No matter what your age or stage in life, a pet can be a lovable companion. Whether you're old or young, living with others or alone, becoming a pet owner is a significant responsibility. Next to you and your family, your veterinarian is one of the most important people in your dog's life. You should identify a veterinarian for your new dog before you bring it home and arrange for a first appointment as soon as possible.
The end of a pet's life can be one of the most difficult and emotional responsibilities associated with pet ownership, whether the animal dies of old age, an illness or an accident.

Like people, dogs behaviors and health change through different stages of their lives. By knowing what to expect, you won't be thrown off balance when your dog suddenly adopts a unexpected behavior or shows signs of "unlearning" behaviors you thought it had mastered. Travel Because rabbits are more often prey than predator in the wild, they experience a great deal of stress whenever their environment changes.
Cats are easily stressed, which is why they depend so much on routine. As a result, anything new can be a problem for them. You need patience and consistency to give cats time to get comfortable with any changes, new people and new behaviors. Exercise In the natural environment, cats spend their days hunting for prey.

Where to start at their failures. Thankfully we moved and started at a new vet. Never did VAC reccomend a teeth cleaning, but our new vet did. 13 teeth have to be pulled, has a fistula because of infection. This on top of having my other dog on too high a dose of rimadyl. Stay away, they are inept at their job

Do NOT take your beloved pet to Village Animal Clinic - they killed my 4 yr old English Bulldog. After her shots with a clean bill of health my dog started having some respiratory distress on the drive home. I turned around and took her back to the vet. They pushed her anxiety over the edge. The vet did not give her enough sedation to calm her down.
The techs were inept and ineffectual trying to give her oxygen. They were letting her suffer and then she had cardiac arrest and died. I was not in the room at that point. Not only did the vet NOT come talk to me (not even a call hours later) a tech blocked me from entering the room where I could see my lifeless dog on the table and threatened me to not upset the vet - who was nowhere to be seen anyway. Their negligence and lack of training killed my dog.

Brought my dog in for bloody buildup in her ears. They said it was infection. Tried the ear drops for a couple weeks, didn't clear up. Went back, told me to try this ear drop next. Didn't work. Then it was a whole slew of meds because they didn't know what the issue was. That turned me off. I see your response and I appreciate it, but the second visit and second war meds didn't work either.
So then the solution was all kinds of meds even though none of your staff could tell me what the problem was. How do you prescribe meds when you don't know what the problem is?

To diagnose feline injury - cat was limping ($235.00)! A normal working person cannot afford to medically care for their pets. Prices are through the roof! What could a person do, in caring for their pet, if unable to afford vet fees? They offer a payment plan on some credit contract, like a loan on payment plan. You could very easily accumulate up to $1000.00 in vet bills as I recently discovered.
Office visit alone cost $65.00 at Village Animal Clinic in Carol Srtream. Pets are like family members, you need to give medical care when necessary, BUT, can you afford the cost? That is a real dilemma for many. And, as a result, the animal often goes without necessary medical care. This is so far past being wrong.

I love Village Animal Clinic. They have been so wonderful in caring for our new dog through his first year of life. Everyone is kind, patient and knowledgeable and they all take time to answer my questions in detail. I have never had issues making or rescheduling appointments, and they are always prompt in meeting appointment times. Our dog is doing well and I attribute a lot of that to the good care he's received at Village!

Every one of them is in good health at this point in large part to Village animal clinic. They responded very quickly when needed, In some occasions they have been able to help with really quick appointments and medicine when the need came. You can trust these people! They are Excellent and Professional all around!

This animal clinic Has a very pleasant staff and a Professional team! We have been coming to Village animal clinic for a few years now. Recently our English Labrador had a fatty tumor removed from her side. We are very pleased with the way the surgery has turned out! Our dog is extremely happy! Thanks to Dr. King and her staff! I would highly recommend taking my animal to best pet clinic.

Love the team here at Village Animal Clinic. They've adapted their practices for COVID by meeting pet owners outside for a quick chat about the reason for the visit then take the pet inside for their visit. The vet then calls the owner and thoroughly discusses any results and questions before the tech brings the pet back outside. The process is seem less, the staff is caring and gentle and the doctors truly put the pet first! Cannot say enough about how well humans and animals are treated here!

My grandparents took their dog to see Dr. Carlson and then when we got my first family dog growing up...she also saw him. And then our second...Ellie Mae. She had liver and kidney issues and Dr. Peck and Dr. Healy were sooo amazing with her and she got the best care possible. She lived way longer than she was expected to, but I believe that’s bc she had amazing doctors. And now I’ve got my own little cocker- Maisie and she’s had a handful of appointments already. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for her care!

Thank you so much for all the love and care that you show to our fur babies and to us as their humans. In these unusual times, I believe that we are still receiving the same excellent service as always, even if it looks different. We appreciate you going above and beyond to help us today! So glad we found your clinic! Thank you!

I want to thank Village Animal Clinic & Dr. Healey. They got Casey in on short notice to diagnose a problem that we knew was coming. Dr. Healey was quick and efficient and compassionate. She confirmed it was a luxating patella. She took time to go over the X-rays and sent follow up information after the visit. I’m more than happy to transfer my dogs care to this place.

The vets and staff here are always knowledgeable, kind and helpful. With the Covid 19 situation looming, they set up a very safe drive-up system for treating our pets. Imagine if we had a sick animal with nowhere to go - or where pet owners had to risk their own health to get treatment for their animals! My job is closed down but here they were, hustling cats and dogs in from the chilly parking lot all day. Nice.

