I called to speak with the manager about my cat this morning and literally this place has the most compassion out of all the places that I've called in San Diego for my cat everybody else just seems to worry about money

I've always had a great experience here. All of the techs are great with my Cat who is older and has had skin issues. And all of the Vets are great. They have done an amazing job with this location. If you are looking for a vet in San Diego I would recommend them for cats and dogs. I bring all three of my animals here because they are top notch and trustworthy professionals.

Had spay appointment booked for my 7 month old pup one month in advance. $50 deposit. Office quoted out the door pricing for affordable care referred by humane society. 2 days before I printed paperwork that had several extra yes or no procedures one of which is IV fluids while under anesthesia. Not included in surgery which regulates blood pressure. Disappointed and confused. Xld appointment and they refused deposit return. This is delaying my spay now. Waiting to get another appointment elsewhere. Not exactly affordable.

Dr. Steib and her staff took such great care of my cat today! They got us in quickly for a pressing dental concern and got Alex the help he needed today!. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love and trust Dr Sheib! I am currently" stuck" with a corp. veterinary plan that completely misdiagnosed and tried to oversell me services for an issue with my cat for many $$$$$$. Dr Steib took care of him quickly and instead of it possibly being cancer, it was only a pimple, completely reasonable rate, professional friendly service and great care for my pet. It was worth getting a second opinion and will return for future veterinary needs. (her staff is friendly, efficient and helpful too!)

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr Steib and her staff. Dr. Steib is by far the most competent and compassionate vet I have ever encountered. She has gone above and beyond for our dogs. She's been our vet for 10 years now. She helped us battle serious health issues with our two previous dogs, such as thyroid cancer, Cushing's Disease and back surgery.

Our current dog has health issues too and we feel relieved to know she's helping us through it. Her entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. We always know our dog is in good hands when he visits Morena Pet Hospital.

Thank you Morena Pet Hospital and staff for being so amazing! They are extremely accommodating, kind, and most importantly great with my precious babies. They have fair prices, professional and companionate staff, and very thorough exams by the doctor. They give you all the information you need so you can make a decision that's right for you.

They never try to force you into anything, they give you fair options instead. I've been to a handful of vets now through the years, it is truly refreshing to find one that really cares about the animals more than making money.

Very disappointed with customer service. I'm pretty sure the women behind the phone are named Marcy or Macy and Pricilla or something like that. I've spoken with them a few times in the last 3 years that I've brought my dog there. Every single time I'm never impressed. The service there is so rude. I've made an appointment and will now be bringing my dog elsewhere. Too bad because the actual vet seemed nice.

This review is based purely off the customer service provided by Marcie/Marcy, not the general experience from the clinic. I have spoken with her multiple times over the phone and she continues to lack respect for other people. When I am asking for answers to my questions, she answers them in a condescending and belittling tone. I wasn't asking for much, just clarification. Don't know what side of the bed she wakes up on everyday, but she needs an attitude check.

Took my puppy to get neutered here. They did a great job and were very communicative during the whole process. Would recommend.

Dr Steib and her team are angels. I'm overwhelmed with their dedication to my pets, especially my 14-year old dog Smokey Pete. Their follow-up is excellent and they reply promptly to my questions and concerns.

Incredible staff, very helpful and caring. They go the extra mile. Curbside pick up and fast response.

Thank you for your service helping my dog GUS back to his healthy normal living. I could not ask for anything else except than you so much. I have been to a lot of hospitals but nothing helps. Until I come to your hospital and render me the Most excellent customer service and excellent doctors every time I come there for a Check up for my dog you made me feel important and valued. Marcy and prescila was the one I talk to and they posses and excellent customer service. Highly recommended this pet hospital

So I came to this place because my girlfriend's family used to bring their family dog there. So I took our sick cat who has been lethargic and not eating. He looked very sick with an inflamed eye and difficulty swallowing. He lost so much weight and looked very sick. We took him in on Monday December 28 and Doctor Potter took the cat in for 2 hours then gave us a call.

She simply pontificated upon the various symptoms while making no effort to diagnose our beautiful cat Couscous. She instead listed 10 to 20 tests, with their prices, that we could pay for. Typically we rely on the expertise of doctors to point us to the right direction and make a correct diagnosis however it seems in our case that she was simply trying to recommend a slew of tests in order to charge us as much as possible while providing no relief for our cat.

We were confused by her recommendation considering that she asked us to pay for a series of tests ($394. See invoice) and then to return the next day. We followed her expertise and took back our cat who they simply injected a cheap subcutaneous fluid upon begging them to give him some relief. The next day we were waiting to be notified of his lab results however around 5:30 on December 29 we became worried and called the doctor ourselves and it was clear that we would not have even received a call back if we weren't proactive in reaching her first.

