Services
June is our administrative assistant and has been with Pickens Animal Hospital since 2011. Before that she worked in the accounting field with a CPA for 25 years. June loves animals and has 1 turtle. She is married, has a wonderful daughter and son-in-law, and grandson. She loves working outside but loves playing with her grandson even more.

Dr. Burton grew up on a farm in Travelers Rest, SC and gained much experience there working with his grandfather. It was through these early years on the farm that Dr. Burton knew he wanted to become a veterinarian. After undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, Dr. Burton continued at the UGA veterinary school.
If you consider your pet a member of your family, planning an out-of-town trip can be complicated by making arrangements for your pet's care. At Pickens Animal Hospital, we have always taken pride in providing clean and comfortable facilities for your companion animal while you are away from home. Pets boarding with us receive quality care by conscientious staff members who enjoy petting and pampering your best friend(s).

I really love this place this is the second German shepherd that I've had and took there the doctor is really nice and exsplaining everything there's no other place I'd rather go and it's literally 7 minutes from my house this is max he's 12 weeks now I took my other dog that used to have there to they gave him his rabies shots and he was 2 max will be going back to get his and his last shots they love my puppy so much They also make appointments that fit your schedule max has went there to get all his shots and the rest since we got him bring the breeder

I called to make an appointment to have a cat neutered. The girl made the appointment and asked for my credit card. I thought that was unusual but gave it to her. The appointment was for two weeks later but my credit card was charged that day. As it turned out I called to cancel the appointment and asked for a refund. The girl said they didn't give refunds but would issue a credit so I could use the credit when I needed it.
It snowed the day of the appointment and their office was closed anyway. I called again to ask again for a refund and they again refused. I don't know of any other business where you have to pay to make an appointment. I've seen other reviews where they complained about their prices. Seems like they are more concerned about the money.

My puppy and me love this place. The staff is amazing. They are very courteous, they get excited to see the animals they're caring for, and they are very thorough when explaining care, options, and pricing up front before any procedures are completed. I'm so glad to have somewhere close to take my best friend to receive top notch care!

We brought our pet in for the first time last week and had a great experience. I called to make an appointment for our dog due to a concerning area on her ear. We were able to get an appointment within a week! The staff were very professional and informative. They answered any and all questions for us without hesitation. The veterinarian was very helpful in explaining his diagnosis and took time to answer all of my questions. Highly recommend this animal hospital!

Sadly our previous vet retired after many many good years. We where recommend here. Our check up visit was wonderful, someone always picks up the phone when you call. High tech, I love the inclusion of the app that helps me keep track of our dogs. Very caring, happy nurse's and doctors take the time to answer all of your questions and concerns.
