Our dog Red had a sudden change tonight after some health changes this past year & he was clearly suffering. I drove him up from Faribault & the three staff onsite at 1030pm were Incredible!! We put our boy down & they were so kind. They had a special, peaceful room for us. They really helped soothe this urgent difficult decision!

Probably the best vet experience I’ve ever had! I work in the pet care industry and had a feline guest with an emergency. Called nearly every E vet in the cities, all said they were at capacity. PL was able and willing to see us just before closing. The facility was clean, staff was amazing, and they figured out what was going on with the pet in about 15 minutes. The doctor and techs were kind, helpful, efficient, informative. If I lived in the area I would 100% take my own pets here!

Absolute horrible experience. We had an elderly dog that has cancer and started bleeding from her nose. We called around 1pm to set up a time to come in and they told us it was really busy in urgent care and told us to call towards the end of the day. We called in around 6:45 pm and they told us it was good for us to come in. We packed up and drove 30 min to be told that they didn't have any space that it's too late with our dog barely breathing with blood shooting out of her nose.
I am one of the most patient happy person but I have never been treated so poorly. I hope they can sleep at night knowing they made an even harder situation worse. Please don't ever give them your business.

I first started seeing Dr. Josh 8 years ago, based on a referral from the French Bulldog Club of America as a well respected and well versed Bulldog vet. I was extremely happy with their compassion and willingness to work with my dogs' needs as well. In the last few years, Being someone involved in the pet industry, and understanding what the vet industry is going through, I have tried to look past the change in quality but it's no longer ignorable.
The staff is exceptionally rude on first contact, and seem extremely uninterested in helping, regardless of my being extremely flexible. The last straw was the day before I was bringing my 6yr old healthy standard poodle for a spay. I wanted to talk to the surgeon- I had questions and concerns. They couldn't even tell me which doctor was performing the spay, and would not entertain any reason to talk to the surgeon.
They also informed me that I would need to leave my girl OVERNIGHT where she would not have supervision after 11pm, when I am available to supervise her 24/7. Not only was that an issue- she repeatedly made comments about how "old" my dog is, and when questioned about it, says "well she's way older than all the 6 month old puppies we spay". which in itself is a disgusting comment, but if PLPH cannot spay a healthy 6 year old dog without such worry of complications, I have no faith they can handle anything more than routine visits.
Safe to say I cancelled the spay and will be moving all 3 of my dogs to another local vet who, despite being in the same stressful industry, still manages to maintain a respectful demeanor. I stand behind Dr Josh as a great vet, but the staff has made me seek veterinary services elsewhere.

If only it were possible to give no stars. On 01/12/2022 I took my baby Scarlette to see this vet. They had diagnosed her with a bladder infection and gave her meds. There was fluid in her stomach at the time. The vet in her works said "I am not concerned about Lymes disease when I mentioned it". So we then go to 01/27/2022. On this night, she was taken to the ver because her symptoms were a lot worse.
She was filled with fluid, lethargic, and several other things. The vet said she had kidney failure but blamed it on "genetics" as she claimed. We then fast forward to 02/03/2022. I took her to the vet once more at Century Animal Clinic to get a second opinion. They did testing and she tested positive for Lymes disease. So Prior Lake Pet Hospital was 100% wrong.
I called Prior Lake Pet Hospital and on the phone the owner could never say she 100% had a bladder infection. He kept saying "she could have had a bladder infection". He was also very heartless on the phone and very rude interrupting my every word. I was only able to ask him questions maybe 3 times total during the entire 30 minute phone call. It is very weird to me that she has Lymes in the very beginning and they completely missed it, misdiagnosing her with a bladder infection. Ultimately, they are to blame for her death. Had it have been caught earlier, she could have lived a little while longer.
They have not only caused me financial stress but they have also caused me a large amount of emotional stress, and I already have mental health issues that are progressing because of them not finding this sooner. I paid a total of $901.06 and spent another $170 to put her down because she was too far gone since Prior Lake did not find the diagnosis sooner.
As well, it costed us just over $300 to get another opinion from Century that ended up being the correct diagnosis. This review is to just warn everyone about this vet. I got the attorney generals office involved, as well as the BBB. This is purely to let people know my experience, and I'm trying to prevent anyone else's pet getting put down due to the negligence of this veterinary team. Please be very careful when dealing with these people. If anyone needs a wonderful vet, take your animals to Century Animal Clinic, located in Maplewood. They are amazing!

Make sure you have everything with you to pay your bill! They will keep your fur babies HOSTAGE until you pay. They also will make you drive back home to get whatever is needed to pay before you can take your fur babies out of their clinic. Does even matter if you use them as your primary vet clinic. They have policies and refuse to go against them and it does NOT matter where you live.
You will drive home and get your payment method and then return to get your baby or babies out of HOSTAGE! Plus it doesn't matter if you had surgery total left knee revision on 12/21/21 or in pain you just have to do it! So now the world is warned!

We cannot say enough good things about Prior Lake Pet Hospital/Urgent Care. We had repeated visits to Urgent Care with our senior dog. They were so accommodating and fit us in every time with short notice. The staff are beyond professional, well educated, compassionate, and responsive. The vets were able to quickly detect and figure out what was wrong with our dog, where other clinics were not.
Staff took the time to really explain the diagnosis, treatment, and care options as well as answer all our questions. We were so sad to have found this wonderful place so late in our dog's life and in the event of an emergency. They helped us keep our dog comfortable in the last days of his life and we are forever grateful with the assistance provided as we navigated this difficult process.

While vacationing, my dog ripped the nail on her dew claw. She was in pain. I Google emergency vet services. I found this hospital, called and they took us right in. Explanations were given about what would happen. I was kept updated throughout the day. Daisy ended up having surgery to remove the nail. I was able yo pick her up later the same day. I was given detailed instructions for after care. I highly recommend this place.

Our hunting dog Russell, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, had a collision with a cattail last weekend that jammed into his nose. My husband cleaned it as well as he could, but it was obvious over the next two days that Russell was NOT happy. I called PLPH during regular work hours and they were able to squeeze him in between appointments. The vet sedated him and was able to locate and remove a 3 cm stick from WAY up his nose.
We were amazed and thrilled that he was able to handle a tricky situation as quickly and efficiently as he did. We have 3 dogs and we are so glad that a friend made the recommendation. Highly recommended.

I received outstanding service from this clinic. My dog slipped and fell on the ice and needed medical attention, we scheduled an appointment with them but I got the dates mixed up and arrived a day early. Despite being there on the wrong day they were able to accommodate me and see my dog immediately. I was so relieved that they were able to get my dog in as she ended up having a broken bone in her foot.
The staff reached out with updates and billing information accordingly. This allowed for me to have no surprises and I was able to pay over the phone with them for my dogs care. I would recommend this clinic to anyone that has a pet for their friendly staff members, responsiveness, and professionalism. Our dog was well taken care of during her time there.
