Dogwood Veterinary Hospital provides treatment and preventive health care with the same dignity, compassion, and courtesy for our clients' pets as we would do for our own pets. We enhance and prolong our patients' quality of life and educate our clients concerning all aspects of their pet's health care including physical and emotional needs. We show how much we care, not how much we know. We provide such service that ensures the human/animal bond is developed, strengthened, promoted, and celebrated.

Our practice was established in 1977 by a large animal veterinarian working out of his home with only one ambulatory vehicle. From that humble beginning, our practice grew to be known today as Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Laser Center. We have set the standard for quality veterinary care throughout Coweta County and were the first facility to offer 24-hour Emergency Care to our clients.
At Dogwood Veterinary Hospital, we are always accepting applications for employment. We enjoy adding team players to our hospital veterinary staff! We are serious about our work and like our employees to be well-rounded people with a positive attitude. All applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check prior to hire.
Because our veterinarians believe strongly in prevention and early disease detection, we recommend twice yearly exams for all pets in. In addition to these vaccines, our veterinary team recommends including regular blood work to identify diseases. We also recommend checking your pet's stool twice yearly to identify intestinal parasites which can affect both their health and the health of your family.
Orthopedic cases involve conditions that affect your pet's skeletal system, including bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Orthopedic abnormalities can affect the mood and quality of life of your pet. These abnormalities may be a result of trauma, cancer, congenital disease, breed predisposition, as well as osteoarthritis, a progressive and degenerative disorder of the joints.

I had my first visit here last week for my fur baby and had the best experience! I can honestly say I have switched over to Dogwood for good! Christina and Dr. Horsley were amazing. They were very thorough and detailed in getting to the root cause of the issue which I have never experienced at a vets office before. They gave me so much info on how to help him. Doctor Horsley and Christina loved on my pup the whole time and made him so comfortable

I've taken two of my cats here when they were very ill - one recovered and continues to live a happy, healthy life while the other sadly was just too ill and the difficult decision to say goodbye to him had to be made. In both cases, Dr. Thomas and the staff here at Dogwood have been nothing but compassionate, patient, and caring - especially when I had to make the decision to say good bye to one of my cats.
They let me come and visit him, sit with him, and made sure that when the time came to say goodbye, I had the ability to be there with him and to hold him close. I cannot recommend them enough. I don't think I'll ever go to any other vet in the Atlanta area. They made a brutally difficult time into something much less awful because of their love for animals.

Very kind and knowledgeable doctors and doctor assistants. My kitten Pumpkin was seen for an eye infection. He hasn't had much experience going to the doctor yet so he was hissing and frightened, but they very quickly made friends with him and were able to give me directions for how to get him well plus do a through examination of him. I'm pleased that my little guy now has an established vetinary practice we can go to where he will receive good, compassionate care and the veterinarians are so well versed in his medical needs and cat psychology!

We brought our puppy, Butters, in on 2/4 to get the rest of her shots and had a great experience! The vet tech, Cristina, was super helpful and Dr. Thomas was very knowledgeable! Butters had a small allergic reaction to the shots and they were very helpful and held her for observation for a few hours! We will definitely be back for any future animal care needs!

The staff at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital in Newnan, GA., love their jobs give love, care deeply for the animals in their care, and are compassionate. Jazzy was bleeding from her rectum. I was crying, shaking, scared of losing my toy poodle. I met Tracy, the Veterinary Tech. on duty that day. She spoke gently and told me we would take care of Jazzy, and she gave me a tissue to wipe my tears.
I looked at her for reassurance as Jazzy had to leave the examination room for blood work and other tests. Tracy checked on me to see how I was doing as I waited. I was a nervous wreck, but Tracy's caring spirit helped me from the spiral of emotions. After all of the stress, Tracy hugged me. Excellent doctors and staff helped with Jazzy's recovery and called to see how she was doing. Dogwood is number one; in my opinion, I had another dog that died of old age, and she was well taken care of by staff. Stop by Dogwood Veterinary Hospital; your pet will thank you.

Dogwood had taken care of a couple of our babies and everyone had always been so kind and helpful. Dr Johnson explains things so well and makes sure you understand exactly what's going on. All of the vet techs (especially Gabi!) always remember you and are so loving to our dogs! The front desk girls are always very friendly and helpful. I absolutely would recommend Dogwood to anyone looking for a local vet!
