Our cherished canine friends have benefited in a great way. One of the most recent advances we have seen is in the area of Physical Rehabilitation. Research indicates that loss of muscle mass begins within 24 hours following surgery or serious injury. An increase in swelling occurs, in addition to loss of muscle control and stiffening of joints, when rehabilitation is delayed.
We ask that patients be accompanied by referral information and any pertinent records and radiographs. When making your first appointment, we will work with you to obtain the appropriate referral information from your regular veterinarian. We also ask that patients have proof of current vaccinations.
The Canine Rehabilitation Center offers a wide range of caring veterinary specialists to aid your pet in his canine rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Erin Troy was raised on a small farm in Contra Costa County. She received her Bachelor's of Science from UC Davis and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Wisconsin.
Water is a fabulous environment in which to exercise. The principle of buoyancy combined with that of resistance make this a most unique and safe method of rehabilitation. We have an underwater treadmill that provides an opportunity to strengthen muscles with little to no pressure on the patient's joints.

Where do I begin, this has been a fantastic experience from the very start! My sweet golden Luna had TPLO surgery, and we started taking her here for some rehab about 8 weeks after the surgery. My interactions with Dr Troy, Jennifer, and Kaylen immediately put me at ease that I made the right decision to come here. Their special care and attention to my pet was exactly what I was looking for. It can be hard during COVID when you can't come inside for an appointment, but they send me photos after each visit and chat with me outside with a formal report which is amazing. Luna is so excited each time we pull up, and her tail is still wagging when I pick her up after! Jennifer has been my main interaction during these visits, and she is a rockstar! You can tell how much she really loves animals and has a passion for her job.

Luna has now been going every week for hydrotherapy and other exercises, and the amount of strength she has regained is amazing. This has been a real game changer for her post surgery, and we make the drive from Berkeley to Walnut Creek each week. We're nearing the end of our official treatment plan, however I will still make a point to try and take her here once a month for some general maintenance to continue to make sure her joints are getting proper attention.

They are one of the only rehab facilities in the area, so make sure to book out as far in advance as possible! You can't go wrong coming here, they really make the entire experience as painless as possible, and have a true love for animals. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody!

Excellent facility for my Mini Poodle Ginger. January 2020 while visiting out of state, my Ginger suffered a FCE stroke. After a MRI and consulting with approximately five specialists, we found a great hospital and rehab in Maryland. We returned to California three days before Covid-19 struck. Ginger's rehab was put on hold, because my mother and I have medical issues.

I waited and finally began rehab. The staff here are excellent! Ginger looks forward towards every session. My groomer, fellow dog park visitors and myself, have noticed marked improvement in Ginger. Today, Ginger climbed approximately six to eight steps at the dog park and climbed approximately eleven steps at home without any prompting. This was a miracle and definite marked improvement.

I highly recommend this facility to anyone searching for pet rehab. By the way, I leave my office weekly to make this trip from Solano County. I would not travel this distance for a subpar office. This clinic is amazing and I truly am grateful for all the love they put into their work. Carla Sims-Cardwell, CEO MobileIdentityServices@gmail.com ~Fingerprinting & Notary Services~

Excellent customer service even during the restrictions related to Covid19. The staff are very positive and communicative. My dog has been going for three weeks now for hydrotherapy and Cold Level Laser Therapy for concerns around arthritis mostly, and we are already seeing improvements in her stamina and energy levels.

My dog had a serious shoulder surgery elsewhere. Went here to Dr. Troy for rehab the surgeon said we needed. She explained everything to me. Then she said my dog was doing remarkably well. I went in assuming they would tell me I needed 10 sessions on the underwater treadmill for $1,500 or something like that. Instead she said he was doing so well he didn't need that and sold me an inflatable half round and told me to do exercises with him on it and come back in six weeks.

They could have sold me a lot of unnecessary service and run up my bill but didn't. I sure appreciate an honest company who does what is best for the client rather than their own wallet.

Fabulous facility, wonderful staff. The pain management specialist for my girl Isabella's therapy was so warm and caring and took time to explain everything we were doing to help Izzy recuperate from her knee surgery. This is a great place to get rehab for your injured pet!
