Animal Medical Center

To my pet owners. If you are looking for a new vet for your pet I highly recommend coming to the Animal Medical Center, especially for emergency services. My dog has experienced a number off issues this year and I have been very happy with the services I get here at the Animal Medical Center. They are empathetic and helpful towards your pet and the owner.

Last week my dog ate so much sand that it impacted his intestines, Dr. Singh, was super helpful with my dogs care. And no surgery was needed. Today, I had to bring my dog back in for another emergency as he ate a tampon and in fear from the prior week, I called the Animal Medical Center for help. Dr. Grewal warned about the possibility of surgery to remove the tampon, but I expressed my financial issues especially cus of last weeks incident, and they once again were helpful.

They gave me information about CareCredit and they always try to help with some discounts to bring the price down a little. Thankfully they tried to induce vomiting to see if that would help, so the surgery could be a secondary option. Dr. Grewal has been such a help for me and my dogs life, the additional advice and support alone is helpful and I highly recommend bringing your pet here for animal care!

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Grewal for about 20 years and I have never had a complaint. He is always very thorough, informative, fair and nice. The people who work there are always so kind to my dogs also. I would recommend AMC to everyone who needs a veterinarian.

Everyone was extremely nice and respectful of my time as well as to my animals ( Puppy and Cat). They told me everything I needed to know detail by detail. Very appreciate of the entire staff. Dr. Grewal and the team at AMC are the best. I brought my dog in for what I now believe may have been reverse sneezing but we did an X-ray to make sure everything looked okay. Once complete, Dr. Grewal walked me through all the images and what he was seeing. He also had them sent to radiology for review. I'm so grateful for all the care and recommendations given on the follow up tests.

We ended up finding that my dog had a mass on her spleen (unrelated to the initial reason for our visit) that could have potentially grown and ruptured if left unchecked. All the test results came back today and I received a call from the Dr to confirm the mass was thankfully benign. Looking forward to many more years with my dog knowing she is getting excellent care.

I took my dog, Fluffy, in for a regular check up and Dr. Grewal and his staff were super friendly and loving towards my pup! Fluffy always gets anxiety at the vet, but Dr. Grewal and his staff were wonderful about calming him down and making my baby feel more comfortable and relaxed at his vet visit. The clinic is clean and organized. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone that cares about their fur baby! Thank you, Dr. Grewal!

Brought my dog Minnie to the clinic for a well check up. The Doctor was very patient and understanding with my dog. I highly recommend this place. Everything was explained throughly.

I used to be a free lancing veterinarian, While working at AMC, I realized that Dr. Grewal, the staff were very honest, knowledgeable, hard working and went out of the way to help animals. The services provided, were excellent. I wish I could work there for a longer time. thanks to the staff, Dr. Grewal and all the clients for letting me be a part of this great place.

The staff and doctor were very accommodating and included me every step of the way in getting my little guy better. He needed surgery and they put my mind at ease and he is doing great now. Thank you Doctor Grewal and the entire staff!

I am not the type of person to ever leave a bad review, but the doctor was the worse person I have ever encountered he was rude and disrespectful and he still had the never to tell my puppy to shut up while I was filling out the papers. Will never be coming here again he tried to act sweet and first but was rude after. Beside that the staff was amazing.

First of all, I want to acknowledge the great staff at this facility, extremely helpful and welcoming, unfortunately the "DR" was the total opposite, talk about a douche bag, he began yelling at his own staff for speaking Spanish while they translated the whole process to my Spanish speaking parents, total careless for the well-being of my animal. DR. Grewaul Was Unprofessional and rude all he cared about was how much he was going to charge for the visit, rather than take care of my pup needs, I would NOT RECOMMEND this place for your pets, this vet should have his license revoked.

We are very happy with Dr Grewal and staff who took great care of my dog. We had 2 fat lump removal surgery for my Lab at this facility.

This place is amazing! Very clean facility, friendly staff, and above all, awesome Doctor. When it comes to animals, Dr. Grewal is super knowledgeable, experienced, and very caring. He made us feel like family and took very good care of our pet. I highly recommend this place to all.

They were very knowledgeable and helpful with figuring out the issues with our cats! The vet we worked with (I forget the gentleman's name) was very straightforward and did not bulls*** us with any treatments. He also gave us great recommendations for specialists for one of our cats who was experiencing gastrointestinal issues. It was also one of the more affordable places to have your cat spayed in the Bay Area.

I only give it a 4 out of 5 because one of the times we brought our cats in, they would not examine her because they could not get her out of the crate. I asked if I could come in to help pull her out (which they had let me do this before during COVID) and they said no and just sent us home.

