Although established in the 1960's, Back Bay Veterinary Hospital became a fixture of Newport Beach in 1978 when Dr. George Katcherian, an Armenian immigrant from Cairo, Egypt, bought the practice. Since 1978, Back Bay's mission has been to provide the most caring service possible to patients, guests and their human friends through a team of dedicated professionals.
If we determine that your pet requires a level of specialty we will coordinate your pet's referral to veterinary specialists in cardiology, oncology, and radiology. We have long term relationships with these specialized practitioners and confidence in our referrals. Dr. Reed received her veterinary degree from Kansas State University in 1991 followed by a raiology residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 1995.

It seems like some of the rating is overrated. One of the doctor keeps ramble about one single term on and on and on and on, with no actual cause said. I can't understand him most of the time, and then finally he mad at himself for miscommunication so many times and throw and tantrum saying we are referring you out. And the soon to be Karen nurse, want a promotion so bad he acts the same on the doctor fanu or whatever behalf. And the grotesque inside decoration. And the people who go there, uhhhhhhh

Been with this clinic for 10 years. Always bring my dog down yearly for her shots. Called today to order some more flea and heart worm medication and was told today that they would have to do a pet check up before they could prescribe anything. This has never been the process in 10 years! My guess is there clinic has possibly changed ownership/management? Either way they just lost a loyal customer of 10 years.

I'm giving this clinic 5 stars because they are the kindest, most caring people in this industry I have ever spoken to. My dog got hit by a car, and we consulted with about 10 or 15 vets/surgeons. Dr. K was the only one out of all of them who gave us a straightforward answer and told us what we needed to know. We are very grateful for his time and information, and giving it to us on his day off. Also, special thanks for Melina for contacting him for us, and being very cordial over the phone.

I've been going to Back Bay for over 15-17 years. The produce is usually pretty fresh and they always have new items. You can always find what you're looking for easily. All the people that work there constantly have a smile on their face and are quick to help you if you ever need anything. Good work Pavilions

I cannot say enough about this place - The Doctors are the best I have ever come across. They DO the RIGHT thing! Yesterday the Doctor (soooo nice can't think of his name - he emit's kindness and compassion) helped me with my Little Pomeranian and did something so generous for me. I am way grateful for this place and the care i receive.
