Cats & Dogs Animal Hospital was the second veterinary clinic that we tried after moving to Long Beach two years ago and they have been very kind and caring, not only towards our 11 year old Corgi but to myself and my partner as well. I have found their pricing comparable to what our previous vet in the Inland Empire was charging and we are very happy with the overall level of service.

We have never had any trouble making appointments and always have our questions answered by the vets and staff. I highly recommend Cats & Dogs and their entire staff, they really do know how to take care of you and your furry family members.

We are so happy to have taken our pups to this vet clinic. We also feel very comfortable around the staff there, meaning I felt 100% fine with allowing the staff take one of my pups to the back and do needed medical procedures. The staff was very professional and friendly with my pups. The front office staff was also very helpful, friendly and professional with getting us started on our very first appointment. Moving on to the Dr., this was the very first time a vet took their time to explain diagnoses and treatment.

She was extremely thorough and patient during the appointment. Yes, we spent a few hours in there but it was well worth our time as we left without questions and hopeful that our pup is on his way to recovery.

Brought my cat here for an annual wellness exam. It was also her first appointment here since switching from a different vet. We had a great experience. The space is intimate and charming. Dr. Truong and the whole staff were very friendly and helpful. This was my first vet appointment with my cat that I got to be inside the exam room (adopted her at the beginning of the pandemic and only previously done curbside drop off).

I was impressed with how they handled her despite her stress about being in a new environment. She didn't even notice the vaccine she received. In the lobby when we were waiting for our appointment, the staff asked me to pick up my cat in her carrier off the floor before one of their dog patients came out, because they didn't know how the dog would react to the cats in the lobby.

This attention to detail in situations like this is much appreciated, because you know they care about the experience of both their dog and cat patients and avoid things that would add to their stress.

Doctors and staff are caring and attentive. I truly value their honesty. My dog needed to have his teeth cleaned and I feared he might also need to have a bunch of teeth removed, which would cost me a fortune. They left his teeth sparkly white clean and only removed 2 baby teeth. My bill was even lower than my lowest original quote! Finally, a vet clinic we can trust!

This used to be our go to, for what ever reason Dr. Perrault ( the vet who owns Cats and Dogs) had become all about the money had as completely has lost sight of why he is in business, animal care! Example, we have been taking our cat ( Cabo) there for years, Cabo can't handle being shaved ( he's a long hair) so the Dr.has had to sedate Cabo to shave him ( btw, the Dr isn't the one to shave him), the last 4 years the cost of the shave has been about $250 ( which is outrageous to begin with), the rate for the procedure is now $530!

Cats and Dogs Animal Hospital is the very BEST place in Long Beach offering outstanding treatment and high quality care for pets. They provided excellent care for my cat and the vets and staff are firmly committed to state of the art treatment and they explain everything thoroughly and clearly so that pet owners know what to do after leaving the hospital.

I would give them my highest recommendation in terms of nutrition, advice and any concerns about how to care for your pet. Please check them out.you will NOT be disappointed!

My cat hates the car and is usually a wreck by the time we get to the vet. He had a full workup and everything went great, so the staff must have done a pretty good job because he was at ease on the way home. I also like the way the doctor, Greg Perrault talked to me about the tentative results. They also have a pretty cool computer system that gives you a rundown of all of the ranges and conclusions from the urinalysis.

As always, the staff took great care of my dog while he was there. They truly care about your pet and are very professional. The vets are awesome and all the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else!

We had to make the very difficult decision to put down our elderly dog. I cannot imagine a more compassionate and caring place to go. They made sure our sweet boy was comfortable and we were treated kindly. The staff allowed all the time we needed and the doctor was incredibly empathetic. The entire staff sent a condolence card and the doctor made a donation in honor of our sweet boy. While this is not the cheapest, you truly receive outstanding service from start to finish. I cannot imagine ever going to another veterinarian office again.

My kitties are new patients of Cats & Dogs as of yesterday. I had previously read the yelp reviews before I decided to come here. It gave me great peace of mind to know how people felt about the care their furr babies received. We met with Dr Smith and the technicians yesterday. They were smiling and caring and just reinforced what I knew, but I was offered solutions to try.

My two boys are both overweight. I have a direction to help me help them get back on track. This is a great thing, winging it based on what I was reading on the internet was stupid on my part. The techs took care of my boys paws and claws and I'm grateful, I could not do this on my own. Thank you Cats & Dogs for being here and proving that you definitely live up to your reviews!