What can I say about this place. it is amazing! They took my pup in on Christmas Eve when he broke his dewclaw. Seeing my husky in so much pain was heart breaking. Dr. Grewal and his staff took my dog in and took such great care of him. Every step of the process they made me feel like I was apart of their family. I would 100% recommend anyone take their animals here as they will be in great hands!

This is an updated review. Haven't been here in 5 years. All new people, same "Doc" Mr. Grewal. Everyone is very well trained and on top of everything. Their system is damn near bulletproof. I'm not happy to be back, but its a good feeling to know my dogs are in good hands. AMC is the best of the best. The staff are all extremely nice, caring, animal lovers. Doc is very straight-forward and very knowledgable. Everything is facts and to the point. Other vets forget to mention things and arent to the point and try to sell sell sell, AMC is the opposite. They are the best.

The doctors and staff are so kind and caring. They were very patient with me and caring with my fur baby. One of the staff even brought my other dog a treat while we waited. It really meant a lot to me. Thank you!

They were very kind to get me in last minute. I know Bella gets the best of care there and they call and check up always to see how she's doing. I wouldn't take her anywhere else I trust them with my Bella's life

I just want to say thank you to Veterinarian Dr. Grewal and to the female receptionist I think was Kris? (Forgive me if I'm wrong or of my spelling) for aiding my 1 year old French Bulldog this morning. Rocky is feeling much better and is holding down the recommendation of cooked rice and chicken down. Just don't! Bad service by doctor but the people in the front desk are beyond nice, as I sat in the lobby waiting for my pet I overheard how these employees are talked to by the doctor and it's beyond disrespectful, they should work where they are more appreciated.

I have been going to see Doc for 20 years! He's always been gentle and helpful to my Cali girl! Through all these years- he hires only the very best staff, too! Recently Kerri helped us and she was an absolute delight! Highly recommend!

Very grateful to Dr Grewal and his staff for taking such good care of our Loki with an urgent appointment! She's all better and feeling perkier than she has been in awhile! New allergy medication working wonders and she isn't itching and licking so much now! Thank you for making it a lot easier for me to bring her in with my mobility issues. Very grateful!

I couldn't be more happier with Animal Medical center. I called multiple Vets in the Hollister/Gilroy Area to get my dog seen ASAP and could not get an appointment in my area for about 2 weeks! I called Animal Medical Center and Kerry was amazing! She was able to get me in same day! The Dr and his staff took great care of my dog! He had a bad hot spot area where they told me a flea had been living on him and they were actually able to see flea feces on his back side!

Where it was starting to become infected! My pup needed multiple shots and antibiotics! They took extremely good care of him and I am forever grateful that they got me in the same day! Kerry was super detailed on all his medications that I needed to administer! The doctor was super accommodating knowing that I drove all the way from Hollister to get my dog seen! Thanks again to the team at Animal Medical Center for taking care of my baby!

We have been bringing our Maltipoo here for over TEN years and Dr. Grewal & his staff have always provided exceptional service. Dr. Grewal has a great way of explaining issues that your pet may be experiencing, and proposes the most prudent solutions. This medical center goes above & beyond and provides the transparency every pet owner should have. Thank you Dr. Grewal and staff for your life-saving work on our best friend!

I finally found our Dr! We (my two kitties and I) are transplants from Sonoma County. We had not found a Dr we liked since moving. Dr. Grewal changed EVERYTHING! My sweet Tabby boy Rocko was seriously injured in a cat fight in his own home (my mom was visiting with a bully) I was able to get Rocko in the very next day with Dr. Grewal. The tech had to check for availability and he called me back HIMSELF, that's a rarity with Vets.

High touch and compassionate care. They are more than reasonable with pricing when most vets gouge, he is empathetic with the animals and their parents and goes above and beyond to address our nervous dispositions when dealing with our babies health. He is one of the good ones who truly cares and truly listens and gives sound advice but offers nothing that is unnecessary.

I am beyond grateful to have found Animal Medical Center. He's wonderful but his staff is top notch too, absolutely sweet caring souls every one of them. When someone tells your terrified baby he's a handsome good boy after he piddled everywhere you know you found your people!

Paulie - Last week he loosened a tab on collar and was able to lick leg. Not as bad as before but it led to drastic changes. 1) Tightened collar/cone around neck using dog collar & gauze. 2) Before leaving house he was drugged. 3) His gated area made smaller so he can't move around. I see mostly scab & sutures, middle area has some red from wound. "Shout Out" to Pet Hospital, Hilsdale Avenue, San Jose, CA, 95124. They did 2nd surgery, provided needed meds and calming pills after he loosened tab on collar. Thank you!

