We would give 0 stars if possible. This clinic caused injury to my dog's ear--multiple bruises, abrasions, and swelling in his ear canal--then lied and refused to take responsibility.

Several nights ago, we (my husband, daughter, and I) discovered a foxtail embedded in our golden retriever's right front paw. Unable to remove the foxtail ourselves, we contacted several vet clinics early the next morning. West Valley Pet Clinic was the only facility with an available appointment in the afternoon, and I was the one who brought our dog to the appointment. The appointment started as usual, with Dr. Brons conducting a general examination of my dog's eyes, ears, teeth, and heart. She specifically mentioned his ears were "clear" and "smelled good." This will be relevant later. Dr. Brons and her assistant then brought my dog to the operation room for the foxtail probing, which I did not witness. Things seemed fine until my dog was brought back to me.

To start, Dr. Brons stated that she could not find the foxtail. My dog then began shaking his head vigorously, revealing extensive bruising and bleeding in his left ear. The most significant injury was a wound approximately 0.9 cm by 1.2 cm at the end of the vertical canal deep inside his ear. Even worse, I discovered that the foxtail probing had been conducted at the wrong spot. Dr. Brons refused to explain the cause of the bruises nor take responsibility for the ear injuries or procedure failure. She and her assistant exited the room and never showed up again.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the office manager informed me that the owner, Dr. Nesset, was en route to the clinic. While waiting, one receptionist dared to claim that we mentioned an ear infection as the reason for the visit. This obvious gaslighting is extremely inappropriate for a supposedly professional facility. There is no chance we mentioned ear infection given our dog did not have an ear infection, confirmed by this clinic's very own Dr. Brons during the appointment.

Upon Dr. Nesset's arrival, she briefly examined my dog's ear and insisted, "Trust me, this is definitely an ear infection, the scratch was caused by your dog. I am the most honest person in the world." I'd like to mention my dog is over 7 years old and has never kicked or scratched himself to cause one, much less multiple, wounds in and around his ear. Dr. Nesset then attempted to use a long cotton swab on my dog's bleeding ear, prompting me to shout, "Do NOT touch!" Dr. Nesset accused me of screaming at her and subsequently called the police. While waiting for the police, we listened to the recording of my dog's appointment together (FYI visits at this clinic are recorded since they use AI to generate medical records). Dr. Brons can be heard in the recording saying exactly what I mentioned previously--that our dog's ears were "clear" and "smelled good." I pointed this out to Dr. Nesset, who only nodded and did not verbally respond. I informed Dr. Nesset that her clinic cannot evade accountability by fabricating stories to hide their abuse of my dog, and that dishonesty would exacerbate the situation. Dr. Nesset then yelled back, claiming her reaction was justified because she was provoked. It is concerning to me that Dr. Nesset, this clinic's owner, has the philosophy that dishonesty can be "provoked."

The second part of the recording, taken in the operation room, was filled with loud background noise of staff chatting and laughing. After listening for approximately 15 minutes, we could scarcely identify any information pertinent to the foxtail probing. The unprofessional conduct displayed during the procedure was evident, as the background noise indicated a chaotic environment with little regard for my dog's pain. It is apparent that my dog's physical and emotional well-being were not a priority, as this clinic's staff used whatever methods to forcefully restrain him.

The next day, we sent our dog to an emergency clinic. This veterinarian treated the wounds in his ear with a one-time dose of an anti-inflammatory medication. There was no mention of an ear infection, again highlighting the lies told to us by West Valley Pet Clinic. Due to severe swelling and pain of my dog's paw, a second foxtail probing could not even be conducted without sedation.

This clinic may have its moments of providing fine care but they exhibited such a massive lapse in empathy, professionalism, and honesty during this situation and we are utterly disgusted. I urge you all PLEASE DO NOT bring your pets to this clinic--the staff cannot be trusted to treat your pets well and will not give you the grace of honesty. Given how smoothly the staff immediately attempted to lie, I can tell this not the first time they've treated a pet/pet's owner this way and it will not be the last.

They offer top tier service with the best prices!