I took my dog here after my friend Sasha Kanno recommended the place and always thinking it looked cute from outside. It is much more than a pretty face, I wish I would have come here years ago with my baby but I'm glad we are here now that that Dr. Truong is our doctor! This was by far the best vet experience I have ever had. Every single member of the team is so sweet and knowledgeable and I felt my dog was cared for. Pricing is fair, complex medical information is made comprehensible, and I like that a variety of treatments are recommended including a more holistic approach to improve her food, do acupuncture, swimming, easy bathing and ear cleaning care, and to lose a little weight. It's always been let's X-ray, antibiotics just in case, and someone telling me she needs kibble when I've gone to other vets. I love the approach here and the overall experience was something I would recommend to anyone seeking any type of treatment for their animal.

We loved having Cats and Dogs as our vet in Long Beach. Everyone here is amazing, doctors, assistants, and front desk! We joined the kitten plan which was a great deal for all of our cat's first year care. The doctors were very gracious dealing with our new pet parent insanity. Dr Smith is great with cats and talked to us like we were old friends which helped put us at ease each visit. Alex usually answered when I called and was always super helpful with any questions I had over the phone. We would continue using this practice if we were still in the area. They are very nice but yikes @ a $75 deposit to schedule an appointment. never heard having to pay a deposit for an appointment before.

Dr. Smith is a compassionate, caring and intelligent doctor. I enjoyed meeting her and so did my dog, Daisy Mae. She got back to me personally with the results of the tests and was most gracious and helpful in answering all questions and concerns. I would highly recommend her!

Very professional and informative. Axl had an infection and they doctors were able to find the issue and give me a cure. I have been taking my dog to Cats and Dogs for about 10 years now. Dr. Abel is the best Veterinarian I have ever been to. My dog is a senior now, and examinations can be difficult with him. Dr. Abel is patient and sweet, always. Over the years, my dog has had some major health issues, and Dr. Abel has been with us every step of the way. Her practical approach to pet healthcare makes a lot of sense for us. We will always go to Cats and Dogs.

I've only been here once, but the service and experience was great. Dr. Truong saw my cat, who is extremely skittish and nervous (she was a feral kitten I rescued and loves me, but is incredibly shy around other people and will hide at home). She was such a cat whisperer! My cat didn't cry, hiss, or freak out. Instead, she calmly handled her, and asked that we not speak, so as not to scare the cat.

They did not try to upsell me anything I didn't need (post college graduate on a budget, here!). They were helpful, honest, and knowledgeable. Great customer service from the front desk! I will definitely be back.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Cats & Dogs! Great customer service, friendly staff, we love Dr. Able with her balanced holistic approach. We have two frenchies, one of which is 10weeks old, so we are there often. The only downside is because they are so awesome they have more clients than they can reasonably serve right now. Its a 3 - 4 week wait time to get in, but they do their best to address urgent issues if/when they come up.

Best vets in town! The team at Cats and Dogs are so genuine, reliable and responsive. Everyone there caters to my pup as if she was theirs. I truly give Dr. Smith and Dr. Abel 10/10!

Literally a neighborhood veterinarian office, the staff is very professional and very responsive. Just after a few visits and they know our dogs by name. All the doctors take their time carefully examining and explaining any treatments. They're never pushing a procedure or treatment without inexpensive alternatives. Most importantly they all value the actual comfort and well being of our pets, knowing when to not push treatment that void negatively affect their quality of life. Also, before any medication or treatment is performed, they carefully review line by line and it's associated costs with you to ensure you want to proceed, no pressure applied ever.

What a joke! First they misdiagnose my dog then send me to a shitty dermatologist who almost killed my dog and we spent $5k there and then when we go back for routine follow up I sat in my car for 3.5 hours and received a 10 min phone call from Dr Abel saying we missed the window for the thyroid test. well no kidding I was outside for 3 hours! I called to make an appointment but the calendar is weeks out and The only time they could see me was the week I am being induced with my second baby but they didn't care they prescribed me not even enough meds to get me through my recovery from the induction but then sent me a letter saying to never contact them again! Wtf I was nothing but nice to them and never complained once about the shitty care and service! If you care about your pet don't take them here!

It's only my first visit there but the hype is true here. The staff is easy to talk to for the most part, Dr Smith is phenomenal. She makes me feel like she really cares about Poppers and his end of life care. The parking is a challenge and really scary. just be mentally prepared and give yourself extra time. It's not easy switching vets at all and I almost don't want to post a review out of fear it will get too busy. It's just a nice thing to do for a great experience so far.

I love that they treat my pets like they are their own! Dr Abel is just amazing with both our cats and dog. Even though one is very shy she can get him to trust her. Staff is so kind and caring with all of them, I always know they are getting the best care.

I've been taking my dogs here for years. The doctors and staff are warm, caring, responsive and incredibly professional. I've been to several Long Beach vets in the past and none of them measure up to Cats & Dogs. Not even close! As long as I live in Long Beach I will remain a loyal client.

I started taking my cat to Cats & Dogs about three years ago and was pleased every time with the handling. During COVID times there have been longer waits but they were always very conciliatory of safety! I recently had to put my cat to sleep and Dr. Truong was incredibly sweet & kind handling it. She talked through everything and was petting Bella when she passed away! I will no longer need their services but highly recommend!

