Services
At North Dallas Veterinary Hospital, we provide top-quality veterinary care, urgent care, boarding, and grooming to pets in the Dallas community. As pet owners ourselves, we believe that preventative care with wellness exams are the keys to your pet living a longer, healthier, and happier life. As a full-service veterinary office, we offer state-of-the-art testing and diagnostics, an array of advanced care, routine and advanced surgical procedures, and many other services to provide your pet with the best possible care.
Regular nose-to-tail wellness exams, early detection, and age-specific assessments help keep your pet healthy. Many animals are good at hiding signs that something is wrong, so subtle changes in their health or behavior might be overlooked without preventive care. At North Dallas Veterinary Hospital, our treatment philosophy is aimed at prevention with early diagnosis and treatment. We would love to partner with you in helping your pet live a long, happy, and healthy life. Pets cannot tell us how they feel.
Early detection using diagnostic testing provides a complete picture of your pet's health, improving outcomes, and providing baseline results. Our staff is committed to helping you get a full picture of your pet's health through laboratory and diagnostic testing. Annual blood testing helps us determine a normal baseline for your pet.
Our experienced veterinary team provides comprehensive medical care, ranging from routine to advanced procedures and treatments. Although we handle the majority of your pet's medical and surgical needs in-house, we occasionally refer patients to veterinary specialists or specialty clinics when advanced training or equipment will be beneficial.

First time visit - long wait. First impression is good. I liked the doctor and assistant. Nice office and clean. Good coffee. Think I'll probably go back. But I don't like that they give you a paper prescription to send in to Chewy (or whoever). They won't call it in and do the fax/email authorization thing. I guess I can understand that, except I mailed it in to Chewy, Chewy never found it, so now I have to go back and buy prescription from them because my cat ran out of pills. So I think the paper prescription thing might be a hassle for the client, not the veterinarian. That's a pretty big deal for me.

ND Vet has been amazing for our dog! We were referred here by the shelter we adopted our dog from and they have been so great. We even moved a half hour away. But I still bring my dog here because I love and trust them so much. All the staff are so nice and professional and always do a great job. Highly recommend!

Our dog started having seizures after eating something in the trash. North Dallas provided excellent care to her, kept us fully informed of what was going on, and showed compassion to my 19 year old son, who was worried that his dog would not make it. At the end of the day, two days really, Princess pulled through. I was blown away by the professionalism and humanity shown by everyone there.

Dr. Ford was amazing. He took care of my Annie girl and he took his time with us, making sure that I understood everything. He was very considerate of my financial situation. I have already posted on my Facebook page about how great he is. He is very compassionate and made me feel at peace about my girl.

I brought our new puppy in for his first visit. The Veterinary Doctor and assistant were stellar and very pleasant to visit with. Highly recommend her. However, when the receptionist came back to collect payment, she walked in and noticed a brown bag on top of my for carrier and said, "someone is getting some goodies". I told her the contents of the brown bag contained the remains of my dog that had passed. Heck, they just gave me the remains.
A couple minutes later, the receptionist noticed some peanut butter in the corner, out of her eyesight, and stated she was referencing that, as the goodies. A few days later, I received a bill because the receptionist forgot to charge for additional meds. Our new puppy unfortunately had fleas. The Vet gave him capstar which should kill the fleas relatively quick.
When we got home, 15 minutes or so, our puppy was yelping and appeared to be running around in pain, scratching his head rubbing his head in the dirt. When I got a hold of him, I noticed more fleas than I could count all over his head and his body. It appeared they were all biting him at once. I tried to scratch off as many as I could but it continued for an additional 30 minuted before he laid on the ground, exhausted.
I called the clinic and spoke with TRACY. Tracy was kind enough to tell me that we had a big flea problem in our backyard. In some remote area that we don't know about. I was offended and couldn't wait to get off the phone with her. Tracy's lack of interest in our puppies immediate condition was shocking to say the least. Her knowledge of our backyard mind-blowing.
We've used North Dallas Veterinary Hospital for over 9-10 years. The Doctors are amazing and so are the assistants. I sure hope I don't have another bad experience with the help.

We love North Dallas Veterinary Hospital! The reception staff are always helpful and nice. Both of our dogs have been going to Dr. Hudson since they were puppies. Dr. Hudson consistently takes the time to explain our dogs health and walk us through the best solutions for them. She is patient and so kind.

I have been bringing my elderly dog to North Dallas Veterinary Hospital for a couple of years. Recently my dog began to have difficulty walking so we brought her into the vet. The tech told us she had a really high fever and went to grab the vet. The vet came in took a quick look at our dog (did not listen to her heart or lungs) and stated that she was old and at this point there was nothing more that could be done. Obviously, she is a vet and she knows what she was doing, but it was very disheartening to watch her glance over my otherwise healthy dog and say there is nothing that can be done, and even brought up euthanasia.
We had to ask her about her high temperature and possibly doing blood work to which the vet stated she would do that if we wanted to. Once again I realize that as a vet she knows the signs and saw that our dog was in her last stages, but I would have appreciated more compassion, and I expected her to talk to us about other options (i.e. hospice, how to make her more comfortable) and what could be done on that day, and why she didn't think anything else could help.
Unfortunately the day came when we had to euthanize our dog. The procedure was completed with my dog on the floor. (This may be standard for all vets, but wasn't a fan). We were trying to make sure our dog could see us in her last moments, which was difficult since it was a small room and she was on the floor. We pretty much had to lay on the floor in front of her to make sure she could see us in her last moments.
I will say that the rest of the staff from the techs to the front office were very helpful in answering questions, showing compassion, and helping with schedules. If/when we get another dog I will be looking for a different veterinary clinic.

I just moved to Texas and am so fortunate to have found this vet who is close to our new home. Before I was able to take him for his first appointment, my dog had something wrong with his eye. They were able to get him in within 36 hours. When I arrived, they were so friendly, easily took my previous vet records, and took my dog on time for the appointment. Dr. Caraway and the technician (Katie?) were so nice to my dog and I and they explained things as they looked at my dog. Dr. Caraway gave us options and was understanding. I look forward to our well visit in a month and know that they will take good care of my dog in the future.