We have been bringing our dogs to Village Animal Clinic ever since Dr. Carlson--Dr. Healey's father--opened this clinic. We have always been very happy with the care our dogs have received--and when they were very ill--if was such a relief to know they were getting the best care possible. Dr. Healey is presently very involved in the care of our little Mimi who has pancreatitis. I can't imagine taking our dogs anywhere else.

Great vet. They're very affordable and all the employees are so wonderful. They really care and go above and beyond for you! In bad times they are the most comforting people to be around and in good times as well! They've taught me a lot, always in kind and non-judgmental ways. I've been to quite a few vets in the area and this is the best one for combination of affordability and AMAZING staff care.

My family is new to the area and my pup had a little accident while playing outside. We took him to the 1st vet who tried to assist. $425 later, he was still in bad shape, swollen and unhappy. They told us give it 3 days before they will try stitches. We selected to try This animal hospital instead since the first one didn't go so well. After 1 visit and only $300, he was stitched up and an extremely new pup!
You could see him come back to life! They even changed his meds due to the other vet not giving anything for the swelling. He looked and acted like his old self after an hour! I was so pleased and I'm sure my little guy was too. I thank you all for the care and support you gave to us all. You were ready when we arrived, fast acting, caring, careful and loving to my dog. Thank you! They also did not charge to remove his stitches. Highly recommended!

Terrible service after 8 years here turned back on us when our dog was sick. They would not return phone calls or emails. Dog died within days! Do not go here and you will not have regrets. Much better vets in the area. They would not take accountability. My Chihuahua was only 10 and the average lifespan is 14! Devastating, her littermate cries for her. Very disappointed in Village Animal Clinic! Shameful! Negligent! Please message if you need further details.

Called three times and voice mail was full. Hmmm. POOR SERVICE. They said my cat was obese, when in fact he's extremely under weight due to him having FIV. He's under 6 pounds. Hmmm. POOR RECORD KEEPING AND NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL. When I brought my cat in for surgery I asked them to cut off all his mats while he was under. They said "we always do".picked up my cat after surgery full of mats.
They charged me $30 even though they didn't do it. They claimed the mats were post surgical, happened after the fact. WOW! FALSE CHARGES AND LIES. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY PET, DON'T BRING THEM HERE. BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS ON THESE GUYS

The clinic and entire staff deserve far more than the stars allowed. We recently lost our German Shepherd Delilah who was a long time patient of Dr. Shannons' She was elite in every imaginable way, and the only Doctor she approved of and was comfortable with was Dr. Shannon, who is just remarkable medically speaking and the true compassion, knowledge and insight she has for every animal she treats is unmatched.
I brought our new puppy there this afternoon and while it was extremely hard to even pull into the parking lot, it would be harder if not impossible to find a doctor and staff that equals this one. It's the mayo clinic for your best friend and the entire staff at the clinic, no matter what's going on, will make any situation tolerable and comfortable.

We are glad we found this vet as the staff and care they have given our dog has been great. We adopted a Wheaton Terrier puppy and have brought him here since he was 10 weeks. The staff here gives personal attention to our dog and we feel comfortable bringing our dog here. The clinic is clean and has a unique lay out where the exit and entrance are from two different areas. This makes it easy to bring in pets and get out without having to walk thru a waiting room full of animals. We forsee us coming here for quite some time.

Poochie can't wait to come in and say hello to everyone at Village Animal Clinic because he knows he's in store for tons of love and maybe some treats too! I always feel like I'm being heard and they are more than happy to listen to my crazy questions that I'm sure they have heard a million times. They even ask me if I want tea or coffee which I might take in a year or so when my energetic puppy calms down a little bit. Also, I love they are so close (about 1/2 a block from home) in case of an emergency. If you are on the fence about checking them out the first exam is free! (At time of writing this review)

I am so glad I found this vet! After being treated poorly at a couple other vets in the area I was pleased to find a place that is clean friendly affordable and not pushy. My experience in the past with other vets is the pressure to perform unnecessary tests and when you don't want them you are ridiculed and made to feel guilty. Here they give you your options and are understanding of your personal decisions.
I have an Akita and other places I have been are afraid of the breed and they show it. Not here they all love my dog. I highly recommend this vet even if you have to drive a bit to get here. All 3 doctors here are excellent although I try to see Dr Healy on a regular basis. Also want to note that their prices are fair and lower in comparison to other vets in the area.

My family and I have been going to Village Animal Clinic for over 15 years. Dr. Carlson took great care of our first golden, and Dr. Healey has been amazing with my second golden. She is a wonderful veterinarian - she always listens to my concerns and is always incredibly respectful when answering my questions. I have moved around a lot over the years for school and therefore have had to see many different vets, but the Village Animal Clinic remains my favorite.
The staff is always helpful and friendly, and I never feel like I'm being pushed into doing anything I'm not comfortable doing for my pet. Also, this is the ONLY clinic that will agree to see my dog in an emergency, even if I don't have an appointment. My dog is prone to skin rashes that come on without any warning, so there are times when she needs to be seen pronto, and the Village Animal Clinic has always been happy to help. Dr. Healey has now performed two non-spay surgeries on my dog, and both times my dog recovered beautifully.
She does things by the book and is always very honest with me regarding my dog's care. I can't say enough about this clinic and the staff that works there, and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new vet to try this clinic out. It's definitely worth it.
