Pantops VET Hospital is a full-service small animal veterinary facility, with practice limited to dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Our goal is to foster trusting partnerships with pet owners in a caring, professional environment. We are located on Rt 20 N, just north of the Rt. 250 intersection. Next to McDonalds. We are on the lower level of the building you see on the picture. Our entrance is around the back. The staff here have a great love for what they do. You guys do a great job! Everyone is very kind, considerate and helpful.

Dr. Helle M. Stewart: Dr. Stewart is a 1996 graduate of veterinary medicine and has lived and worked in Charlottesville since 1998. She enjoys medicine and surgery and has completed additional training in Dentistry, Soft Tissue Surgery and Abdominal Ultrasound. She opened Pantops Vet Hospital in 2007 to be able to offer personalized care to suit individual pet owners needs and to foster the human animal bond.
This lifestyle includes dogs who rarely go outside and do not get in contact with other dogs. We also recommend this package to a dog that is prone to vaccine reactions. This package is perfect for the dog that mostly stays indoor but goes to the groomer or daycare even if it is only occasionally. This is the solution we recommend if your dog rarely leaves the home but spends time outdoors around the house. The complete protection to cover all lifestyle activities including trail walks, dog parks, grooming, and boarding.
We typically recommend at least 1 yearly check up for your adult feline friend, while it is recommended for kittens to see them monthly until their final vaccination boosters are complete (around 4 months of age). During a routine wellness check up, we will discuss your cat's overall health, activity level, appetite, dental care, litter box habits, parasite control, overall lifestyle (whether indoor or outdoor), and discuss which vaccinations are recommended based on these lifestyles.

I highly recommend! My dog had an eye issue and needed to be seen asap. They got him in quickly and were very reassuring on the phone when I explained that he is really scared of strangers. Leslie was very helpful and she remained calm and positive with my baby the entire visit. Dr Stewart was wonderful and took her time to explain everything. I was allowed to stay in the exam room and even encouraged to comfort my baby while he was being examined. When I checked out, there was no surprise charges. It was exactly what I was quoted. I give them 10 stars!

We were visiting locally from Ohio and our Coton de Tulear pulled up lame after missing a jump up to the sofa. He was carrying his leg, but never whined or complained. Pantops Vet were WONDERFUL. They gave him some muscle relaxers and joint supplements, and he continued life as normal. When we got home we went to our long time much-loved and trusted vet and he had exactly the same diagnosis.
Wait and see - don't rush into surgery. Our puppy is improving every day and putting more weight on his leg. thank you, Pantops, for such kind and caring service to Clicquot and to us!

I'm from south of Richmond but while staying with family in Charlottesville for a funeral my dog ended up having a terrible allergy flare up. I called several offices before Pantops and they were the only office willing to squeeze us in for a last minute appointment. They were incredibly friendly over the phone and in person, and their pricing is very fair.
I was especially touched that they called a few days later to check to see how my dog was doing, even with knowing that I am not a local and probably wouldn't come back. Well, I was so happy with the care I received I am actually considering making the 1.5 hour drive for all vet appointments and transferring our care to them completely.

Staff is friendly and nice but every time I visit the total cost ends up being so much more then the estimate/scope I received prior to going. I went 3x in the past 6 months and every single time there was more to be added only after the vet saw my dogs (and this isn't from discovering any issues, the dogs are healthy). I finally had it today when I was told I just needed to go in for a $50 wellness checkup and was told it's $100 instead because they needed to do another random check.
I understand caring for a dog is expensive and I'm not making comments on their care but it almost feels like they're just jacking up my bill every time I come in. Don't trust their estimate on either the scope of work or the potential cost.