They told us the tests were negative and that we can come back for more tests. The next day we took our cat who was still very sick and then they presented us with more tests with a price tag and we were listening and we were saying please help us and do whatever it takes. They charged us another ($113.52. See invoice). Then after testing him for absurd reasons they told us that his tests came negative.

I asked them to help with the infected eye and they told me that they have another test for that and that we have to pay for it but we couldn't afford that! We had to take our cat back with 104 degree fever with an almost blinded eye and no appetite, lethargic and in pain. That's how we went back after those days of consultations. Now we are nursing our cat at home after paying $500 and praying that he improves.

The only positive thing we heard was coming from a technician named Rebecca who told us to come back on Monday, as the owner of the clinic and the office manager will be back. We were very impressed with Rebecca as she seemed genuinely compassionate and wanting to help us however she was limited by her role as a nurse to help us. Still, she is the only reason why we are not completely upset and providing a complaint to the veterinary medical board yet as we are hoping that her guidance and direction will help our cat get better.

We expect this sort of behavior in treatment from an auto mechanic so it's very disappointing to see this sort of behavior from somebody who supposed to be in profession of helping animals.

My buddy of 13 years passed a couple weeks ago. through the help of Morena Pet Hospital, they helped me have his body cremated and I received his remains this week. It is a beautifully done job and we were all very happy with the results of the service. But the most special part was the hand written card from the staff that knew and cared for my dearest Jakey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I love Dr. Steibb. My dog recently passed away and she was very compassionate and always answers all of my questions. I have never had a bad experience here. The only thing that sucks is due to COVID we are not allowed inside with our pets but it's understandable with the pandemic going on.

I hate to write this review but feel that I had to.i took my cat in to get spayed everything went well so I decided to make another appointment for my second kitten. The receptionist was very nice and friendly she booked an appointment for me that day when I picked up my cat that was in for surgery. Their spaying appointments are booked so their next available is 1 month or so later.

Fast forward to 1 day before my kitten's appointment I noticed they didn't call to remind me of my appointment so I called to confirm my appointment and of course there was no appointment booked for my kitten at all. I was furious when she said there was no appointment booked tomorrow in my name for any cat spaying. She apologized but in a way like she doesn't care and said she'll check her schedule and see when her next available is and it's not until December! She didn't even make the effort to squeeze me in to any cancelations because they screwed up the appointment.

Tried to call and make an appt as a new patient and the woman who answered was extremely rude. Take your business elsewhere.

I'm veteran in distress living out of my car with 2 cats. I understand they can't board pets for free and price the boarding of to cats to $182 and was going to board them here but as soon as I asked if there was any military discount I was blown off and told they couldn't board my cats even if I paid. Suddenly there was no room at the inn, lol. Sad. I'd go somewhere that cares more about the people and pets they take care of.

Setup an appointment to spay my kitten. Paid the deposit and waited 4+ weeks for said appointment. Show up for my appointment and get told by the person who had taken my deposit that she never actually made my appointment and I would have to wait an additional 3.5 weeks. No remorse, no "we can work this out", no sorry you took time off work. If their attitude sucks this bad toward people, for the sake of your pets go somewhere else.

Recommend! Morena Pet Hospital is just about everything you need with a vet clinic. I discovered them when a friend's great dane stepped on glass at Fiesta Island. They took care of him immediately and were so efficient and kind. I now bring both of my pups there and am happy with the quality of care and cost. They are really great!

I cannot be more grateful to the awesome staff and doctors at Morena Pet Hospital my German Shepherd tore his CCL ( ACL in humans). He had TPLO surgery. He went from being a lame dog to recuperating completely. They took wonderful care of our Rocky! I would not go anywhere else

About three weeks ago my dOg was losing weight ant eating I heard this clinic was terrific and they are fantastic They are attentive to my dog and to me Amy at the front desk volunteered come to my house and administrator the injection Marcy who makes everyone feel special The veterinarians are special young ladies who are great with animals and keep you informed regarding the progress The whole staff is just terrific And I am very hard to please and they are the very best Thank you Morena Pet Hospital It is NN we 5 weeks since my dog left the Morena pet hospital and they care so much thhey continue to call aardvark make sure my dog is well This pet hospital is so busy and still everyone there cares for you pet Again thank you everyone at Morena Pet Hospital I will aagain Cooke by with bar b Que sandwich Che's to thhank everyone for caring

They are wonderful with our old, cranky cat. They have guided us into improving his health. We have taken our various cats there for decades. There's a new staff but they just as excellent. You can trust your pet's health to them.

