Rivertown Animal Hospital - Mary Arnesen

Have entrusted many pets over the years to this Hospital. They hire excellent staff, and my vet actually cares about my dogs. She has seen two of them through the passing over the decades. Get your dental work, x-rays, surgery, pharmaceuticals and advice here. The vets are honest about what they can do and will refer you if needed. Referrals not needed often.

We brought our 2 dogs here regularly and occasionally our 2 cats over the course of about 4 or 5 years. I had an emergency with my kids and had to cancel an appointment an hour before it was to take place, when I called back to reschedule I was told that I needed to prepay for my appointments going forward because of my "history of last minute cancellations and no shows" and that I had cancelled "10 minutes before the appointment." Now, I knew that we'd been overpaying for care, because we paid a lot more to take our girls here then anyone we knew was paying, but we liked the doctors and staff and so just kept going.

This was sort of the catalyst for us finally changing our vet. We've spent thousands on our animals here, and this was a very poor way to be treated at the end of that. Life happens, and I certainly wasn't chronically no showing appointments. I have 2 children under 2, and sometimes they need me more than my dogs need a regular check up. Incidentally, when we changed vets, even the medication that my dog is on for arthritis is now cheaper.

Same medication. Same dose. Same amount. That's ridiculous. The doctors here are great and they do care about your pets. But I thought this might be important info for others wondering if they should bring their pets here.

No waiting and very clean lobby area. The staff treated my puppy and I very well as this was the first time here for both of us. Dora is a Basenji puppy, so I waited to make sure they had experience with that breed. They took care of all my needs and questions. I highly recommend this group.

Rivertown is simply the best group of doctors and staff for giving compassionate care along with veterinary skill and excellence. Each pet entering the clinic is greeted with the most sincere, happy welcome by staff who truly love animals -- something that you can't fake! Dr. Garlie has gone the extra mile for our dog and us. We would never consider taking our pets anywhere else and recommend Rivertown wholeheartedly!

I can't say enough positive things about this clinic. Exceptional staff, high-quality care and attention to feline specific needs. They treat my cats like their own and my cats always have a great visit. After getting two new puppies, I called two places and asked for pricing on initial vaccinations. One place just told me it would be between a certain value, Rivertown though, walked me through everything that they could do, what they recommended, and the individual price for each. I have been so pleased with the time and attention they have given me to make sure all of my questions have been answered.

I have been going to Rivertown for well over a decade. Dr. Garlie and her staff are excellent in all they do for me and my cats. I trust them completely in the medical care they provide. They have been there with me through good and bad, from pet wellness to euthanasia. I recommend them highly for the care of your beloved pets. My doggo, Duke, usually goes to a different vet to be seen, but the last two times we were not able to get him into our usual place so we called around and ended up at Rivertown. Both visits were absolutely wonderful. The staff is so kind and simply wonderful. The second time Duke had to be seen, I called them and they got him in right away. I had to leave him there for a couple hours, but they called me to inform me of any changes, explain exactly what they were doing, and help me come to a conclusion on what to do. I highly recommend them! Thank you to all of the Rivertown Animal Hospital! Each and everyone of you are rockstars.

I went to Rivertown when I couldn't get into my other vet.and let me just say, they had me sold! I'm switching to them and couldn't be more thrilled. They are so great with the animals and so nice. They took such good care of my sick dog. Highly recommend!

We are so happy to be back with our new puppy HoneyCrisp after being gone for 4 years. This veterinarian has been an extension to our family with the love, care, support and attention to detail that they provide. So thankful to have a place like this to help our loved ones.

They have taken very good care of all of our pets, " dogs, cat's and a leopard gecko " with preventative checks and occasional emergencies, I highly recommend them.

Great experience with this vet. Brought my pup in after visiting 2 other vets and I think I've found the one! They we very friendly, knowledgeable and even kept me updated when she was in getting cold water therapy treatment to her back (highly recommend) they even sent me a picture of her which I now have to frame it's so cute. Thanks for the great experience and the thorough follow up to see how she was doing.

We love everyone at this clinic! The support staff, the vets, everyone is wonderful, caring and professional. Lately, we have been taking our near 15 year old Big Dog to see Dr. Mark for chiro care. It has been absolutely life changing for him and brought back his bouncy nature and stability in his hips! We highly recommend them and trust them.

Rivertown squeezed in an appointment for our sick dog when 14 other vets would/could not. This is a modern, very professional and empathetic operation, and except for the distance from our home, we would see them more frequently. Costs seemed very reasonable and treatment options were transparent and well explained.

I brought my daughter's dog to them in an emergency. They were very professional yet very kind. It was a heartbreaking experience and they walked us all through it. They answered all our questions and we didn't feel like we were bothering them with follow up calls, they actually encouraged it. Our little guy was in the very best of hands. Dr. Garlie and Rivertown Animal Hospital has kept my 18 year old cat, Max healthy for the last 17 years. I credit a great deal of his longevity to the careful attention he has always received from the staff at Rivertown. Dr. Garlie is very knowledgeable and always responsive to my requests for more information regarding options for Max's care. At 18, Max is thriving thanks to Rivertown!

Rivertown administered unauthorized vaccines to my 15 week old puppy. Their inability to listen or work with the owner is only surpassed by their lack of communication skills.

I had an emergency with my little pup and my own vet wouldnt see him. Called Rivertown and they said bring him right in. We were greeted with so much compassion and concern, and he received the such great care. The doctor was amazing as well as her technician. We were given options for treatment and wonderful advice. We had a wonderful experience at Rivertown today. My family and I are new to Stillwater and needed to bring our two-year-old German Shepherd in for a check up. Here we are dealing with some bad allergy issues. Poor Bentley has to be sedated to get into those sore ears. New diet and a full bath. Great first experience with Rivertown Animal Hospital! We had an emergency visit over the busy holidays. Rivertown fit us in, welcoming us with kindness and patience. Our recent move to Stillwater left behind a. beloved vet of 30 years. Knowing I can find such loving care near our new home gives us great relief! For me, a great veterinarian has a clean facility, caring staff, guilt-free, frank communication of costs and a willingness to discuss options. Rivertown gets an A+ from me!

We absolutely love our vet, Dr. Carrie Howe. She is always honest with us and puts the best interests of our two dogs first. She is always happy to see them and us. She is amazing and we would follow her anywhere.
