Very nice and super friendly staff. The conversation with the vet dispelled all of ours concerns about our pet, she explained the examination method and possible treatment. We got answers to all our questions. The waiting time for the test result was quick. We are appreciate very much the fact that we were able to visit the same day we called.

I have been super impressed with every interaction that I have had with this vet. They went out of there way to make sure I could be with my 16 year old pom during his final moments during the pandemic where other vets were not allowing. It is clear that the staff here truly care about animals in every interaction. They have gone above and beyond to help me make my appointments easier (holding my pet while I paid and holding doors open when I had my hands full).

Very good Veterinarian Hospital! Everyone was so nice from the receptionist the Nurses and the Veterinarian. I told them that I was on a budget so I was quoted how much everything cost and where I was on the total and I was able to stop where I needed to. My dog Kaidyn of course was nervous, most animals are when they go to the doctor well most humans are too. My dog was treated real nice and I was able to get everything he needed at the time of visit without going completely broke. Great place to take your pet.

We were very impressed with the staff and service we received today. Dr Macrath was very thorough, and went over his exam of our dog who has been showing some pain when getting up. He took the time to contact our vet in Arizona, get the x rays and go over them before we arrived. We now have a diagnosis and a treatment plan in place. The staff was friendly and welcoming also.
The price was extremely reasonable and we have already arranged to have our dog boarded there when we attend a wedding next month. We strongly recommend Kulshan Veterinary and Dr Macrath!

When you need a surgery done on your dog you need to go to Kulshan, with the most skilled vets! Excellent and quick work. I knew my boy was in very capable hands, he went under for knee surgery and is recovering very well. A major surgery should be done by a professional and they are that and more at Kulshan! Go here, your pet will thank you.

Took my cat's urine for culture on 4/1, should take 3 days to process. I called them after 6 days to find it was never processed. Receptionist told me to just be late for work the next day & bring cat in the morning. I drive 2 hours a day commuting to & from home/daycare/work. I brought cat in after work & daycare on 4/8 to retrieve another urine. sample.
I had agreement with vet that I was not being charged again because I already paid for a test they never did. On 4/12 I call for test results & am rudely told someone will call me tomorrow. On 4/13 vet says cat has a uti (been dealing with it since 3/17 when I took her to AEC). He recommends a 14 day antibiotic shot. On 4/16 I bring her in.

We had an emergency situation and they answered the call and helped us out right away. They were not our regular vet, but no questions asked they got us in and went above and beyond. The staff were so. compassionate and caring to the situation and even brought out tissues, water and lollipops for my boys to help us calm down. They saved our Misty's life and we are so grateful.

I trusted my dog at Kulshan vet for a couple years, but not anymore. What encouraged me to stop bringing my pet to Kulshan was when he was stung by a bee. He began to swell and have itchy red hives all over his body and had a very hard time breathing. Kulshan brought him back within 3 minutes and said he had an already existent "skin condition" and that it was nothing to be worried about.
I knew he was stung by a bee and going into anaphalytic shock; I rushed him immediately to Emergency Care because I knew Kulshan was minimizing my dogs health issue. He was given an epinephrine shot immediately and told that he had a severe allergic reaction. I will never go back to Kulshan because I do not trust that they care deeply about every animals emergency.

This is the best vet I have been to. I always come away feeling understood. We recently had to say goodbye to our dog, something I've not been through before. The process was explained to us and the staff was helpful and understanding. The personal card we received that was signed by the entire office, was so unexpected and kind. I've had nothing but great experiences here.

This veterinary hospital is also now located in Ferndale, WA, not far from I-5. I have received prompt, courteous service at both locations, and pricing is very competitive. They did not try selling unnecessary procedures or meds, although we explored possibilities and I was able to make a well-educated choice about a treatment plan. They were very patient and gentle with my elderly dog.

We actually love Kulshan and wouldn't take our pets to any other vet. We have a number of dogs that they take care of. In the last year they have helped us say good-bye to a few of them. BUT. while Drs Erickson, McGraff and Stanfield have all done great jobs at euthanasia with our dogs, Dr Jordon however needs retraining or maybe just stick with cats.
She is a nice person but be sure to keep your dogs away from her. Our dog was suffering enough and was there to end his suffering but she had difficulty getting the euthanasia drug into our dog and he began suffering as he tried desperately to breath his last breath. It was heart breaking to watch. It was an emergency for us so we had little choice as to which Dr could help end his pain but this is not the first time we (and others we have spoken with) have had to deal with her. Again, we have heard she is great with cats but she should be kept away from your dog.

We had to take our 16 yr old mini schnauzer in to be euthanasia yesterday. We were traveling through the area & could only go by what people said on Yelp. Everyone we saw was so kind & very compassionate here. I can only say thank you for handling this stressful situation for complete strangers with such kindness.

My dogs have been seeing Dr. Stanfield since 2013. Overall, we are pretty happy with service. Lately, Dr. Stanfield and Dr. West have taken a big step forward and are learning the ways of positive reinforcement training with our favorite trainer Amber Todd of Embarking the Pet Dog. This is HUGE and not to be taken lightly. Essentially, this means that as a patient of Kulshan, we are pretty much guaranteed only compassion and kindness when it comes to the way our dogs our handled while at the vet. Furthermore, positive rewards based training demands a deeper understanding of canine behavior (and I don't mean in the Cesar Milan/Cedarwoods way - this is all anecdotal bullshit and you should proceed with caution) as sentient beings with a negative psychological reaction to force, intimidation and pain.
I have worked so hard with my dogs to ensure that they perceive going to the vet as a positive experience to the point I have counter conditioned them to vet handling techniques (teeth and ear checks, body exams, blood draws, nail trims, temperature measurement, etc). I rest assured that Kulshan will work with me to continue this trend with my dogs for not only my dogs happiness, but also the safety of the clinic staff.
There is absolutely no reason going to the vet need be traumatic for anyone. As far as treatment goes, this is a pretty traditional clinic and that is exactly what you should expect. If you are a raw feeder or more cautious around vaccines, you need to be prepared to stand firm and advocate that your animals are cared for accordingly. I am never pushed during regular visits, but I'm constantly reminded that vaccines are due despite positive titer results.
This is fine, my vet is only covering himself as far as liability goes, but as long as I have positive titer results, I will never needlessly vaccinate. Anyway, I am now recommending this clinic more based solely on the fact that I know positive rewards based techniques are well understood and actively practiced by both Dr. Stanfield and Dr. West. Again, do not take this lightly.

If you live in the Lynden area you don't have too many choices of places to take your pet. We brought our cat here when we first got her and she was taken good care of. We brought our dog here when we got her and the same thing. We have come in with a sick pet before and it seems they are always looking (and quick to add to the bill) to upsell on products on the shelf.
Be sure you need them! They seem to take good care of our dog when we have her boarded here as she comes home happy (maybe a little less obedient after jumping and playing without any rules)