I recently moved to LA from SD and it's time by far to leave a review for these angels. No words could do justice to what Dr Steib did for me and my girl (Baylee, my profile photo). When it was Bay's time, the entire staff was there for me. A few months prior, when Dr Steib found what was wrong, she even helped me with research. She and her staff love their patients.

Six months after Baylee passed, I adopted another angel. Everyone at Morena remembered me and were compassionate towards my loss and took the best care of my new girl (Baja dog rescue). I can only hope we find somewhere comparable to Morena up here.

Today was our first visit to the vet, my wife and I can say confidently that we have found our vets! We were amazed with the professionalism of the whole staff and the love they showed out two cats Cardi and Yeezy. Everyone came out to greet our cats and made them Feel welcomed and comfortable. Honestly words are not enough to describe our experience.

The doctor didn't cut any corners and gave our two kitty's here undivided attention. Not only Did our kitty's get personal attention but the doctor ensured we got our information and made sure that we understood everything prior to leaving the office.

Difficult review to write. Last week I had to make the devastating decision let go of my 18 y/o cat. She was my little fury ball of love for 18 years, before kids, before hubby, before San Diego. I got Nina during my first year of grad school. I was 23, she was a couple months old & fit in the palm of my small hand. She moved with me from Texas to San Diego, back to my home town in the Bay Area, CA and then back down to San Diego.

She of course came with me when I moved in with my now husband, through our wedding and two pregnancies. She was just always there. Her presence was the ultimate comfort and I miss her more than words can express. The staff and Drs at Morena were PHENOMENAL. Dr. Porterfield helped us last year when she was diagnosed with Thyroid Disease. She gave us a food Rx, which really took care of the issues for a while. Unfortunately, things got bad again.

I knew it was just going to get worst and Dr. Mahlberg confirmed, at this age. she was old, not grooming, incontinence is common. likely kidney disease. She died curled up in my lap. It was one of thee most devastating moments. But I feel immense gratitude toward Dr. Mahlberg who could not have been more compassionate & the awesome staff. Particularly one vet tech who gave us good laugh when we asked how old 18 was in cat years when she responded with total sincerity, "Older than dirt!" Thanks for that moment, it was a tiny light in a devastatingly dark day.

A few days later, I received a handwritten card from Dr. Malhberg and a sweet little booklet on coping with the loss of a pet. Thank you so much for that. I have purchased a bracelet in her memory with her name engraved that I'm wearing every day. And again, I cannot express enough thanks for the compassion Dr. Malhberg & staff provided during this experience.

Dr Mahlberg is an absolute delight. The true care and concern she has shown for our pups is very warming. Shahla in front office makes us feel like family. Highly recommend this veterinary office.

I've been going to Morena Pet Hospital for over 15 years! They always provide great service, the office is clean, the staff are kind and the doctors are honest and helpful. My fur baby is always taken care of!

Dr. Mahlberg is the best! The entire appointment went smoothly thanks to her and Jessica! Dr. Mahlberg has been my go to after my cat Lulu had gotten really sick and I've been coming to her ever since! I highly recommend Morena Pet Hospital and all their staff! It's a small but very friendly place to take your pets! Brought my bunny and the vet tech was very honest about not being used to working with rabbits! I really appreciated her honesty and loved her fun personality! The vet was also very kind and able to help my bun with his needs.

DO NOT take any animals that you care about here unless you want to be overcharged for not needed services. Every time I go there, they will have you re do all your paperwork. I have been taking my dog their since he was a puppy and have been tolerant of their excessive fees and poor service. My dog had a piece of a pencil caught between his teeth for which I brought him in. Dr. Porterfield called me 5 hours after dropping him off with an estimate of $685.

Upon asking Dr. Porterfield of the services she was recommending, she became extremely rude and angry. She said she was not comfortable providing any services since I was questioning the fees and service. She demanded that I come pick up my dog. My dog spent 5 hours in a cage for no reason. I wasted my time driving him there and then picking him up.

I took my dog to a local vet in La Jolla, which within 1 hour removed the pencil for 1/3 the cost. Morena Pet Hospital has terrible service, their doctors are rude, and they charge for unnecessary procedures at the cost to your pet and pocketbook.

Nice doctors and staff. Love Dr. Steib. she affectionately calls pet parents "mom and/ or dad" which makes you feel like she's truly caring for your furry babies.

Dr. Steib and her team are great. My dog got into an entire apple pie and damn near died. Thanks to the folks at Morena Pet Hospital, my little girl is still a live and well. We bring both our dogs here and both of them love the staff. If you are looking for a vet in San Diego, this is only place I would recommend.