My cat is a new patient at this clinic and I am very happy with their service. The lab technician and the vet were very patient in answering my (many) questions and they were very thorough! Since our cat is a new patient, they spent a lot of time reviewing his history and informing us about his condition. They were also very honest (didn't try to upsell us) and gentle with our cat.

The prices are also pretty good! Before coming here, I called several other clinics and this was the absolute cheapest / most affordable. I also feel like this clinic had the best service because a few other clinics were kind of mean about informational calls and were very dismissive if you aren't a patient with them.

I’m not from the area and just got a puppy a few weeks ago. Had a first visit with Dr. Brons and was very impressed. The front desk and everyone was so nice and welcoming. I think the copious good reviews speak for themselves!

I cannot say enough good things about West Valley. They have an absolutely amazing staff, who are passionate about providing the best possible care to their patients. I drive over 30 minutes to see them because of how thorough and accommodating they are. They take their time to go through every step of treatment, answering questions and confirming how to proceed.

If you have any doubts about any of the treatment, they'll work with you to find an alternative solution. A lot of clinics don't take patient grievances very seriously, but Dr. Groundwater and Eva have gone above and beyond in providing outstanding customer service. On several occasions, there were some miscommunications at my appointments. However, Eva and Dr. Groundwater both went out of their way to find the root of the problem, and worked with me to find solutions. Everyone here is absolutely lovely, and I cannot thank them enough for the amazing care and service they provide to both me and my pet!

The staff here is amazing, caring, and thoughtful. Their first priority is to their patients and I can really respect that. My animals are my life & Dr. Nesset and her staff treat my cat as if he was their own and I really value that.

I love the staff at West Valley Pet Clinic. When I got my little eight-week-old puppy, Asher, I was excited but nervous. Being a new puppy owner is absolutely wonderful, but it also comes with a lot of challenges. I'm really happy that I found West Valley Pet clinic. They have been an amazing support over the past couple of months. Everyone is so kind and friendly! Asher wags his tail every time that I have brought him in when the vet techs take him inside, so I know that they are kind to him. Felicia and Tiffany are wonderful. (I apologize if I'm forgetting the names of others who have helped me.) I have called the clinic so many times with questions, and they always patiently answer all my questions.

I can tell that they really care because they don't rush the phone calls. They take their time and give good advice, and I really appreciate that. They have celebrated the "wins" with me and are compassionate when Asher doesn't feel well. I also love Dr. Brons. She really cares about Asher and has gone above and beyond to make sure that I am able to keep Asher healthy by giving me advice about everything from shots, to shampoos, to food.

When I asked her about a specific dog food I was feeding Asher that I was sure was really healthy because of the promises the company had made, she said that she wasn't familiar with it and wanted to talk with her (world-wide) vet forum to research it and get input from them to make sure that it really was good for Asher. She actually got in touch with the vet nutritionist instructor from a top level vet school who did some research for her and we ended up changing his food as a result to make sure that the food we give Asher would be the best so that we can keep him healthy. Wow! She did all of that just for us? That just goes to show how much she cares about her clients. I highly recommend her and the team at West Valley Pet Clinic!

The staff here are very kind. They remember your dog from previous visits. They work with pet rescues which is how I got my sweet boy. They aren't out for money and truly care about my dog. They will take the time to discuss things with you and give you options while being cost transparent. I trust them 100% Photos of my baby Alfie just because! Alfie was scared at his first visit and tried to bite but they didn't hold it against him in the future. Very compassionate staff.

The clinic staffs were rude! I made an appointment one week in advance to get our newly adopted Luu her second boosters. We drove to the clinic and was informed that no one can go in to the clinic, the tech has to come and get the dog, and we have to talk to the doctors on the phone only. She insisted I have to give her my credit card information first on the phone while sitting out here holding the puppy.

She was very persistent and never offer apology for not explaining to us on the phone when we made the appointment. While we were arguing, the other two people in the clinic stood there chatting with the person, no one ever came out to pick up our puppy. We were very disappointed with the insensitivity and lack of humane. We drove away and made the same day appointment at Saratoga vet hospital which is a great vet clinic!

