Clean, kind, and compassionate - exactly what I want in a vet! All of the staff at Perinton have been helpful and so sweet to my dogs. The doctors are very clear about treatment options, and laying out all of the potential choices including being very up front about pricing. They demonstrate every appointment how much they appreciate both the animals and humans who trust their practice.

The entire facility is immaculate and literally brand-new from within. There were no odors to speak off, smelled more like a corporate office than a veterinarian hospital. It was my first time entering a facility that could be mistaken for a corporate office and not a veterinarian hospital. When I walked in with my GSD (new patient) I hesitated for a moment and even did a double take that I was indeed in a vets office waiting to be told to bring my pup (81.6lbs of muscle) through an animal area as this is the human waiting area.
But nope, this was the correct entrance for both of us. The Staff, Technicians and Dr. Kristen Doerr were all caring and extremely personable. Dr. Doerr personally owns two Dobermans and is obviously very comfortable around imposing larger breeds like GSD's. Her explanations were concise and thorough. My GSD who can be more than two hands full was somewhat and surprisingly calm (for his personality) throughout the visit.
He didn't express any anxiety which normally would require him to take Trazadone 1/2 hour before a Doctor's visit to stabilize/calm his mood. I'm still unsure why he was so calm without drugs at this new Veterinarian Hospital vs the old one we used to visit Great experience overall from the people to the facility. Ample parking wheelchair accessible business.
There is ample waiting area and the whole vibe was not cramped feeling as you'd get at most veterinarian hospitals. Open floor plan so to speak. The examination rooms appeared to also be new/renovated. As aforementioned, there were no odors at all. spotless what appeard to be laminate flooring throughout not tile as you'd expect even at a human medical clinic.

I can't say enough about this practice. When our puppy started showing fear aggression at visiting the vet, Dr. Scheider and Kathy along with the rest of the staff were very helpful with providing ample information to help Charlie be a calm pup that enjoys going to the vet. They helped me set up "happy visits" and the entire staff helped to make Charlie feel happy and excited to see everyone.
We've definitely found "our vet". Fast forward -- Charlie is almost a year old now and every time we go to the vet he literally drags me into the building to see his people. We recently had our cat undergo a dental surgery and Dr. Scheider and all the staff were wonderful in keeping me updated about her progress. She's doing very well and is much happier with the problem teeth gone. I still highly recommend this vet!

Went there when my daughter's kitten was injured. Tried calling my regular vet and was told an emergency visit would be at least 3 weeks out. These guys fit him in same day and had him in for surgery on day 3. He's healing fantastic and they have the best post op care! I'm going to have to take all my pets there from now on

I have been taking my pets to Perinton Animal Hospital for years. The staff is always very friendly and caring. The Doctors have been excellent, and care very much about your pet, as if it was the only pet they had seen that day. I can't imagine ever taking my beloved pet to any other veterinary hospital!

THE best, kindest, most helpful staff I have ever had for my dog. They take care of your pet like it's their own. They are thorough with their explanations, medications, diagnoses, etc, and will answer any questions. I have never had a single bad experience here and highly recommend to everyone! All the doctors, techs and receptionists are great. Thank you everyone!

My poor dog was giving the run around and made to.come back with diagnosis that were false. 3 months later my dog was in such bad shape he had to be euthanized because they refused to treat him properly and didn't care to actually look at his x rays just wanted to charge me for them and whatever else them money hungry.could get. I had to get 2nd opinion and by then it was too late.they played me and treated him badly he such a sweet boy.

Brought our cat here, after having it recommended by a friend. When making the appointment, the person I spoke to on the phone was really friendly and helpful. At the office they were friendly and helpful as well, and gave us a number of options of what we could do to address the health issue our cat was facing. They have hours on Saturdays, which is helpful if you need to bring a pet in on the weekend. They also have a sister hospital nearby so they can get you an appointment there if it is urgent and they don't have an appointment.

I this place! The staff and Doc's are an amazing team of humans that I will always trust my fur babies with. Dr Scheider has been caring for my pets for years now. I feel like they are safe with him. He keeps up to date on the latest practice, is professional and kind, and is genuinely caring. He has help me through tough and good times with my animals.
The support staff are the backbone of Perinton Vet, both the front and back of house. I have never been treated so well by others. They keep you in the loop to what is going on. Greet you with true smiles. And are so gentle with your pets. I completely 100% recommend this place. Is always a great experience.

Will loves EVERYONE at this office. Dr. Spring has an amazing really super awesome bedside manner and is so good with his goofiness as a 120lb puppy. He had an upset tummy right after we moved here and we hadn't chosen a vet yet much less unpacked. I called after scanning reviews and Katie quickly emailed what signs and symptoms to look out for and what to feed him while he wasn't well.
We weren't patients yet and there was no "well bring him in tomorrow for this xyz exorbitant amount so we can tell you the same thing, " it was just true unabashed compassion which we lack as humans and a society more often than not. For that. Will will be a lifelong patient. I literally cannot say enough positive things about this office.