My cats have been coming here since 2007. Always friendly (despite Max's attitude towards them). The place is a staple in the community. Even when I moved out of the area, I still drive back.

Updating my review. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr Truong today for stock issues for my pup. She was super generous with her time and extremely personable. I have total confidence in the entire staff here at Cats and Dogs.

Customer Service was Rude and sounded like she was fed up and ready to go home. Not the kind of service I'd take my furry baby to. The girl who picked up the phone was talking super fast and made it known in her voice that she either having a bad day or just ready to go home. I wouldn't bother with this place. Customer Service was a Turn off.

Nurses were understanding and communicative, the line moved pretty quickly during Covid, and the stay in your car option seems much better for a profession that generally prefers animals to people! The doctor did not have a real grasp of our situation by the time we spoke to her, and was eager to prescribe medications, but this is typical. That day we had just treated our dog for fleas but not yet treated the cat, so she did patronizingly explain to us how fleas can spread for about 6 minutes. Otherwise, a positive experience. Pets were only slightly traumatized from their shots when they came out, and the dog even went back two days later without freaking out!

I'm not going to write a big long review, although I could. I'll just say that I trust this place absolutely and truly appreciate everything they do. Cats and dogs is the best and Rick loves you guys.

We recently brought our dog here for a check up, bloodwork, and Spay consultation. Our original vet is in Burbank. Our expectations were exceeded. Interaction: The technician and vet were both friendly, kind, they listened actively, and provided detailed information. Atmosphere: Outside while we waited my wife made a friend with a long time patron who has had several pets attend this vet. Parking: They have a small lot but there are multiple spaces with tandem parking. (It Long Beach).

As long as your willing to cooperate with others it's fine. Cost: It's a vet but they are reasonable and they help you with insurance paperwork if you have pet insurance. Extremely happy and will continue to attend.

Dr Smith is awesome. Brought my Nala here due to constant itching. Nala loved the staff and they were so great with her. Staff and MD are friendly and informative. MD came out to my car to update me and provide recommendations. A big plus for me r the early hours I had a 7:15am appt and was in and out before 8am. Due to covid they have you wait in your car but after speaking with MD staff calls u to provide estimates of recommended treatments. Prices are reasonable as well. Either street parking or limited spots in there driveway.

Dutch Master West here reporting from day 1 on the mend. After being super sick to My tummy we came in for an emergency - Dr. Truong has better bedside manners than my hoomans Drs that is forsure. I went in terrified. but when I left was only kind of scared. Good news I'm feeling better today - drinking lots of water bad news is some of my food tastes suspicious. and they hoomans follow me when I poo. I hear I will be back in two weeks. even if I don't want to. but Dr is very nice to me. We love Cats and Dogs animal hospital.

I adopted a senior chihuahua two years ago with a long list of medical issues. I shopped around for the best prices for some tests and cats and dogs came back as the most affordable. After seeing a few other vets before finding cats and dogs dr perot found some really simple issues with my dog that all the other vets missed, put him on antibiotics and he was seriously so energetic and happy. We've had two surgeries here and both times we were charged less than the lowest quote.

The doctors have all been wonderful at helping keep our little guy as healthy as possible and the front desk staff have been so accommodating for emergencies and scheduling. This is the only vet I like to bring my dog to and I'm so thankful for them!

I have been a long time client of Cats & Dogs and today is one of the few reasons why! I brought my golden retriever In because I thought a growth was getting bigger- it wasn't. I couldn't clean his ears, they are infected, I am returning, but they cleaned for me. I take my kitty Katie there for her pedicure. I fractured my knee and couldn't get out of my car so they had to get my animals from the car.

I was feeling pretty sorry for myself when I was talking to Dr. Truong, who reassured me Charlie will loose weight soon- he's being walked twice a day by dog walkers. When I got my bill, I received a "courtesy discount"! I have to say I smiled so hard my cheeks hurt! You know when you need something nice to make your day happy- thank you Dr. Truong! I needed this today! Plus the good news Charlie's growth is not growing!

My dog hasn't had many health issues in her 13 years, but she had a cyst that ruptured on her back Labor Day weekend and it was a mess. Enter the brilliant crew at Dogs & Cats. They squeezed me and puppy into their busy schedule following the holiday weekend for this growing thing on her back. They were kind, quick and put my dog at ease. After recommending a few different courses of action, they gave her massive antibiotics and sent us on our merry way.

The price was reasonable too. Our follow-up visit was a quick in and out, as well as super inexpensive. The doctors are kind and experienced. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. There is parking and plenty of dog treats for well-behaved animals. I highly recommend Dogs & Cats for anyone looking for a reasonable and knowledgeable veterinarian.