We had the same vet for 15 years, but had to find a new vet during COVID. We are so incredibly thankful to have found WVPC. The staff is so caring, they do everything they can to see your pet ASAP, while others typically have wait lists, even prior to COVID we found it difficult to get an appointment with other vets, without being put on a waitlist and having to rearrange schedules for a last min call and appointment confirmation.

The communication at WVPC from the staff is better than my own primary care doc! They are conscious of budget, while providing recommendations for the best care for your pet. And they love on our dog like she's their own. Each vet takes plenty of time to discuss your pets conditions and best treatment plan, and they're great with sending regular updates during longer visits! Can't say enough great things about WVPC.

It is very challenging to find vets that will see birds but luckily my Dad reminded me of this clinic because my brother took his cockatiel there. I came to West Valley Pet Clinic because my parakeet was making a strange clicking noise. I did have a bad feeling about this since my parakeet was 7 years old. They are still doing curbside appointments, meaning you don't go in with your pet and the vet calls you.

The assistant checked my parakeet in and took her. Then later, I got a call from the vet and she confirmed the worst-- my parakeet had a large mass. She asked if I wanted to do x-rays as she wasn't sure if it was a stuck egg or a tumor. I said yes, so she did the x-ray and found a large tumor. She extracted some fluid around the tumor to keep her more comfortable.

She recommended I put my parakeet to sleep but told me it was my choice. I wasn't ready to do this at the time because my parakeet was still eating, sleeping, playing and all the normal activities. So I decided to take her home and let her live out her last days. Dr. Brons said my parakeet had a few days to a few weeks left. She was pretty accurate because my parakeet passed away in about 2 weeks.

I appreciate the compassionate care my parakeet received. Dr. Brons came out to my car and showed me the x-ray and then came out one more time. She did not pressure me to put my parakeet to sleep, which I appreciated. The thought of having to put my parakeet to sleep that day did not sit well with me, as I wouldn't be able to have the family say goodbye to her at that time. Dr. Brons told me if my parakeet got worse I could always bring her back and I could make the decision to put her to sleep.

I felt good about having this as an option. I would go back to Dr. Brons and I would recommend anyone with birds in need of care to see her. She is caring and knows her stuff.

Thank you for taking such good care of our woofers! We have 4 rescue dogs, all with varying degrees of anxiety and neuroses. Every check up and tech appointment has gone very smoothly. Our big guy had a growth on his eyelid removed surgically last week. Dr. Brons was great - she answered all my questions pre-op, but I still wasn't sure about proceeding because any surgery is hard On the patient.

She kindly sent me an article from a vet magazine that convinced me to proceed. The big guy is doing fine. Dr. Brons called at 7:20 pm the day after his surgery to make sure that all was good. Such personalized concern is much appreciated!

I brought my bunny Oats in to West Valley pet clinic today and had a great experience. The team is very efficient. Dr. Nesset took the time to kindly and clearly explain several things that might be wrong with my bunny's eye and answer any questions I had. I had been struggling to find a vet for a while and I am happy I found them.

This review is for Dr. Brons and we absolutely love the service and care our cat receives. Dr. Brons is the best vet I've found in the South Bay and I highly recommend seeing her. She thoroughly reviewed all of the results with me and made sure I understood exactly what she had examined. Excellent service and care.

Experience was perfect! I love this clinic. Staff could not be nicer and more caring. Dr. Danielle Olsen takes care of my 14 year old greyhound and my cranky 8 year old cat and she really loves them and treats them like they were her own. I trust her 200%! We have been seen by all the other vets as well and they are all top notch!

I have been bringing my pets into this clinic for 20 years! They have never let me down. At one point I even brought my rat to this clinic to be euthanized, after i found her in her cage bleeding from a ruptured ovarian cyst, but alive. I was a hysterical sobbing teenager, and they were so patient and kind to me, helped me do the humane thing for Crystal, and even sent the follow up card.

She was a pocket pet that just cost a few bucks, but was so very precious to me. I'm tearing up now just remembering. They are truly some of the good guys. As for dogs - I had Luna for all of my adult life, she was my best friend and meant the world to me. Old age was not very kind to her, and they cared for her tirelessly - an emergency gallbladder removal, Cushings disease, SARD/blindness, every step of the way they provided compassionate care and education free from judgement.

