Carol Stream Animal Hospital

I recently relocated to Illinois and I found this animal hospital near my home, so I am happy that I found a vet for my cats. Service was fast, staff were friendly and professional. The vet was very informative and treated my cat with a lot of care.

For all they help and caring love, they gave us and to our baby name. Sharik . He was our best friend 19 year old cat male..We miss him sow much.every day. I am new to the area. I've asked friends and family if they were happy with their vet. No one could give me a definite answer. That was troublesome, since my babies (Shi-tzu's) are our life. Most answers were I wanted someone that was close to home. So that's what I did, I researched vet close to home the reviews said enough. My experience with Dr. McCarthy has been ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! The Entire staff from the 1st phone call through the meeting of the Doctor. I couldn't be more pleased. Our babies are in LOVING hands!

Really disappointed with the service here. Refused to let us come in with our puppy and he, according to them, was aggressive and acting out so he needed to be sedated during visits. Spent all this money on sedatives which didn't even work for him. Was thoroughly confused by his behavior there because he is so well rounded and adjusted at home and around new people (albeit a little shy at first).

Very angry at the comments made about how they assumed he was going to be aggressive in the future and he's trending to become an aggressive dog in general. incredibly judgmental considering they only knew him from those visits. Took the pup to a new vet and literally no issues, not one. The new vet even said he had no behavioral issues she was concerned about! I feel terrible bringing my new puppy here for his initial experiences with the vet. IMO go elsewhere for care of a new puppy/any dog going through a fear period.

Curb side feature for health safety. Inform you all issues you pet is experiencing.

Good people. Clean. Very nice doctors But to much restricted. They going for store s restaurants but Here have to explain everything by phone Crazy!

They are the reason my dog is still alive after an infection in her leg from a previous surgery. Also very kind and compassionate.

Over a month ago, I woke up to my pet chinchilla making a horrible noise. Anyone who has had an exotic pet knows that a good vet is difficult to find at the best of times. But she needed help and Carol Stream Animal Hopsital was literally only a few minutes away. They not only got me in the same day, they treated Norma Jeane as if she were their own pet.

She ended up needing surgery a few weeks later after the initial problem was treated and Dr. Gonnering couldn't have been more helpful. She not only understood that Norma Jeane was family but that I was also concerned. My little furry one has made a complete recovery and I know it's in no small part to the wonderful staff there. From the receptionists to the techs, they all deserve a huge thank you. If I or anyone I know in the area needs a vet, I am definitely recommending Carol Stream Animal Hospital.

We adopted an elderly cat from the shelter in December 2020 and have loved our experience at Carol Stream Animal Hospital! Our cat had some eye issues requiring medication which was so easy to get through them. Sadly, she was later diagnosed with diabetes. We have worked VERY close with Dr. Contreras, with bi-weekly phone conversations monitoring her levels and insulin. Sadly, we made the difficult decision to put her to rest. Dr. Contreras has always been honest and supportive of what ever decision with made, providing his expertise along the way.

He knew how hard it was for us to imagine bringing her in for euthanasia, and even recommended a home euthanasia company to make it easier for us. I cannot say enough about Dr. Contreras and the entire staff here. Their knowledge and true emotional support is so genuine. Our cat hated the drive to the vet, but loved the people and was so relaxed around them each time.

I think that speaks volumes about their care and personalities. We will only be going here with our future pets because the trust is there and they have proved that they have exceptional care and huge hearts!

On Saturday morning May 15, 2021 our beloved dog Rex suddenly became gravely ill. Carol Stream animal hospital was the only veterinary clinic that made itself available to us because they offer urgent care appointments. They were wonderful with our dog and with us as we had to make a very difficult decision. Thank you, Dr. McCarthy & Olivia!

This place is the best!! Dr. Contreras and the entire team are amazing. They are professional and caring with every thing that they do. We had to put down our sweet girl there and they were so comforting. Made us feel as though we were family! They are extremely upfront about their fees and there is no gouging going on just fair and reasonable pricing. Would not dream about taking any of our fur babies anywhere else!!

Carol Stream Animal Hospital has good veterinarians and vet staff. They are all kind and very caring people. They are very thorough when assessing my 2 dogs. My dogs really enjoyed the veterinarians, and they all have been very helpful with getting my dogs feeling better. I felt confident that my older dog was in good hands with this staff and I knew when it was time to say me goodbyes to her. I felt very supportive with the decision to end my dog's suffering and was at peace with it.

The staff and service at Carol Stream Animal Hospital is the BEST! They go above and beyond to see your pet when they are not feeling well and fit you in the schedule. Diane is just fabulous, the techs are warm and friendly, and the vets are awesome.

We recently moved to the area and hadn't yet found a new vet when I found a lump on my cat's neck. I was nervous about picking a place without a personal recommendation from anyone I know, but Carol Stream Animal Hospital was the closest vet so I picked them. It was busy around Christmas but they got us in within a couple of days, and were able to quickly determine the lump seemed to be a mast cell tumor. Dr. Contreras has been incredibly empathetic and kind throughout the whole process, and when I've called with questions while he's out of the office, the other vet I spoke with was incredible as well.

The vets are very knowledgeable and they understand that even my "silly" questions come from a place of care, and are happy to answer anything. My cat's surgery went really smoothly this last Monday and they sent us home with meds that seem to really help her. This has been a very pricy process but it's worth it for my girl, and I'm happy that her care team has really shown up for our family during this hard time.

Caring staff who take the time to talk with you and review options.

We have brought our pets their for routine check ups but yesterday we brought our dog dobey there for the last time. The staff was so considerate to our needs and allowed our pet to pass on in comfort and dignity. The process went so smoothly and seeing his suffering end helped me so much with the grieving process. Thank you to all the staff that took care of our beloved pet and us!

Dr.Contreras is so kind and caring with our dogs. Our 11 year old Cavalier was diagnosed 3 years ago with congestive heart failure. Due to Dr.C's expertise and care Rex is alive and well with medication management. We could not be more satisfied with the care we have received from not only Dr.C but his staff as well. Thank you Dr.Contreras for always taking the time to explain and discuss the care of our Rex.
