Dr. Laurie Weiser graduated from University of California, Davis Veterinary School in 2002. After having practiced in California and Florida she moved to North Carolina to purchase PIttsboro Animal Hospital (P.A.H.) in 2006. Since that time she has been constantly modernizing, remodeling and advancing veterinary medicine here at P.A.H.
Weiser and Baucom strive to offer the most modern veterinary care for your dogs and cats. We believe strongly in preventative medicine and Annual Exams to be able to diagnose and treat illnesses as early as possible. This includes appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and tick titer blood testing, internal parasite screening, routine blood work and a thorough Annual Exam.
Please visit our PAH Vaccine Program Page to learn about this exciting program that saves you money! Puppies should start their vaccines between 6-8 weeks of age. They start with their CORE vaccine DHPP (distemper-hepatitis-parainfluenza-parvo) and this vaccine is boostered every 3 weeks until they are 4 months/ 16 weeks of age.
Our recently remodeled hospital offers a comfortable, homey environment with all the modern amenities owners expect in today's veterinary facilities. We have three well equipped spacious and comfortable exam rooms, separate and quiet "Comfort Room" exam room, a large lobby to allow owners and their pets space to move around without crowding, large treatment area where we can safely perform necessary procedures, dedicated Dental Suite for anesthetic dental procedures, large well equipped surgical suite, separate Isolation Ward for ill patients and a large digital radiography room.

I usually don't write reviews but I felt in this case, other pet owners need to know. I had been bringing my pets to Pittsboro Animal Hospital for over 10 years. They have seen two of my cats and three dogs during this time so i was an established customer. During the recent pandemic one of my dogs developed an infection in his mouth due to a broken tooth.
The side of his nose had swollen up to golf ball size. When I called them to get my dog seen, they informed me that they would not see him and to find another vet. My dogs and cats are rescue animals, not special breeds but they are and were well taken care of. Several have passed away and probably one more would have if I hadn't found another vet immediately.

My experience at PAH has been one of genuine care for the animals above making money. In my many years of pet ownership, this is huge (previous bad experience in several I feel that the "puppy plan" is a good value if you start with a young dog (weeks old). On two occasions I have been pleasantly surprised that the bill wasn't higher for the service provided.
I've never felt abused although the 3 month chewable flea and tick med seems outrageously priced ($60 each). The covid protocol basically stinks - sit out front and call. This in and of itself isn't terrible but there is certainly frustration trying to even let them know you are there. I've consistently had trouble getting through on the phone while sitting out front. All in all, a good experience. Certainly recommended.

They're always so nice to our puppies even if the puppies like to go in as much as I like going to the dentist. Unfortunately they have had to help us with the end of life with 3 of ours over the years and they have helped us with facts to make the best decision, sometimes surgery, sometimes waiting, and sometimes being honest even when it is hard. We trust them and I think that is the best thing you can say about a vet.

Before yesterday I've had good experiences. But yesterday we took our 8 month old puppy to get her nails dremelled, like I have several times before. The results were terrible. The nails weren't round and had sharp edges. Plus I was charged more. Update: They made this right. Took her back and her nails look so much better!

They are soooo nice. I've taken our pet once before to another pet hospital in town, and always felt they were a bit snooty, with a balance tilted more towards profit than caring. On a second attempted visit for an emergency they didn't even care-the first appointment we could get was 2 days later. Here Pboro Animal Hospital came to the rescue, treating the emergency for what it is. Everyone was super nice and sensitive to our needs, and clearly animal people. So glad I finally have a pet hospital I can recommend without hesitation.
