Joanna began working at Animal Care Center in 2000 as a veterinary technician. She has a special interest in canine and feline behavior and before becoming manager at Best Care Animal Hospital, she ran puppy kindergarten classes at Country Oaks Animal Hospital for 5 years. Joanna also enjoyed teaching humans and pets how to overcome separation anxiety and fear-based behaviors through positive reinforcement and owner education.

I definitely recommend this vets office to anyone. Everyone is extremely friendly. My dog Rorri is so very excited to go there. Funny, but true. That's how much she loves everyone at the office & they all love her. They take the time to truly listen to your questions & address all of them. They are kind, caring, professional staff! I would give more stars if I could

LOVE this vet! They live up to their name with the relaxed feel of the office and the reasonable pricing. When my dog is sick I have been seen in a reasonable timeframe. Vet (owner?) did not seem rushed and seemed genuinely concerned about my beloved pet. Medical staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Office staff is polite and friendly but I also saw them nicely but firmly enforce rules(dogs must be leashed) when an entitled owner thought his wishes + unruly dog trumped everyone elses rights. My prior vet played favorites big time so policy + structure is appreciated. Its been difficult to find a vet in FL and I feel like we finally got the right place. Thanks

I cannot express enough how much I would recommend this amazing facility! Long story short, I had my fur baby with a different vet for years and I felt she was not getting the right care. I took my 13-year-old Maltese to Dr. Richmond. Without even going into too much detail he could tell what was really wrong with her. He made a medicine addition and my dog is already better than she has been in months! I know she may not have long left but I know she is way more comfortable and happier thanks to Dr. Richmond. Thank you to everyone there!

The caring and emotional support from the staff during our fur babies final hours was over and above anything I had expected. They also sent us a beautiful rose with their heart felt sympathies which will be remembered forever. We are planning on using them to care for our other fur babies as well, anyone who cares this much is a blessing

Very clean, well maintained clinic, everyone was very friendly and our Doberman puppy wasn't nervous at all. Only issue I had was I didn't physically see the veterinarian do an exam on my puppy. I was a veterinarian technician for 7 years and owner was always with while the Dr. Was examining their pet, heart, ears, mouth etc. I believe this should be implemented with all owners being there to see the exam being performed.

I can't say enough things about this office. Dr. Salazar was very compassionate when our family had to make very important decision to say good bye to our loved one. I never expected to have received a condolence card and then flowers from Country Oaks. I am so pleased to have chosen an office with such caring staff and doctors. Thank You all for trying to brighten my days while my family still grieves. Glad to have you guys to take care of all my lil loved ones

They were wonderful! They took the time out of their busy schedule to take care of my 18 year old chihuahua mix when my own vet told me to take him to Tampa to an emergency vet. He was bleeding from his mouth and I couldn't tell from where. He had injured his eye and mouth. They took such great care of him and I thank them so much. I use to go there and moved but they still had my records and I still had credit on my account from 2012! Awesome people!

Bronson & Zoe have been going to see the amazing doctors here for over 11 years. From yearly visits, scratched corneas, kidney stone surgery, teeth cleanings/extractions and more recently, pinched nerve issues, I would not trust ANYONE else with my furry kids medical care. Every single staff member is friendly, and you can tell they truly care about you and your pet.
During surgery they call to reassure you everything is ok, they follow up days after, and I've never had an issue scheduling an appointment. Dr. Richmond & Salazar are AMAZING. I moved to Tampa and still drive on hour each way for them to take care of my elderly pets. I wouldn't trust any one else!
