Valley Equine Associates was set up in 1968 as Valley Veterinary Service and has been servicing horse owners ever since. The facility is situated 60 miles W of Washington, D.C. in Ranson, West Virginia near historical Charles Town and Harpers Ferry. We provide experienced care in equine medicine and surgery. The practice is made up of five doctors as well as an trained and experienced team.

Critical: Professionalism, Reliability Not reliable at all! They don't know how to even set up schedules for being the only horse vet around the area. You'd be better off getting a crackhead to look at your horse.

I cannot say enough about these wonderful people. I moved here 2 years ago and was very concerned about finding the right vet to take care of my boys. They understand horses. They listened to my concerns and helped me find a solution for pain in my senior appendix quarter horse; weight issues with my paint and came quickly when my OTTB colicked. They do my wellness exams, vaccinations and dentals; as well as anything else I may need for my boys. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Berkeley is an extremely caring and friendly veterinarian. I’ve known him for roughly 35 years. He always displays a high level of knowledge and expertise. Recently, we lost a horse to botulism and Dr. Berkeley went above and beyond to help us. I feel the care my horses have received at Valley Equine Associates is world class. I highly recommend them for all your equine veterinary care needs.

Most of the time they are responsive. I've had them out for wellness and emergencies, I've never had a problem with the medicine or something they did. I usually saw Dr. Carter, but I've seen a couple others as well. They worked with me when I had to last-minute ship my horses down to NC (I moved to NC last-minute). They were very understanding and worked hard to get me setup so the hauler could take them on the road. I'll miss their customer service and hope to find something like it down here.

Dr Berkley and staff have been absolutely fabulous to deal with. I can't say enough good things about the people at Valley. I have had several issues that they have helped me through with my horses over the past 6 years. Each time when I really needed them they came through before any of the other vets in the area could even get to me. Thanks Doc. Keep that great team going!