I've always felt they were honest and straightforward with me about my options, and helped to point out alternatives when I could not afford the recommendation. They pointed me in the direction of care credit, which allowed me a little more breathing room to pay for the care that Luna needed and deserved. Then when it was time to send her ahead to the rainbow bridge earlier this year. Dr. Nesset was immensely helpful, explained ahead of time what to expect, each of the steps that would be taken, and how it would go.

She provided me with chocolate treats for Luna and a jar of baby food which proved to be an excellent distraction. Still, I wasn't prepared for Luna to drop in my arms like a sack of potatoes, and when I started to cry, the doctor also shed a few tears. She really helped to ease the pain of that experience, made a huge difference for me. Thank you so much, WVPC, for helping me through that experience, which however necessary, is ever so painful. You guided me through, as always, with incredible grace and compassion.

My vet for 15 years. once so trusted. But didn't have time or a place for my dog with an emergency. A year later -I no longer need your services. You keep sending me 30% off coupons for care I needed for my beloved dog a year ago. I still feel the pain at the memory of that phone call, and ask that you remove me from your mailing list again. My dog has since passed because of my failure to provide veterinary care I always felt you overcharged and believed this was necessary to secure the care I might one day need without appointment. The irony of your 30% coupon.no words. The message is very clear and I hope mine is as well. Remove me from your mailing list.

Excellent veterinary clinic - over the years they have cared for three of our cats and our rabbit. The doctors and staff are knowledgable, kind, and caring. From kitten checkups, to injuries, to euthanization at the end of life, they always do a great job, are empathetic, and they don't overcharge. They communicate well and make sure we understand what is going on, the course of treatment, and they are always willing and able to answer questions.

I had to take my cat to urgent care at another clinic recently and Dr. Nesset was able to fix what seemed to be a botched surgery and prescribed the right medicine so he could start healing. I highly recommend WVPC. My only suggestion for the clinic would be to consider adding hours for urgent care.

This review is for Dr. Hsu. We love Dr. Hsu. My chubby little shih tzu has been seeing Dr. Hsu since she has been a puppy. We followed Dr. Hsu from a Sunnyvale clinic to West Valley Pet Clinic. Although the drive to this clinic takes a little longer now for us, it's worth it. Dr. Hsu is so kind and gentle. We really trust her to take care of Sunny.

She takes time to answer all of my questions and follows up after visits when there has been a health problem. One time, we had to go to an emergency clinic. My ex-husband did not like how they treated Sunny and did not trust the emergency clinic's recommendations. Sure enough, the emergency clinic's recommendations did not help Sunny to get better.

We took Sunny to see Dr. Hsu at her next available appointment. Sunny got better after following Dr. Hsu's treatment and recommendations. Although my ex-husband and I have some differences, we agree on trusting Sunny's care with Dr. Hsu. I'm about to move further away from this clinic but plan to keep Sunny's care here since I know Dr. Hsu will take good care of my precious doggie.

After 7 years at Ban field pet hospital, I have decided to take my pet to West Valley Pet clinic based on word of mouth of a friend who is part of our dog group. After few visits and having taken their service, I feel it's the right call. My reasons to move and so far all the below are met and am hoping their service gets even better: 1. Friendly front desk staff who follow up 2.

Quality care here compared to what I observed at Ban Field 3. Friendly doctors who listen, take good history and follow up 4. Fair prices 5. Clarify misunderstandings and give a reason with out putting their monkey on your back Overall, thanks for your excellent service West Valley Pet clinic staff!

I've only ever received the most high quality and compassionate care at West Valley Pet Clinic. Everyone, including the front desk staff, vet assistants, and vets shows genuine enthusiasm for animals and provides thoughtful advice, even during covid when contact-less service threatens the personal connection we get from face-to-face interactions. I've called near closing hours for cat pain meds before and they still went out of their way to prepare the prescription such that I could pick it up at my leisure. I've consistently been impressed with the friendly service in-person, via phone, email, and even text.

