From the top of the nose to the tip of the tail, we give the most thorough exam possible to make sure that we find problems while they're still small. By catching potential health risks early, we can help ensure the longevity of the cats life. Dental disease can result in bad breath, painful chewing, and tooth loss. It can also cause bacteria under the gum which can travel to heart, kidneys and liver. A professional dental cleaning is required to remove plaque and tartar from a cat's teeth and to assess the health of the mouth.

We love Cats Vet and couldn't as for better care for our cats. They truly care about their patients as well as the families of the 4 legged friends. Dr Reagan is always available to answer any questions you may have. The office staff is very friendly as well and willing to answer any additional questions you have.

Most disappointed in this place. BUYER BEWARE! I bought their "Kitten Plan" to cover my Freya for visits for the first year of her life. Came in for a Pre-op appointment to be fixed, charged 58.00, which was fine they credited that toward the balance. She came in for her surgery which was part of the plan. We have to drop them off in the foyer, the girls come out and get them and we are in phone contact with them for updates.
I come to pick up Freya and what I found out was that she had diarrhea right before surgery but no one decided to let me know or even give me the option of rescheduling the surgery. I had opted to get an additional Laser treatment for pain which was not covered under the plan. So, along with that and the additional 90.00 they said she needed to have because of her diarrhea it ended up costing an additional 114.00.
They could have called to let me know, I probably would not gone with the they optional laser treatment. Then trying to schedule post-op appointments were like pulling teeth. I simply asked for an estimate on how much these would cost me because i didn't feel like giving them more money since the "Kitten Plan" already cost 695.00. Two appointments came and went and they never bothered contacting me on that point. So BEWARE they love to nickel and dime you for everything!

A judgemental cult. Stopped treating my cat with her prescribed medicine that she took for 2 years because I declined a 300 dollar blood and urine test. They had the balls to say it was due to concerns of her weight loss. My cat has always fluctuated in weight and if they really were concerned about my cat they would have kept filling her meds that she was already on for 2 years. Other family members of mine have gone here and they also have bad experiences. I would suggest North Gratiot vet not to far from there.

Today was the first time I brought Albus to Cats Veterinary. I had previously taken him elsewhere and was unhappy. My first interaction with the staff here was incredibly exciting and they seem to really care about my kitten. As a first time cat owner there are alot of things I do not know right now, they explained to me the importance of each vaccine and why the kittens should have them.
I had already had a good feeling about coming to this vet when I read reviews prior and I am now fully confident in coming back here for my little buddy for years to come. They were so kind, engaging, and genuinely happy when I was speaking with the.

The worst veterinary experience of my entire life. My cat is 17 and is having severe kidney issues. I voiced my concern that I didn't like the idea of leaving my cat in the doorway: for voicing this concern I was told " If you don't like it, you can go somewhere else". I said " ok whatever, walked back to my car. Then the rude and unprofessional vet calls me back and says " I'm not going to treat your cat because you were rude to my employee". Is this no longer America?
It can't express my opinion? Again my cat is 17 years old, and this was an emergency and they were looking to make a ton of money off of me. I get treated like this. God only knows what they did to my cat for that 2 minutes between me putting him in the doorway and me getting that call. Take your pets literally anywhere else. These " Karen's" aren't interested in helping anyone.

I only started seeing this vet in April 2020, right after covid started. But they've helped me so much. They're slightly pricey but out of the local vets I searched, they have the best rating AND specialize in only cats! They've helped all 4 of my cats at different times, including saving one of my baby's lives with emergency surgery.
I cannot thank them enough. As long as I live in the area, I will continue going back. I hope one day (after covid, if that happens) I can go inside the building and see the office and actually meet the staff.

A dry food diet leads to chronic UTIs, urinary crystals, bladder &/or kidney stones & eventually, kidney disease. Cats have a low thirst drive because they evolved from desert dwelling cats. They'll never, ever choose to drink enough to stay healthy. They MUST get almost all of their water needs from food - canned food. Even cheap canned food is better than expensive dry food.
This is a scientifically proven fact. Over the span of 2 decades & 3 cats which suffered from all of those things listed above, Cats Veterinary charged me for bank breaking treatments, foods, procedures & tests yet never one single time told me what was causing these ailments or how to prevent them. A member of my family was recently certified as a cat behavior specialist. She has opened my eyes to how crucial proper nutrition is to feline health. There's no reason for Cats Veterinary not to know this stuff!

I brought my 13 year old cat here for some dental troubles. Dr. Vani’s care for him was exceptional. She educated me on his issues and the best treatment options. The care provided by the staff was equally as exceptional. I am glad to say that his is back to his former happy self!
I could tell from our first encounter the benefits of bringing your kitties to a clinic that specializes exclusively in feline care.
Highly recommended to any and all cat owners!

