some time would check her out. They found a foxtail and removed it without the need for sedation. So grateful we have such quality vets in our neighborhood. Thank-you!

The staff at SRPH is very knowledgeable and efficient. I was in and out in a very acceptable amount of time. I took my dog Foxy to annual checkup. The veterinarian, Katie, was great! She answered every questions I had and never made me feel she was rushed for time. She presented many ideas to appetite, , training and grooming.

January 12, 2022 We were long-time clients of Goleta Airport Pet Hospital/ San Roque Pet Hospital (from mid-2012 to beginning-2022). San Roque Pet Hospital used to be wonderful, now.it has changed to a practice that feels like it Nickle and dimes clients for services rendered and provides inconsistent, empathetic care. About the front office staff: The reception has been inconsistently helpful and warm; the latter being that we felt rushed and left as though we were more of a bother or annoyance for calling.
About Dr. Peterson: She may have 15+ years of experience as a DVM, and she may have done a superb job in caring for countless animals, but she did not impart that level of expertise to us via clear and concise communication related to the care and management of our dog who was newly diagnosed with diabetes. We were often given sub-par instructions and education.mostly being referred to YouTube videos for clarification rather than hearing it from her.and so our follow-up questions and concerns might have felt overwhelming, but that's what resulted from the limited and incomplete information we received from her. Additionally, she did not impart a reassuring attitude when discussing our dog's care, and so we were often left feeling uneasy and a lack of confidence in our ability to properly manage his symptoms, and even a lack of confidence in the process of managing his symptoms.
We would have appreciated a warm smiling and the time taken to ask if we understood the game plan.her bedside manner left us wanting to switch practitioners. However, we do appreciate her time and effort. ----Please, San Roque Pet Hospital, make sure your DVMs have the time to properly spend with each Client so that we can see the best of who they are and what they do.
We know she is probably a lot better than what we experience from her.---- About the office flow: The current system of communicating through a front office staff member to your Tech and then ultimately the Tech to the Vet has led to delays in communication and maybe even instructions that are lost in translation. My husband was very upset about the instructions we received by the office about bringing in a stool sample.
He followed office instructions only to find out on the day of our appointment that the stool sample was too old to run for accurate testing results, and yet we literally paid for this error in instructions that was given to us by their staff member/office. That was our last straw and which made up our decision to leave this practice.we felt like the only care this office had was in collecting payment for a service rendered versus trying to make right the error that was made by their office. Currently, this office lacks consistent, competent managed care and we hope we are the last Clients that receive this kind of care because San Roque Pet Hospital used to be awesome. A positive: My husband stayed with this office because of the excellent and empathetic care we have received in the past by Dr. Katie Sahyouni.

We have been with San Roque Pet Hospital for 6 years now. The front staff seems to change a lot and parking is kind of a drag. But the reason we have stuck with them, is Dr. Katie Sahyouni. We've seen a few of their vets over the years, but she's our favorite by far! She's the best! She's warm, compassionate and empathetic. She's easy to talk to and understand.
Her bedside manner is so kind. She never tries to upsell products, always informs me of new products, foods or recommendations according to my dogs age. She lets me make the decision, and I never feel pressured to buy or change products right away. I think her vibe between the pet and pet owner is what I love most about her. She as well has a large breed dog, so what she suggests for my dog is what she does for her dogs.
I like that she incorporates her personal knowledge with her expertise in medicine. Even though we only see her once a year, I feel very fortunate to have found a vet that we really connect with. Plus I think she really likes my dog too

Our Shiba Inu (Suki) is about 12 years old and had painful arthritis. We took her to San Roque Pet Hospital because we weren't satisfied with the treatment she was getting at another veterinarian pet hospital. Dr. Katie Sahyouni at San Roque was a breath of fresh air as were her professional assistants Emy and Leslie. After a blood test to make sure Suki's liver and kidneys were healthy enough to take the medication Dr. Sahyouni wanted to recommend (they were), she began treatment with a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug which she will take daily for 3 weeks before having another blood test to ensure there has been no damage to her liver or kidneys.
If not, she will continue the treatment for life. She already has increased mobility as her pain lessens. The level of professionalism at San Roque is higher than we have ever had and there is no doubt that Suki is being treated by people who really care about her and already is in less pain.

Can't say enough good things about this place. My family has been bringing our pets here for over 20 years and everyone is great, from the doctors to the techs/clinical staff to the front desk. You can tell that the entire team communicates well with each other and that extends to how they communicate with clients, which makes me confident that I am getting correct information and that everyone down the line knows what is going on with my pet.
I appreciate that the doctors give me multiple treatment options and support my decisions even if I'm unable to do the most thorough/costly option available. They are always transparent with estimates/treatment costs and communicate ahead of time so there are no surprises. It's certainly not cheap, but I have no problem spending money here because they are kind, compassionate, loving, responsive, and so skilled at what they do; I know my beloved pets are getting the best possible care and these folks are worth their weight in gold. I'm so grateful and feel lucky to have them as our veterinary team

Dr. Peterson was able to fit my dog in for a same day appointment for his ear infection. The staff were all so nice, even when it was super busy at the end of the day. Everyone was friendly and attentive and my dog, Guinness didn't seem stressed out when I picked him up. You can tell that they really care about the pets they treat at their busy clinic. Thank you!

I was able to get an appointment within a week, the receptionists were helpful, the doctor was great, and explained everything I needed to do to help my Missy get better. I really liked getting a complete write-up of the visit and what needed to be done. I will now continue taking my precious Missy to San Roque Pet Hospital. AND Missy is completely healed.
