Our team is like family, and every member of our team looks forward to coming in every day to make a difference in the life of a furchild - nothing is more important than seeing your pet feeling it's best. While our practice has grown substantially over the years, we still maintain a cozy, community feel, and we greatly appreciate the relationships we have the honor of building with our patients and clients.
At Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital, we never lose sight of the fact that our patients and clients are the reason for our success. Whether you're coming to us for the first time, or have been a client for a decade, you can rest assured that our team will take the time to address any questions or concerns you may have about your pet.
Want to book an appointment? Have a question or prescription requests? Be advised, prescriptions on file may only be refilled and you will be contacted when they're ready for pick up. We'll do our best to get back to you by the next business day. If you are a new patient, you can save time by downloading our patient intake form.
Because we are a non-emergency animal hospital, and we are generally booked out 1-2 weeks in advance, unless we have a sudden cancellation in our schedule, in cases of emergency we will respectfully refer you to the nearest emergency animal hospital to guarantee your pet receives the immediate attention it needs.

I was referred to Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital (specifically Dr. Silvaberg) to care for my one year old Boston Terrier, who needed the NARs surgery. We began establishing a relationship in December 2023 where Dr. Silvaberg without a full consultation, let us know that our dog will need the full works, nose, soft palette, tonsillectomy and a laryngeal sacculectomy. We were issued an estimate for surgery right before Christmas for a high of $3,275. After needing to think through this major operation, my family and I came back for an updated estimate, which was raised to a high of $4,338, a $1,063 increase from December to May. We made an appointment to discuss the raise in price and see if there was any opportunity to work with us, with a raise in hospitalization, including a $1,000 hospital fee, for my dog to stay overnight in the doctors house. Dr. Silvaberg laughed in our face and let us know "if we couldn't afford it, go play lotto" or to "start a gofundme, because everyone is struggling right now." As if those comments were not enough, we ended the visit with Dr. Silvaberg letting us know that, "this is not about the money, it's about giving our dog a better chance at life." I left the office sick to my stomach, because if it was truly not about the money, why the harsh increase. I trusted my gut and took my dog for a second opinion and met a phenomenal vet who let me know after completeing her nose surgery that the soft palette, tonsillectomy and a laryngeal sacculectomy were perfect and totally not needed. That being said, for $4,338, Dr. Silvaberg was going to completely mutilate my puppy for a paycheck. The lack of empathy that Dr. Silvaberg has for her clients is astounding and to say I am disgusted is an understatement, please beware of this practice and trust your instinct.

We had the best experience bringing our Frenchie here for a spay and airway surgery! Dr Berg is so knowledgeable about the bulldog breed and we felt so comfortable having the procedure here. Our Frenchie did perfectly and is now breathing better and no more snoring! It’s amazing. Thank you again. Also the entire staff is warm and so helpful!

This is the best vet! Every person that works there is so kind and loves animals. Every vet is great. Dr. Berg (I think she's the owner?) is our vet and she is wonderful. If we need to see someone else I've never been disappointed. They go above and beyond. They remember me and my dog which I appreciate. She is very nervous at the vet and they will literally sit on the ground with her. We've lived in a couple different cities and I've never loved a vet more. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I wasn't gonna review this place because I'm lazy but they were so amazing and helpful I felt morally obligated to write one. This place is fantastic. Top notch work and a totally fair prices. Its sometimes feels pricey but that's just what animal care and proper medicine/treatment costs. I'd take myself here in an emergency situation if they let me

Terrible. If you're 5 minutes late they turn you away. Horrible customer service. Especially when you had a dog throwing up before arrival and couldn't get there exactly on time because your pet was sick. These people are pretensious and do not care about pets. Don't depend on them in an emergency. You won't be "special" enough.

I can only speak to my experience but it's always been amazing knowing Sunset Cliffs is caring for our pets. We've been coming here for years, everyone is always so kind and caring, they do a brilliant job in making sure our furry loves are healthy and looked after. We're so grateful for the dedicated, talented, and wonderful people who work here and, if you're an owner reading this - give everyone a raise. I'm not kidding. It's overdue. They've earned it. Raises, now.

My dog died in their care. Please, do NOT COME HERE. In addition to dying under Dr. Kristy's watch, she also expressed zero compassion towards me and even accused me of saying she was to blame. My baby Daisee is no longer here because I chose to trust this place. Prior to her moving forward with the surgery, I asked Dr. Kristy if there were any risks about the surgery.
She was so cocky that she would be fine and even told me that "she has done this many times on older dogs". I am heartbroken and disgusted by this place and the cold vets here. DO NOT BRING YOUR BABIES HERE, this place is a death wish.

So good! So helpful. They keep my dog happy. She hates all vets, including them, but they fit her in on a ridiculously booked day due to an emergency. Everyone was amazing. She is so much better 2 days later. Tried 3 emergency places first. All were at capacity. They were as well, bit at least let me describe the issue. Had me come in immediately to fix before it became an abscess

If you live in OB the convenience of this location cannot be beat. All the staff is friendly and helpful, and I don't know off hand the credentials of the vets but my dog sees Dr Silvaberg and she comes across as very experienced. Her calm and friendly demeanor is a huge plus. Due to these factors, I would seriously consider continuing to use SCAH as my go-to for veterinary care even if we moved out of OB but a clinic 5 blocks away from home is just too convenient to bother taking my dog elsewhere.

I've been going there for 5 yrs now. The staff is so polite and caring. Love Dr Berg. She's done several surgeries on my two yorkies and each time they've come out great. Never any complications after. She is a very caring and professional vet. I can't say enough great things about SCAH, the staff and the vets there. I would highly recommend them!

We have taken our dog there for a year and a half and not had any problems until recently. Our dog had a bump, so we took him to the vet. They told us he had a UTI, put him on antibiotics for 1 week and did a culture to confirm the antibiotics would be effective. After a week, our dog completed his antibiotics but we never were called about the culture results.
We had to call multiple times before we were told that our dog would need more antibiotics. In the meantime, our dog has been off antibiotics for 4 days, which should have never happened because they had the results but didn't bother calling us. I will never take my dog there again. What could have happened if we didn't continue to call for the culture results? Not to mention we spent a lot of money to get a culture. Extremely disappointed and worried for anyone's pet who is brought there. Complete negligence on their part.