Sometimes I am wandering around the block during my pet's appointment and am a few minutes late to pick them up, but I've never felt rushed or reprimanded for it. I've recommended West Valley wholeheartedly to friends as well and they've been equally impressed. One of the best businesses in the Bay!

This is a review I THOUGHT I would never had to write. Three years ago my beautiful dog Ella had a back problem that traveled to her left leg. Its common with dogs with curbed backs (dauchsunds/Shepards). Dr. Nester diagnosed the problem and we put her on a laser treatment with some inflammatory drops for flare ups. Ok so why the bad review. About eight months ago with my other dog (Lincoln) I was told he had loose teeth etc.

They said it was critical to get that work done. The pricing was unbelievable and this "emergency" had to wait two weeks as they were full. No vet would see him as they were only taking existing clients. I panicked. his hospital charges sky high for everything. This is strictly a for profit clinic. So I found a new fabulous vet on Yelp and he did everything perfectly and quickly and affordably.

However this new vet does not have this laser set-up. So I thought no problem I will just go back to WPC for this. Suddenly WPC under Dr. Nester refused to see Ella, because of my objecting to their pricing and there delay in treating Lincoln. Since nothing is as important than the well being of Ella I Said well your staff is a bit sensitive and I was unaware they felt slighted (never my intent, but I am not "open my wallet. here!.

I Tried to be the bigger person and said well "I apologize". She refused to accept my apology?! Why? Isn't a vet supposed to put everything to the side to care for "Fido". Isn't that there oath? Everything else is non-important. I was never rude, just asked alot of questions like any dog owner who is not Rockefeller would. Hence avoid this clinic and go to Aborn Pet Clinic Instead. The vet there is a dream and says I am like any other pet owner who loves their pets. Avoid WPC.

This clinic is my go-to for my exotic animals. Dr. Brons always does a thorough job. However I did have a bad experience today bringing in my dog for her first visit with West Valley Pet Clinic. I had an appointment set for 8 am, been parked in the curbside spots since 7:45 am. I call at 8 am to check in, no one answers. I called 5 minutes later, no answer.

I call again to be put on hold, just for them to turn me away because "I'm late 20 minutes" when in reality, I've been there since 7:45 am. I've been loyal to this clinic for almost 3 years. I'm pretty disappointed. There should be a different way of checking in. and they were gonna charge me more for a "drop off". Shouldn't you guys check in with people who have been parked in a curbside space for over 30 minutes? No. They help the other two cars that arrived after me and didn't bother asking me what I was parked there for. And they didn't answer my phone call until later.

Over the weekend we discovered a lump on the side of our dog. I called West Valley Pet Clinic on Monday morning at 8AM to see if I could bring him in. By 9AM we were in with the vet and they were doing test to determine what it was. Luckily, as it turned out, everything was fine. I can not think of any other vet that I would want to go to. All their staff are amazing.

West Valley Pet Hospital and their team are exceptional. The team has treated two of my birds, my beagle from birth to 16 years of age and my previous Labrador, with all his genetic problems, from birth to age 12+. I would and do recommend West Valley whenever I get a chance.

Our Pineapple Green Cheek Conure, Ladybird, is the most precious girl EVER! She's smart, funny and sensitive. Everyone at WVPC, from the doctors to the receptionists, to the techs, have been so nice and kind to our baby girl. She can be a bit of a drama Princess, when she gets her wings clipped and her nails 'filed', with sporadic squawking and soft screeching.

Yet the technicians remain sweet and comforting. After, she hops into her carrier and under her 'breath' says "pretty girl", then she settles in for the ride home. Thanks to the whole team at West Valley Pet Clinic!

We've been taking our 3 dogs to this clinic for over 12 years. Over the years we have had 2 Golden Retrievers and a Black Lab. Dr. Nesset is awesome to work with. The staff is great and the care is phenomenal. When Dr. Nesset is out of the office we've seen Dr. Bron who is equally wonderful. Separate Dog and Cat entrances help from any possible mishaps. I've also seen birds, rabbits, turtles and more taken care of here. We highly recommend this clinic for your pet's well-being.
