Richter Animal Hospital

Excellent staff and techs. Dr. Richter is probably going to be my new vet. The one I had for 30 years is retiring. The level of service is quite high. He called and talked with me about lab results when they were all normal. That was the level of service I was used to. Tried two other vets before finding him and neither seemed too concerned about customer service.

I think they were probably competent vets, just didn't seem to be that concerned with owners. I had a great experience with Richter and his prices are reasonable. I would recommend him to a friend.

Best bet I've ever been too. Some vets don't care about your furry friend they are typically money hungry but I love this vet because they actually care about your pets well being. Everyone there is very friendly. Also the cheapest compared to any other veterinarian.

I have recently taken my fur baby in to find out he may have or dose have IBD, only time will tell with switching up food and maybe more test ran. The doctors and staff have been so helpful, compassionate and understanding. I have only been going to them a short time, but I have definitely found a wonderful vet I can trust with my fur baby.

We have been taking our dog here since she was a puppy. The doctors and staff are amazing. Our dog suffers from allergies and we have to fill her medication monthly, so we visit quite a lot. The front desk is always friendly, and patient, you never feel rushed checking in or out the office. We see Dr. Randolph, he is amazing- he always answers all my questions and concerns, and all the techs are super friendly and informative. Highly recommend this place.

I started taking my dog to this vet a few years ago after my dog sustained an injury to her back. I called and explained the emergency and they allowed me to bring her in quickly the same day. It turned out she had a spine injury causing a decrease of function in her legs. Dr. Richter kept my dog for a few hours to run x-rays, tests, and close monitoring.

The doctor explained what was going on in detail, and prescribed medications and a treatment plan for her. She made a full recovery and is able to run and play because of Dr. Richter and the staff at Richter Animal Hospital. Needless to say I have continued to bring my dog back for check ups and the technicians and doctors are always very thorough with their exams which is reassuring.

I appreciate everyone at Richter Animal Hospital so much for the care and attention that they give to my pup. It is clear that everyone there really has a passion for animals. In addition to the amazing and welcoming staff, the facility is beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend this vet.

My 8 yr old Dachshund was attacked by another dog. Relatively new to the area, and from the first call I made, to the last, they were amazing! I had calls from the vet while my dog was there. He had surgery and they took wonderful care of him. They did all they could to save my buddy but sadly, it was too much for him. Highly recommend taking your fur babies there!

The best vet we have found in all of the DFW area! My dog gets anxious at vets because of bad experiences in the past and Dr. Finn, all of the techs, and the administrative staff were all so patient and accommodating! The first time in years my pup was able to go to a vet visit and leave happy without having to use a muzzle or sedation. Couldn't recommend enough!

I can't say enough about the staff and Dr. Finn who took such wonderful care of our chocolate lab Duke who had a bowel obstruction and required surgery. From the moment I called them they immediately accommodated us and gave constant updates and the very best care! They have a beautiful animal hospital and they truly CARE! So happy a random phone call led to the very best outcome for my Duke.

I went from a chain vet in the pet store to Richter and I will never take my dogs anywhere else. Everyone there is super friendly, and knows how to do their job. Mr. Richter is a great vet and they take the time to explain things, instead of just tossing me an invoice. Thank you for such great service!

I just love everyone who works here! The receptionists, techs, and Dr. Randolph are always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My cats Ivy and Cricket highly approve too!

When Bella needed dental care, we trusted the doctors and staff to give her the very best care! We were kept informed every step of the way and she was given over the top care! Thank you so much!

Thank you to the receptionists, vet techs and Dr. Finn for seeing my sick baby! We are from out of town and I knew getting her in somewhere was going to be difficult since she would be a new patient! They gladly fit her in and quickly did all the diagnostics needed! So grateful for them!

I am leaving my previous review as I did enjoy seeing the doctors at this facility, however, I think it is important to give the good with the bad for reviewers to make informed decisions with their beloved pets. My parents unfortunately had a blind elderly dog that was moaning all night, could no longer stand or walk, and finally stopped eating. When my mother called to bring that sweet pup in to be put to sleep, she waited on hold for 15 mins and then was told they couldn't fit her in until the next day.

