We are located on Mt Baker Hwy just outside of Bellingham on the roundabout at the intersection of Mount Baker Highway and Smith Road. We are approximately 9 miles East of I-5 & Exit 255. We are a family operated veterinary clinic and have been providing personalized pet care since 1986. Everyone here takes a great deal of pride in the services we provide for the people and pets of this community.Besides providing conventional surgical and medical treatment for dogs and cats, we also offer alternative treatments including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, massage, therapeutic laser, and stem cell/platelet rich plasma therapy.

I've been working with Mountain Vet since 2019. Since starting here I have collected three of my own kitties who each have unique and fabulous personalities and make me laugh every day. I have had animals my entire life and love working with them. I continue to work on my education part time while I work here full time.
Mountain Veterinary Hospital is capable of performing many different types of surgical procedures, from simple outpatient procedures to complicated orthopedic surgeries. We realize that your pet is a beloved member of your family, and that any time your pet requires surgery, it is stressful not only for your pet, but also for your family.
One of the most common, and yet one of the most overlooked problems affecting pets is dental disease. Since pets do not brush or floss their teeth, they are much more prone to dental disease than humans are. Many pets with dental problems may be in a lot of pain, but since pets are not able to directly communicate with humans, this pain may go unrecognized.
At Mountain Veterinary Hospital we practice Holistic Medicine where the whole patient is evaluated (complete history and physical exam), not just a single symptom or disease. We believe this approach is more likely to result in a positive outcome, because it is often the case that what appears to be affecting only a small part of the patient is in reality affecting many parts of the patient.

This vet clinic saved my dog from the unthinkable. I really appreciate the vet, staff and basically anyone who helped me and Dolly. I want to be short and simple: always get a second opinion for your pets in an emergency. I was told the wrong thing and panicked thinking my beloved dog would have to be put down or given to a rescue. She is my pride and joy and they were never judgemental and have always been so nice to me and her. I appreciate it so so much. It went from worst case scenario to best case. Mountain vet is AMAZING! You can tell the vets there genuinely care about your animal. My cat has a UTI. I called literally every vet in Whatcom County (except mountain vet because I didn't know they existed) and every place was like no sorry can't see you, we're fully booked. But mountain vet got her in SAMEDAY like literally 2 hours after I called.
I was about to have to take her to the animal hospital so thank goodness for Mountain! They not only helped my cat, they saved me tons of money by not having to go to AEC. Thank you so much team at Mountain Vet!

Saved Bailey my Chihuahua's life after she got bit by a German Shepherd puncturing her stomach and her kidneys were protruding from the wound. They charged half what the other veterinary places wanted to charge and even offered a payment plan. They made the extra effort to call and check up on her after her surgery.

I USE to love this Veterinarian office! I DID recommend them to anyone. NOT ANYMORE! I have brought my PREVIOUS Dashchunds( Whom recently passed away) to them for years. I have spent LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THERE.THOUSANDS! I had to kennel my dogs for a few months due to a house flooding, surgeries, shots, getting teeth cleaned. and pulled, emergencies, cremations of my two previous dogs.

My family and I have 4 dogs and a cat. We have been going to Mtn Vet for many years after having a poor experience elsewhere. The Dr's and staff are AMAZING. The Dr's are very well educated in the best medical care for your fur babies. I would recommend them to everone. I have also boarded my elderly dog there and had no issues with quality care. My dog suffers with incontinence due to his age and sometimes a wet bed cannot be helped.
The boarding kennels are very well kept and there is someone there to care for them over the weekends and in the evenings. I hope you do not let one bad review keep you from taking your pets to this facitlity as I feel it is the best care in the county. Thank you Mtn Vet for all that you do for my fur family.
