So I called to ask how much it costs to do a nail trim. Apparently "They don't do nail trims here". Oh okay, you don't do one of the most basic things for pet care? Leads me to believe the rest of the services and care given here are just as lack luster. Was wanting to transfer to this vet because of how close it was to my home, but nah.

I am writing this review so that the Veterinarian there will see this and potentially use it as a training opportunity for his staff. I have recently moved to the area and do not have a primary vet for my pets yet. My 14-year old dog over the last two months has lost significant weight, won't eat, had mucus discharge when she peed. All of these things seemed to be happening fast and my dog went from being very content to seeming to suffer.
I called yesterday letting the person know that I recently moved nearby and was wanting my dog to be seen. Because she was 14 and suffering, my assumption was that the end would be near and we wanted to discuss our options and future steps with the vet. The person answered the phone told me they would not euthanize my pet on the first visit and that I would need to find a different vet to help us.
After making it clear that my goal WAS NOT to just drop my pet off to be euthanized. I reiterated that she was suffering and that we needed help asap. My family has loved her for 14 years and this whole situation was terribly heartbreaking. They kept repeating the same thing that I need to get help elsewhere. I asked to speak to the vet and was told no. I find it very hard to believe any reasonable vet would turn away a suffering animal, and that is why I want to bring this situation to the vet's attention.

I seriously can't say enough nice things about this vet! I have had poor experiences with other vets where I felt a little like I was being pressured to spend lots of additional money on unnecessary treatments, meds, or tests all with the idea in mind that if I didn't I was a bad pet parent. Their clinic didn't try to sell me on anything extravagant or pressure me to do extra unnecessary testing. They gave me straight forward knowledgeable care and did what was required for my pet at a reasonable price. They really are the best vet in town.

Our new doxie rescue made her first visit to Dr Walker at Animal Clinic of Arlington recently to determine the course of action for several areas of concern. Staff was friendly and Dr on time, very cordial and after exam, determined her teeth were badly in need of cleaning. She also had a very large unsightly lipoma on her hip. A surgical appt was scheduled where both procedures were done under one episode of anesthesia.
Because of her young age and otherwise good health, the Dr. Did not choose to do a lot of preliminary expensive bloodwork. He did a fecal heart worm test, all necessary vaccines and a complementary nail grooming. I was able to be present for part of the procedure and Dr Walker was very caring, competent and efficient throughout. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a veterinarian who is there for the love of animals and not just to run up the bill to an extraordinary balance for unnecessary procedures. We rescue doxies who have been in neglectful situations. and now have four! It is so good to have finally found an affordable and competent veterinarian for them.

There are no words to express my grateful feelings about the people at this place. They are so kind, responsive and professional. When I needed a change the most and my dog was very ill, I found Dr Walker and his staff and they are wonderful! They all treated my dog like the fur child that she is, and that made me feel relaxed and happy with her in their care. It makes a huge difference to know she was in the best of hands.