For a cat specialist vet service they don't know anything about cat nutrition. The doc recommends I buy (from them, of course) a dry cat food with peas as #1 ingredient & 40% carbs. Dry food leads to dehydration leads to chronic urinary infections leads to crystals &/or stones leads to kidney disease. High carb food leads to bladder &/or intestinal inflammation &, eventually, diabetes.
Come on, Drs. Reagan & Vani! Current, researched feline nutritional requirements are posted on catinfo.org; a non-profit, non-sponsored site. Shame on you for your easily avoidable ignorance. Shame on you for charging a FORTUNE to send cats home worse off than when they started. & shame on you for continuing to declaw when it is proven to result in chronic life-long pain for 80% of cats.

This place lacks communication skills to say the least. My fiance called two weeks ago and spoke with savanna to set up an appointment for today to get our cat neutered because we're getting married this weekend and won't have time to do this for over 2weeks when we get back into Michigan and she completely failed to mention that it would only be a pre op appointment today and that we'd have to set up another appointment to get him fixed.
Even though my fiance explained the urgency of this appointment weeks ago and we were a new patient so we don't know the way they do things but it's very unorganized and unprofessional. Because when we called to ask about how long our appointment would take today and she told us that she failed to mention the pre exam has to happen first and that what we initially scheduled for wouldn't be happening she was rude and acted like it was no sweat off of her back. So needless to say if you want crappy service or to be rigged around with multiple appointments I guess this is the place for you.

Our first experience with them was bringing in our very "peculiar" cat. Not a big fan of humans other than us. They were wonderful with him!! Now, I've just brought in a sickly elderly cat that showed up at my door. They got him in as soon as they possibly could. This old man kitty is on his way to recovery and good health and I am so incredibly thankful for their wonderful hospitality. Great communication, thorough and explain everything! 10/10 recommend!

Sadly, our beloved Otto's visits were his last. The compassion and support shown by their doctor and staff in helping our family to cope with this tremendous loss were invaluable. The front office staff has a candle display which tells all visitors that a family is bidding goodbye to their precious friend.

My cat presented with a Urinary Tract Infection on a Friday night. I researched vets in the Macomb/Clinton Township area for hours looking at reviews trying to find a trusted Vet since my older Vet had lost my confidence. I called CATS first thing Saturday to see if they could get my cat in. They charged me an emergency Vet fee to get me in. The staff was kind and patient and had a wonderful bedside manner.
That was it! They sent me home with only pain meds after the blood work showed no bacteria in her urine, but said she had a very angry bladder(Whatever that means). I never should have let that happen but I was trusting them. They wanted to wait for the culture to grow over the weekend so they could see exactly what bacteria it was. Well, by the time Monday came, my cat was very sick.
They had to put her on IV and move her to the emergency area. Within six hours they called us to say her blood pressure had gotten so low and they didn't have the medicine they needed so they suggested we take her to Veterinary Referral Services in West Bloomfield. We did this immediately. Within 30 seconds of being at Veterinary Referral Services, they properly diagnosed her after looking at her blood work from CATS.
The issue that need to be treated wasn't her blood pressure it was Kidneys and pancreatitis. Something CATS should have know by looking at her blood panels on Monday. My little Peach died five days later from heart failure. She was so sick by the time we got her to Veterinary Referral Services Monday evening. I feel this could have been all avoided if Dr Reagan had just prescribed an antibiotic on Saturday.
She had more th an 48 hours for her bacteria to spread and make her deathly ill. I am writing this review in hopes that someone else's cat will be saved by NOT going to CATS if they are sick. Veterinary Referral Services in West Bloomfield is where we will go from now on with our remaining cats. I feel CATS is very under qualified if you have a sick cat.
They still need many years of experience to be able to help your sick cat. If you have a healthy cat and are going for a well check, they are certainly the Vet to see, but if you have a sick cat and want them to live, I would go somewhere else.

Do not use this veterinary hospital for radio iodine treatment for your cat. Even though I questioned them on the dose that they would use, they over dosed my cat and she is now hypothyroid! The retiring veterinarian, ( Dr. Dan Marshall) who started the practice years ago was very rude when I questioned him on what I had heard about too high a dose of radio iodine treatment.
He was wrong and my cat paid the price. They are stuck in the 1980s. I found out afterwards that any of the other places that perform this treatment ( Oakland Veterinary Specialists, and Exclusively Cats are two of them), give a much lower dose which is much better for the cat. The other place I would not use is Kentwood Veterinary. They would not disclose what type of doses they use.
Do not go to a place that is not willing to tell you how they dose - chances are they use too high of a dose. Several other veterinarians who do the radio iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism in cats, were aghast when they heard how high a dose Cats Veterinary used on my cat who was only mildly hyperthyroid. The young veterinarian( Dr. Vani),w ho is taking over for Dr. Marshall was not aware of what a "thyroid storm" was. Any veterinarian that practices radio active iodine treatment, needs to be aware of this possible fatal effect.
