I had my first appointment on September 20, 2021 after moving to North Andover and needing to switch vets. I found out about them through receiving a letter in the mail letting me know they were accepting new patients. I was able to call and schedule an appointment about one week out which was really nice considering it has been difficult with the increase in pet ownership lately.
I was able to reach them easily when I called and was able to email my dog's old files to them with no problem. Upon arriving to the appointment, I found the staff welcoming and the facility was very clean. I was able to go into the practice and the practice room with my dog which I prefer. The staff was great and was understanding after I asked them to ignore my nervous shepherd who does best meeting without having a lot of social pressure put on him in the beginning.
The veterinarian, Dr. Tanner, listened to me and made the appointment about what I was concerned about. In the past, I have been to other practices and have been grilled on everything from kibble choice, exercise (my dog is neither overweight nor underweight) and equipment (my dog wears a prong collar) which has made me feel judged even if the medical expertise was adequate.
So it was a really positive experience overall. One word of caution although there may be another way to examine, if you have a large breed dog (over 70lbs) you will have to lift the dog up onto the examination table. The room I was in, the exam table does not raise mechanically which could pose an issue for elderly owners with larger dogs. The routine examination is quite pricey I will admit but I was very happy overall and don't mind paying a little extra for such a quality experience. I look forward to future visits!

I received a reminder call from your clinic that my appointment was scheduled for 3 pm on 8/25. I arrived to your clinic at 3:10 today and called when i arrived because that's what most vet clinics are doing where they came out and take the dog. Katie answered the phone and said my appointment was set up for 3:30. To my surprise, I was early and thought it was strange because the reminder phone call i received said 3 pm. Katie continued to say " you need to either go back to your house and come back at your appointment time, We have other things to do" with insolent tone in her voice.
I told her I live about 15-20 Mins Away. She goes " i don't know what to tell you. like i said we have other things to do " again with the insolent tone. Keep in mind its not what she said its HOW she said it. " Oh Miss. you are early for your appointment. We have other appointments before you so could you wait a little bit and we will get to you as soon as we can ".
See the difference? Its a shame because I just moved to Boxford and I have 3 Dogs and a cat. I was happy to give your clinic my business but I'd rather drive extra 20 minutes to Bradford Animal Hospital where people are really pleasant to deal with. Katie could learn a thing or two from Patty at Bradford Animal Hospital.

My family used the practice prior to Dr. Tanner buying it and he took over the care of my dog as a puppy. She suffered from regular urinary tract infections as an adult, and Dr. Tanner would always pass them off as being common for a dog of that size. She then got really sick while at the kennel and they took her to the 24hr emergency hospital where they found a softball sized tumor on her kidney.
She was 11 and Dr. Tanner insisted he could successfully operate. That was on a Monday, and all week he said she was too weak to see us and Friday would be best. We called on Friday, excited to see our best friend after a week without her. We were informed she had passed. We got there within a couple hours and her body was stone cold and fully stiff.
It was obvious she had died long before and had been kept in the cooler. I hope no one has to endure the incompetence, deception, and heartache that we did. Stay away. In rebuttal to the hospital's response, there's a reason we haven't been back in over 20 years. Google and yelp reviews weren't out yet, I'm simply following up on something I should've done a long time ago and I owe it to my bestest girl.
I was just a child, and for 23 years I've had this nightmare in my head. I promise you, she was dropped off on a Monday, and on Friday afternoon my dad and I had to pick up her body and I had to dig the grave. You are partially correct though, I'm not referencing your current hospital, rather when it was located on Killam Hill Rd.