Dr. Grewal himself just called my personal phone number trying to get me to remove my Yelp review? Very unprofessional, although sad to say I'm not surprised since multiple other reviewers mentioned he does this. You should be able to learn from constructive criticism instead of trying to silence the voices that are telling you something's wrong. Removing that extra star I gave. Highly advise anyone reading this to go through the recent reviews and really read the 1-star ones thoroughly before taking their pet here.

I never really write reviews but I definitely wanted to thank the Animal Medical Center! Something was wrong with my poor kitty and I took him in to this center. They were so accommodating and understanding to time and my need for care right away. They helped guide me on what to do to bring him in. The staff was unbelievably professional, kind hearted and so helpful.

Their customer service was def amazing especially over how many questions I had! Lol Dr Grewal was so great and gentle with my Kitty. He let me know every step of what was happening and was thorough with his procedure and gave great instructions on how to take care of him along with his medication after I took him home. I would recommend to anyone. They truly care for your animal the way you do! -Lisa

Dr. Grewal and the staff at Animal Medical Center have always been amazing! They're caring, compassionate, and comprehensively explain treatment/cost. Dr. Grewal will personally call you to followup on lab results or the care of your pet. They will go above and beyond to care for your pet as soon as possible. I was referred to AMCSJ over 3 years ago and would drive 40+ miles to take my puppy to them.

When my puppy got Parvo, they got him back to health for a fraction of what my local vet had charged me for a single visit (including overnight stays). My puppy was always so happy to see them all for checkups. Now that I have moved further away, and needed care for my kitten, I didn't think twice about driving 70+ miles to see Dr. Grewal. Thank you all at AMCSJ!

This place is the WORST by far. he over charges by hundreds of dollars all the time all the time. The more people I talk to about this thief the more I hear about how he overcharges everyone. He charge me $1500 to drain a hematoma out of my dogs ear flap and after I paid him he tells me oh it's gonna happen again and you're gonna have to bring her back.

Why didn't he tell me that before he stole my money. And by the way I found out that every other vet in the Southbay only charge $250 for the procedure. Do yourself a favor and save a lot of money by never taking your pet there to get ripped off.

The food was great but the lack the variety. This place used to bean awesome restaurant, now it's a only bar. It's still a great barz but I miss the french food.

Wow, great vet! My dog was neutered Monday by the SPCA and now 3 days later vomited and was just not hisself. I called his other vet that I have taken him to a few times since I've had him (Alpha Animal Hospital) and they could not see him until tomorrow late afternoon. I called Animal Medical Center and they got me in same day even with never seeing him prior!

They were so kind and good to my baby! The Dr was patient and even called me after the appointment to follow up. Luckily it was nothing to big to worry about but I appreciate this vet for being so caring! Needless to say I am switching clinics and will now be getting care for my fur baby here! I also feel like the Dr was much more thorough in general then the previous.

Great staff and Dr. Grewal took really good care of my cat who needed an emergency surgery to remove an obstruction in her intestines. Thank you so much to everyone working there! They are all very skilled, attentive and patient, even while during extremely busy periods. Highly recommended!

After calling multiple places, waiting on hold, people not having the answers, I finally found the right spot. Animal medical center is the only vet I will ever call again. I spoke with a very nice lady named Chris who helped me with everything I was looking for. She was able to answer all the questions I had for her and assist me in feeling confident in the choices I was making, not only for myself for my new kitten!

I have brought all my cats here and a few strays- the people here care about your animal and your family. When my cat died last year, they whole staff went above and beyond to help us through the grief. Now with a new kitty, they take care of him and always complement something about his personality!

Dr. Grewal took great care of my 10 week old golden retriever Belle. She received great care here and the team was more than welcoming. Dr. Grewal was kind enough to answer all of my questions in depth and was able to provide me more education on the topics I had concerns about. Belle and I will definitely be returning for any further visits we need!

Dr. Grewal is a gem. My new baby Bichon Frise was sick with a UTI. He called me after hours on a Sunday in the middle of a pandemic to alleviate my concerns. I have nothing but love and respect for him. His years of experience put my pet at ease. Thank you Dr. Grewal, god bless you.

My son took her to Animal Medical Center. The doctor's skillful hands performed a surgery that would bring down her swelling, pain, and infection. She will get her drain removed on Friday. We are truly grateful and appreciative of the doctors and staff. They go over and beyond our expectations.

I've been coming here for 14 years now with my pets needs ranging anywhere from annual check ups, minor operations, or even cancer treatments. Great front desk staff and Dr. Gherewal has also given us the best methods of treatment and lays out multiple options in regards to treatment. They took great care of my last dog up until the end and have helped me navigate the path with my new special needs pup. If you're looking for a vet that feels like family this is the place.