This situation is difficult enough as our pets are family members, now my mom has the choice of either watching her dog suffer another 24 hours or call another random vet. No pet owner should have to do that if they are using a vet that they trust. Mind you, she has been using this yet for several years AND actually referred me there. I understand busy schedules and emergencies that come in, but I also believe a compassionate veterinarian and clinic would have made it happen and I am sad and disappointed that the folks at Richter did not.

I can no longer recommend this vet nor will we be going back. Previous review: The doctors really work with you to develop a plan that works for you and your pet and speak to you like an equal. They do not up charge for services or recommend tests and procedures that are not needed, which I have experienced from other vets in the past. Their service is so outstanding that once I moved they even took an over the phone account of what was happening with my pet (another instance of what she had been treated for previously with them) and mailed me the same prescription again for her to take.

Dr. Finn was fantastic. Super helpful, empathetic, and straight forward. I came in with a high emotion behavioral issue (my dog, not me). Dr. Finn provided the necessary information for me to make the appropriate next steps. He had a different approach to what I should do and I could not be more thrilled.

After my dog’s lifetime (7 years) with these vets, my dog sadly bit someone while being boarded. Already being out of state, I was desperate to find out the exact circumstances and was told that they “already” told my husband, refusing to discuss it with me. This is after 3 weeks of me calling requesting a change to his medication, with no response. I’m not sure who is dropping the ball, but someone sure is.
Edit: The situation was not disclosed to my husband either.

Only that he “bit and drew blood”, but nothing about the situation leading up it, nor the fact that no calls were returned regarding the meds that he had been prescribed.
Learnings: Research any medication prescribed to your dearly loved pet and research whom you let treat them. By the way, we still have not been contacted by anyone regarding the medication that they prescribed.

Great visit for my Betty cat. Great customer service. Everyone was very caring. Check out the kitty in examination room. Good for when your kitty needs a quiet moment.

Bodhi loved Dr Finn! We went for Bodhi’s puppy shots and first exam. Dr Finn answered all my questions and was incredibly patient, as I had many! My previous vet (of 20 years) recently retired so I was VERY nervous trusting a new one. Dr Finn quickly calmed all my nerves with his genuine care for Bodhi. The tech helped with some grooming questions I had and gave great training tips. I look forward to Richter Animal Hospital being our primary practice!

This is the place my babies love! When we need to go out of town or when I was in a hotel waiting on the new house to be completed they stayed here and absolutely love it. They were healthy and happy the whole time. You're able to visit if they are there for long stays, the vet is wonderful and very thorough. I can't say enough about this place and their exceptional staff that is the friendliest staff of all.

I am so happy I have found this place! This place is an hour away from me but worth the drive. The front desk staff are extremely sweet and caring. Dr. Finn is extremely knowledgeable and honest. He is detailed in his information, patient, great listener and tries to find the best yet reasonably priced solution. It took me a while to find a vet that truly cares for my puppy and myself. We picked up our boxer baby today from being spayed, I just want to first Thank Dr. Dolan and the amazing staff for taking such good care of her, for answering all my worried and anxious dog mom questions and being empathetic. Process was smooth, and explained thoroughly and again Dr. Dolan was caring and communicative. I can't recommend them enough, Thanks Again!

I TRUST THE DOCTORS AND STAFF!
I’ve been bringing my fur babies to Richter for 14 years. All of the doctors have treated all of my fur babies. Wallace, my schnauzer, visited the groomer about six times a year for several years. Three of my fur babies have been boarded there at one time or another. They may not be the cheapest place in town but what price do you put on a family member’s health and safety or your own peace of mind that said family members are cared for with the same love and compassion you give them?

When I started with Richter it was in a small office space, however, the love and care that was given was huge! The doctors talk with you and together you decide how to best take care of your fur babies. The practice has since grown and moved to the office on Sublett because so many others have discovered what I already know, the doctors and staff are loving & caring and they want our four legged family members to be happy and healthy!