My dog, Freddie, and I love this place! We have had every single vet here. And every one of them have been kind, warm, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Freddie hears the word vet and just starts wagging his tail and going to the car. He knows that he will have a great visit due to their fear free practice. The receptionists and techs are truly exceptional as well. I have had dogs for decades and this is the first place that I have felt truly at peace knowing that Freddie will be looked after with compassion. You cannot go wrong here.

Sometimes you have to switch vets. It happens and that's okay! Our dogs love coming here! They bound right into the room and smell all around - a clean happy place! The doctors and staff are just lovely to work with and they always try to get us in if we have an emergency or strong concern about the health of our dogs. I would say reasonable - as animal care can be expensive.

While most of my experiences have been wonderful I have to say how very disappointed I was on Wednesday November 22. My animals have been patients there for 20 yrs and in a time when I really needed them I was told they were too busy and to go to the emergency vet in Henrietta. My pet needed to be put down and I had to do this with people I didn't know.
At such a crucial time I can't believe they couldn't fit me in. I've personally had scheduled appointments and been told I would have to wait due to an emergency. I wish the same courtesy would have been extended to me last night. Putting an animal down is never easy and to do it in a strange place not to mention extreme cost was heartbreaking.
If I didn't love Dr Fish and Dr Smith so much I would move my pets to another veterinary hospital. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'm heartbroken and will never forget this experience. To Dr Fish, Dr Smith, Tammy, Charmaine and a few others, you in my opinion are why I remain loyal to Perinton. I appreciate everything you have all done over the years.
Last night was hopefully not something that will ever happen again. Shame on those who turned me away in a desperate hour of need. I will never recommend anyone to this individual. Thanks for making this Thanksgiving less than pleasant for my family. The review I gave reflects only my experience recently, otherwise Dr Fish and Dr Smith would be rated off the chart for their service, knowledge, compassion, and bedside manners!

Everyone here was extremely nice and the atmosphere was calm/clean. Outside of that I've had nothing but issues. I have a now 10 month old German Shepherd. Who has had 5 infections. (All different ear, uti, bacterial, and now yeast and bacterial) She is also very lathargic, and water obsessed. All of which they didn't find abnormal. They suggested an allergy.
They just treated the symptoms, didn't believe there was any underlying bigger issue. After her 4th infection didn't clear, we decided it was time to try a new vet. Immediately I was told it's very abnormal for her to have that many complications at her age. They also found she had two separate infections even though she was only being treated/diagnosed for bacterial.
The new vet believes she has either a hormonal imbalance or diabetes insipidus. He has a few other ideas that are less likely. Neither of which she was ever tested for at Perington, or even discussed as a possibility. I would suggest them for routine matters but never for anything out of the ordinary. My gut told me some thing was wrong and they kept reassuring me this was normal. I feel guilty that she has spent her whole life ill.

Dr. Scheider is the absolute best veterinarian! We moved to the area over a year ago and Dr. Scheider was highly recommended. From the first visit with our dog, Echo, he went above and beyond. Echo can be scared of men at times and Echo loves him. Dr. Scheider wasted no time getting on the floor to visit with Echo. This took any fear Echo had away. Recently, Echo was diagnosed with bone cancer, which Dr. Scheider found immediately. Dr. Scheider has been so kind, compassionate and put Echo's well being above all.
Because of his early diagnosis and treatment options, Dr. Scheider has given us extra time to spoil our boy and his quality of life has been amazing. My husband and I both credit Dr. Scheider with saving Echo's life. Dr. Scheider takes time out of his own personal schedule to check in on Echo. We've never met a more compassionate, kind, amazing vet! I wish this allowed me to give 10 stars because he deserves it! The staff at Perinton has been wonderful also. Echo actually runs in to see them when we arrive.

This Veterinarian Hospital was an absolute awful experience for first time dog owners. Everything involved in our experience felt like a cash grab from the first appointment to a simple rabies vaccination that required another "exam" for a dog that had just had a first visit exam two weeks prior. Repeating original vaccinations already received and the vaccinating the booster when explicitly told not too makes me wish I had done my research to see if they were BBB certified before hand so I could file a dispute. Steer clear of this business unless you like to be taken advantage of is my advice. Happily transferring our services to another veterinarian.

I have used Perinton Veterinary Hospital for almost 30 years for 3 dogs and 2 cats. While the original vet has retired and turned the business over to the new staff, the quality of care my pets have received has been consistently caring and of high quality. I use their boarding facilities as well. My current dog was a stray we took in and has some behavior issues that I do not trust with just anyone. They do a wonderful job with him and I never have to worry. All of the staff at Perinton Vet truly love animals and go above and beyond.

I take all three of my dogs to Perinton Veterinary Hospital. The staff is a joy and both Dr. Scheider and Dr. Fish are great. Dr. Scheider genuinely cares and always call to check up on my dogs after a sick visit or a teeth cleaning. I board my dogs here as well and am comfortable knowing they are in such a safe and caring environment while I am gone. I recommend Perinton Vet to everyone!
