Services
Old Dominion Equine Associates is a young, state-of-the-art veterinary practice specializing in equine services. Established in 2002 to service the equine community of Charlottesville, Virginia, and the surrounding area, we provide full-service veterinary care to the horses of central Virginia. We provide the best on-site care available and tailor referrals to the hospital best equipped to handle each individual case.
Old Dominion Equine Associates provides a full range of on-farm veterinary care and services. Lameness Evaluations-We apply state-of-the-art technology as well as good sense and experience to assessing, diagnosing, and treating performance issues. Purchase Examinations-We offer clients objective and thorough perspectives on prospective purchases.
Central to our relationship with the horse is our appreciation of its athletic ability. Lameness, which can be caused by a wide range of issues, impacts this ability and is a source of discomfort for the animal and worry for the owner. Evaluating lameness requires the skills of the equine veterinarian.
Purchase examination requires an in-depth knowledge of veterinary medicine, as well as a thorough understanding of the discipline of the horse being examined. It involves examination of the eyes, heart, lungs, and thorough palpation of the body and four limbs, as well as other specific areas as required.
