We strive to provide the best advanced veterinary care for your cats and dogs with a caring, personal touch. Your pet's health is our greatest concern at our hospital. We provide routine wellness care, in addition to care for pets who are ill or injured in the northern Twin Cities area. We have a full-service animal hospital with pet care services ranging from routine vaccinations to full surgical, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostics, radiology and ultrasound.
Services
We have only truly caring, dedicated and experienced veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians. They are our greatest strength. Kali was a pharmacy technician before she found her place with Blaine Central Veterinary Clinic. Dr Lisa Martinson graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
Surgical: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures, ranging from routine to extensive. Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics and techniques to provide that extra margin of safety, which can be especially concerning for our older or high risk patients.
They have a very nice facility and even called twice in the following week to make sure my cat was improving. Dr. Gale and EVERYONE at Blaine Central are awesome. Very capable and caring, I've trusted them with everything from routine check ups to extensive dental work on my dog and they've always been just the best.
The more time you need to wait, the more nervous and stressed your pet (and yourself) may become. When scheduling appointments, do you have a choice of veterinarians to be scheduled with? If you value having a consistency of medical care, you may wish to always see the same veterinarian. Is that possible?

We went in to put our dog down a few months back. The dog was older, but it was a little sudden how fast things went downhill so my whole family was super shaken up. We got a private room and were given as much time as we needed to say goodbye. After we told the doctor we were ready, she came in and administered the meds. As my family of 4 was sobbing and hunched over our dying dog, my sister and I heard a nurse in the back of the clinic scream at the top of her lungs "I HAVE A D!CK APPOINTMENT" And it was honestly the laugh my family needed at the moment. Also, good for you girl. 5 stars.

Had SUCH an unfortunate appointment today at this clinic which disappointed me so much since normally I love taking my pets here. I have two small dogs who have been seen by a couple of different doctors at this office. Dr. Erin particularly is WONDERFUL. Today she was unavailable and I was late getting my girls in this year, so I had to switch up who they saw.
My particular issue was with a new technician named Becca. (apparently shes been there since February?) anyways, my husband and I choose not to do Flea and Tick prevention ordinarily. We dont do a ton of walks in the woods and we always check over our girls when the tick months are around. When Becca was "recommending" (pushing!) this on me, I told her we dont do a ton of walks in the woods, we do trails or sidewalks in the city.
She then decided it was her role to tell me that ticks and fleas are everywhere. Making it clear that she was both judging AND not agreeing with my decision. I have worked in pest control as a manager of the company for 3 years. I'm well aware of this which I had to tell her to get her to back off. Listen I get that the best way to help dogs out is to give them 100% prevention all the time.
We simply cannot afford to do it that way every year, so we do what we can for our girls and check over them often. Our dogs are very well loved and the fact that this tech made me feel like I need to explain this out loud says enough. The rest of the appointment she tried to be friendly to make up for the interaction but definitely failed. She had already showed her cards.
I'll also leave a small note in about the doctor. I had never seen this gentleman before (doctor oltman was his name) and while he was obviously knowledgeable he definitely wasn't friendly and that didnt help an already stressful situation for me and for my dogs (one of my girls being very nervous) is it worth it to have good care for my dogs? Of course.
They're worth the money. Is this clinic worth the $700+ dollars I paid? Today they werent. Please do better for the sake of new, busy moms like myself who have to trust that their dogs are in good hands.

I scheduled a Monday appointment for my dog who had a limp. Only called them because our usual vet was booking out a ways. I was asked for payment over the phone at the time of scheduling. Seemed odd, but really didn't give it much thought. She ended up improving considerably over the weekend, so I decided to cancel. When I asked about the deposit, I was rudely told I lose it because cancellation was within 24 hours of appointment. Who does this? They can keep the $69 if they need it that bad. It's the last they'll ever get from me.

Had a terrible experience at Blaine Veterinary Clinic. My two dogs were transferred over to the clinic from Shady Oaks in Minnetonka. One of the pups had his first ever visit and I was sitting there without any guidance or overview on how the puppy was from a health perspective. At the end of the visit I was walked out and had to say "wait a minute, are you going to tell me how my dog is doing?".
Outside of that the vets in the clinic are very standoffish and gave very little interest in communicating with me how my dogs were doing. For 500$ for 1 visit I expected better quality. The only pro for the visit was the receptionist who was very nice and responsive.

We've been going to Blaine Central Vet for many years. They are very friendly and respectful to work with and very loving with my animals. I appreciate that they explain what each test costs, what it shows them, why the recommend it, they're honest if they don't think it's super beneficial for our situation, and I'm able to decide if I'd like to have it done or not with zero pressure. Highly recommended!
