Jax, our dog was in good care. But don't try to have them call your insurance or your medication provider. Black hole. Just read your reply. It couldn't match #blackhole better. If you truly wanted to improve, you'd reach out to me.

The staff is very caring and kind with pets and owners. They are efficient at communication with pharmacies, insurance companies, other vet clinics, and owners.

Do not go to this sad excuse for a pet clinic. Horrible in every way. Rude. Doesn't return calls, dirty office. Nothing professional about this operation. My sister's dog was a patient here. More than once my sister and her dog had wait outside for an hour for a scheduled appt. Something is wrong with these people. Do not take your pet here. just turn around, face the opposite direction, and run don't walk!

I started taking my dog to Foothill because they were the only local vet accepting new clients when I got her as a puppy in 2020 during COVID. I probably should have widened my search to Carpinteria or even Ventura - it would have been worth the drive. Poor communication means that even if details are mentioned the receptionist when making an appointment, then the same details are mentioned again to the tech when dropping off.

The doctor will then call to ask for said details because they were never recorded or communicated. Frustrating. They insist that almost every visit requires a follow-up visit, charged at full price. I was once called and told that I missed my follow-up appointment, an appointment I never actually made. Sorry but I'm not going to take time off of work for you to charge me $$ to tell me that my dog's eye or ear infection has, in fact, gotten better.

The experience here feels more like buying a car than receiving healthcare: they're all about the upsell. I brought my dog in with an eye infection and they tried to sell me probiotics (that they had already sold me at my previous appointment). They'll happily sell your information to advertisers as well. I got an email from Trupanion trying to sell me pet insurance that referenced my "recent visit to Foothill Pet Hospital" just hours after one appointment. Very disappointing.

Vet followed up with pet / house sitter to ensure health of our dog. I can tell they really care to make a difference in the health of their (animal) patients.

PLEASE BEWARE. We were greatly discouraged and disappointed with the care provided at Foothill. I will NEVER take my dog there again. The office was non-responsive to calls, over-prescribed unnecessary medicines and was completely unprofessional when I pushed back on the ridiculouslessness of having to pay additional exam fees after already having a full exam, blood panel and a myriad of other questionable procedures done. It's a SHAME they are allowed to practice medicine in this manner. UNBELIEVABLE.

I have been taking my dog to Foothill Pet Hospital for a few years now, to a wonderful vet, then unfortunately, he retired! Shortly after some new vets moved in and my experience has been ok. I had a scare with my dog swallowing something and the communication was not great. It worked itself out thank goodness. We now have a new kitty that needed a wellness check and saw Dr Overskei.

He was so rude I could not believe my ears. They insisted on performing a procedure that had already been done somewhere else and were not listening. I have lost trust in them. There are some good people there but it's a mixed bag. Including what must have been a new vet technician. So disappointed and was seriously afraid for my kitty.

We asked Foothill Pet Hospital to examine (2) rescue dogs that we wanted to adopt. Due to covid we had to make and appt and leave the dogs all day. We got the dogs back but not the results. They continually made promises they did not keep. After almost $1,000 we had to beg for the results for days. Promises for callback were flatley ignored. No written report on the health exam was provided although some blood results were finally emailed with no explanation. extremely disappointed in this establishment and their practices.

This is my first experience at FPH, so I am keeping an open mind and giving them a try. So after giving a try so far it's all disappointment! Was sent home with "cough tablet", nails clipped (my request), can't verify anything else as have not talked to vet since Friday, "cough tablets" not helping at all, cough is actually worse. I could go on but it's late at night and I'm tired!

We have been bringing all of our cats and dogs over the years here for years. The staff seems to have changed here and there but they always are thorough and competent. It's a convenient location with plenty of parking and even a small grassy area in the front if your animal needs go relieve themselves before going inside. (There are other pet hospitals and vets in town that are located in areas with street parking only and no sidewalks only so I see this as a pretty significant perk.

I won't name their names here.) I give them four stars because they tend to always be running late. I'm not sure why. I have often been stuck in a room with my dog for up to an hour and that doesn't include sitting in the front waiting room first. This doesn't include reviewing the history with the vet tech and getting the animals weighed. This is waiting to be seen by the vet.

For something as simple as renewing flea and tick meds. If this happened once it would be fine but the long wait is the main reason why I am giving them four stars and if I could, 3.5 stars. They are just slow with everything. Like your time doesn't matter to them. It's also the main reason I would consider finding another vet if I got a good recommendation from someone I trusted.

Bottom line, they will be attentive to your animals, they are knowledgeable and helpful, and offer a wide variety of services. My animals always feel comfortable there and safe with everyone who works there. But be prepared for them to suck away your morning or afternoon depending on when your appointment is scheduled. It could very well be that there are emergency animals that come in and take priority since it is a hospital and they just don't have a good system down for dealing with scheduled appointments. However, it just seems like everyone that works there moves at a slower pace than the rest of the world. It's my only issue with them.
