They really care about the pets and people they work with I have had 4 dogs go to this vet over the last decade or so and while it can be scary for a pet to go to the vet for any reason I know they are in great and loving hands. I personally can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else and will be a customer for life.

They have done excellent care with our two dogs since we started using them at my aunt's suggestion a year ago (they bring their two cats here also). Our golden has had multiple issues, as she has a sensitive stomach and she was a clumsy puppy who sprained her paw. Everything they treat her with care and call me after letting me know everything that is going on.
If I have any concerns at any other times, I can call and the doctors will talk to me or call me back. Our other dog has mainly gone for routine vaccines as she is very healthy and they treat her well with all of her anxiety. I have no complaints. They may be more expensive than others, but it is worth it.

If I could rate 0 stars.i would. Sugarloaf Animal Hospital is a JOKE! Animal hospitals are suppose to care for animals no matter if they are young and agile, or old and slow. My sweet, BEAUTIFUL dog is in PAIN and dying. He's 153 lbs and NEVER HAS BITTEN ANYONE. He has cancer and needs to be put down. They REFUSED to help us get him in after they said they would get a stretcher bc of his size. AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO PUT A MUZZLE ON HIM.
They didn't even look at him before making this declaration! And they let us wait 45 minutes with him in our car, bc he CAN'T WALK, after our appt time to tell is that. He has never bitten a single animal or human before. He is in pain and needs help and can barely breath. I will be sure to let everyone I know of the inhumane treatment of a pet in pain.

Shout-out to Sugarloaf Animal Hospital and their staff for taking great care of Vinnie, Vinnie, Vinnie, yesterday. V went in to have a cancerous tumor removed from his left, front leg. Due to his age, 15 soon to be 16, Dale Swinburne and I were very hesitant to put him under, especially since he went under 2x last year. Dr. Brown was able to do the removal via local only and Vinnie came through with flying colors!
Other than the bandage on his leg, you wouldn't know he went through the procedure. We can't thank them enough for listening to our concerns, acknowledging them, and finding an alternative solution that we all could be comfortable with.

I was initially pleased by the service. However, I called in this morning after being told by my daughter the facility didnt have my dog. After I provided my husbands name they found him. Jennifer was extremely RUDE! When I asked about my invoice I was told I was given a receipt which was unacceptable. I didnt ask if I was given a receipt I questioned an invoice.
I was not able to pick up my dog on Sunday due to the facility being closed which was not an issue and we were charged for Monday being a full day. Overall the negative energy I was given was the issue. Calling the facility seemed as I was a complete bother to Jennifer. Maybe she needs the week off to be thankful she is employed! I would use the facility but dealing with this staff member sucked.

Love this place. The staff are true animal lovers. Very patient, calm and friendly. We were very pleased with our first visit. Happy to put our dogs care in their hands. Great place. Very clean. This was my review about a year ago. It is such a shame that I called this morning and I was met with such a rude and abrasive office manager Jennifer. I am currently looking for a new vet for my lovable dogs care.

Sugarloaf Animal Hospital welcomes you with open arms and treats you like a family. They have an amazing staff, everyone is really helpful and answer all you questions. Also their grooming service is top notch. I loved how they decided to groom my dog when everyone rejected her because she's a husky and it requires a lot of time and patience with them. I will continue to come and get my dog groomed from them!

Jennifer the receptionist is the rudest person. I was only continuing to go there because of the Dr. Rollins but after today's run in with Jennifer I will find another vet to go to. I have been going to them for over 12 yrs. At one time Jennifer made a comment that she knew my dogs urine test would come back bad because she just knew that I wasn't giving him the special dog food because I was buying it from them.
His test came back good because I am giving him the food but getting it cheaper elsewhere. Not a comment that a receptionist should be making. My husband has had problems with her in trying to get meds for our dog. She thinks she is the vet. When we leave messages with her to have the vet call us we never get the phone calls. Either she is not giving it to her or the vet just doesn't care.
Today we went to pick up heart worm pills for our daughters dog after my daughter spoke to Jennifer earlier in the week and was told to come in on Sat. To pick them up. We got there and was told by Jennifer that our daughter never called and said that she needed to bring the dog in to be tested. My daughter tried to get an appt for today but was told by Jennifer that he didn't need an appt. just come in to get the pills. Looks like Jennifer didn't check his records and then lied when we got there.
Very bad attitude with us. And another time my daughters dog was there to have his teeth cleaned and when she went to pick him up he had a black and swollen eye and no one knew how that happened. Really? I am very frustrated and in the process of finding a new vet. Today because of Jennifer they have lost 2 long time patients. Both of our dogs are 8 yrs old. I will share this will others.

The grooming service that they have here is excellent. The groomers are very gifted. Now the animal hospital is a different story. Every time I have come here to get my dog groomed the animal hospital pulls a "he needs this vaccine to in order to get groomed" I came to drop my dog off to get groomed and the animal hospital receptionist told me my dog needed to get a lepto vaccine.
Now by law, a dog is not required to have this vaccine. And certain dogs "should" have this vaccine if they are around lakes and creeks. My dog is a indoor dog and is never around lakes or creeks. Second of all, the receptionist didn't even mention to me that my dog will be needing this when I called and spoke to her on the phone days prior to his grooming appointment (the receptionist at the animal hospital schedules all grooming appointments).
This is such an inconvenience for me to show up to a grooming appointment and expect a payment of $73 on top of a grooming fee without being notified prior to this. I understand that animal hospitals have their own set of rules and that's okay. Just notify me in advance that he needs an additional thing. I would be less upset if they had told me this before showing up.
Especially when we constantly ask them in advance if he needs any more shots or vaccines. This animal hospital is just money hungry. Its such a shame that such a good grooming service is apart of this animal hospital.

I had a horrible experience here. My kitty had an emergency and they lured me in with a low cost exam fee. By the time I left, my bill was over $300 for an X-ray and pain med and no real solutions or diagnosis They push services on to you before you know what your bill will be. And they won't bring your pet out until you have paid in full (at least in my case). They only present solutions that net them the most amount of money. Go elsewhere. This is my recommendation.

Like the previous reviewer said, they just want to take your money. Overall, I had to spend over $300 for x-rays and by the time I left they couldn't even tell me what part of my cats hind leg was hurting him and why he was walking funny. There were many customers coming in for grooming and boarding that seemed happy. But I guess for someone like me that is not a routine customer, they just want to get as much money as possible before I left the clinic.

Based on previous outdated reviews of this business, I almost passed up this hospital but am glad I didn't. I had visited a different animal hospital recently and when they were unable to accommodate us for an appt, I called Sugarloaf Animal Hospital. I was able to get an appt right away and although my pet spent the day at the hospital, we were made comfortable.
The vet, the tech, and the receptionists were all very pleasant and calm. The facility is clean, open, and inviting. There is ample parking and the access is easy to get in and out of. Two huge positives for me was that 1) there was a sink in the exam room and 2) there was a window in the exam room so I could see my pet being treated in the adjacent room. One negative, albeit a small one, is that the hospital doesn't carry a supply of prescription cat food. I will still have to purchase that at the Petsmart.

I live practically one minute away so it was clear (even being an ex vet tech myself and working at another nearby vet) that I would take my new adopted cocker "Preston" here. He'd been having diarrhea and vomiting. Took him here and the facility was clean, did not smell of animals.the doctor and techs were super gentle and super friendly. ALso they have glass windows in their patient rooms so u can see what they are doing to your pet. A+++ for me. This is definitely my new Primary Vet. Kudos.as good as it gets.
