Our hospital was established in 1965, and is one of two practices in Orange County to have 25 or more years of continuous membership in the AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association). This group is reserved for those small animal hospitals who maintain the highest standards of patient care, diagnostic tests, pharmacy control, client service, human resource management, medical record care and facility upkeep. We pride ourselves on a long legacy of recommending the standard of care that falls into the question, "What would I do if this were my dog or cat?"
Services
San Juan Animal Hospital is a high quality small animal veterinary hospital. We have been serving South Orange County since 1965, and our clients come from all of our immediate area, and also from San Diego and Los Angeles Counties and beyond. We are a full service facility offering medical and surgical care.
Every surgical procedure and sedation/anesthetic event has a potential risk of complication. Some of the complications can be very serious and some can be terminal. We pride ourselves in minimizing these risks for your pet to a remarkably low level by building in a few safeguards. Food and bottled water- 7 day supply for each pet, Food dishes, Blanket, towel, or newspaper for warmth, Collar and leash for dogs and cats; I.D. tags should always be on pet!San Juan Animal Hospital understands the budgeting that goes with long term and monthly medications.
Many of you have had the opportunity to meet Dr. Chandler who has been with us part time for several months. We are very excited to now have her as a full time associate veterinarian. Dr. Chandler is native to Orange County and is excited to be here in South County practicing Veterinary Medicine since earing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of California, Davis, in 2011.
We have all been raised with the understanding that vaccinations can protect our pets from disease. Vaccines have unfortunately been associated with increased risks toward developing some serious internal problems, including cancer and immune-mediated diseases. Our profession is working on defining the line between "over-vaccinating" and "under-vaccinating".

I've been coming to Dr. B for a decade now and every time he and the staff go above and beyond to address my concerns and take the time to explain the situation with my dog. He's never recommended any unnecessary tests and his pricing is very reasonable. Huge shoutout to Suzi who has been so helpful and treating my dog like her own. Highly recommend!

Today was only our second visit, but WOW the staff here are so kind and the care for my dog has been very thorough. Dr Blanco & Dr Mantecon gave in depth explanations of what was going on with my dog which I had not received at my previous vet. I even received a hand written note in the mail welcoming me which blew me away. This level of care is top notch and I will recommend them to all of the dog owners I work with!

Tuesday night I was told my lil dude was actively dying w/ a tumor in his stomach & that he needed a vet to remove it immediately or he would be dead within the week. My birthday was also within this week & 2019 has not been kind to me. To find out my sweet man would be leaving me now, I went into shock. Dr B & this vet clinic came recommended & through a miracle he & the staff said they could accommodate Cappie's surgery Weds. morning.
I've accepted this has only prolonged his life a little while longer but I get to keep my guy at least thru these holidays. The staff was loving & professional & Cappie had each one wrapped around his tail. Doc was brilliant & the staples were very cleanly placed. We've had no issues since the surgery & I'm so very thankful for this vet being available in my desperate time of need. They're good folks. And when Cappie is happy, he smiles. Since his surgery, he got his smile back & that thrills my soul.
