Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of the physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Depending on your cat's age and health status, the doctor will recommend annual or more frequent examinations.
Here are some questions/answers that we are frequently asked. If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at (858)483-1573. 1. What are the Hospital Hours? Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure.
There is no greater compliment that we can receive from our clients than a referral to a friend. We appreciate your confidence in us and want to reward you as well. Below is a referral card for you to pass on to your friends and neighbors. For every new client that presents this card at the time of their exam, we will credit your account $10 to be used towards any veterinary service.

We love our cats and only want the best for them, but the mere thought of having to get them in a carrier and to the vet's office doesn't seem worth it, does it? Here are some tips from CATalyst Council on How to Get Veterinary Care for Cats Without Yowls, Hissing and Bared Claws. Keep the carrier out and accessible all the time, not just when it's time to go to the vet.

Super helpful. I mentioned that I might need to go to out of country, probably Japan. The vet provided me information to make my transition for my boys easier. I appreciate it.

What a great place! Everyone we interacted with was so sweet and attentive, and genuinely care about your cat. Ashley knew right away what our kitty's problem was and explained everything thoroughly and answered our questions. So happy to have found this place and would recommend to anyone!

I brought my cat here 2 weeks ago for a checkup and because her eyes have always looked a bit strange. They told me my cat was healthy. I noticed right after the appointment that her back nails were weirdly overgrown, but assumed if it were a sign of a problem, the vet would have pointed it out. 2 weeks later, my 1-year-old cat died of some sort of internal ailment. Cheshire denied an emergency appointment for her, wasting time even calling them.

The vet I ended up taking her to commented on her eyes right away. Her liver was very enlarged. Her protein was very high. We don't know what killed her yet, but I'd put money on it that she was sick before I brought her to Cheshire and they didn't catch it. I brought my cat here because I thought cat specialists would be more likely to give my cat the highest care, that did not happen.

I brought my sick cat in today and the Doctor and staff were so helpful. They offered solutions for my boy Cayman but he was very sick and I decided to say good bye to him. They made the process so easy and peaceful. I'm very grateful they were so quick to respond. Thank you for being here for our cat community.

I like that the specialize in cats, so office visits are less stressful. Dr Middleton & Dr Young have taken care of my kitties for almost 10 years now. As they've gotten older and health issues arise, it's been to email them with concerns and they always respond right away. The techs and staff are very professional and they obviously care about our pets wellbeing.

This vet is absolutely the worst vet I have ever been to. She refused to listen to my questions, was snappish and rude, charged me for an exam which she didn't give because she was afraid of getting scratched, called my cat a "basket case", used a needle on my cat, that she had dropped uncapped onto the floor, refused to do any tests on my cat, and that's not all but I am honestly writing this not to warn others but just to vent because she was so so so bad that it's been a very long time since I went there but I'm still off about my cat being treated so poorly.
