I have worked for VetCor for two years as a staff veterinarian (24 years experience). The last three months as chief of staff of one of their clinics. There have been bumps in the road, but overall I have had a positive experience. There is the freedom to practice within the standards of care. I feel supported by my regional manager. I have seen firsthand VetCor show compassion for one of my previous partners and fellow employees dealing with a prolonged illness.

They are a company that cares for their staff. As I read through the other reviews, I began to reflect on the negativity. The veterinarian profession is going through some rough times. There are staffing difficulties. The numbers quoted at the last conference I attended stated 1% of veterinarian students track toward equine practice. Of that 1%, 50% will leave the equine field within five years.

This job has a high demand and is stressful. All of these factors make VetCor's job even more difficult. I believe they care and support their employees. Grace and mercy are hard to come by these days. With social media, everyone is a critic. If the outcomes of life don't go their way, then someone has to be responsible? I'm not sure if there is a correct answer. Still, in my experience, VetCor endeavors to support and pour into their veterinarians and support staff while navigating a litigious society.

VetCor bought the large animal practice that had been servicing my dairy goat farm for 7 years. Immediately the service and positive relationship we had developed went downhill and in 6 months they dropped me as a client, stating they no longer had enough workforce to service our area. Yet I know for a fact that they still come to a large neighboring farm that is likely more profitable. This borders on an ethics violation. Terrible experience.

VetCor is the owner of Wilton Animal Hospital. I will post my complaint about them below, but the complaint about this company is that they don't even bother to call you back regarding your concerns. Wilton Animal hospital advertises emergency care during open hours, laughable! I have been a customer since 2009. I called for 2 days in a row letting the office know that my dog was not well.

I asked to come in two days in a row. I was turned away by whoever answered the phone (she didn't sympathize with the animal and shouldn't be in this field). Didn't even get a phone call from the Vet asking what is wrong. Wow, what horrible service. They only seem to want to help you with well visits and very happy to take your money. I don't know what happened to them, but their service went downhill.

I will never use them again. If you are thinking of using them, RUN! I took my dog to another vet, and he needed antibiotics for a possible infection. After receiving the care, he needed he was back to normal. What a disgrace this animal hospital has become. My dog suffered for 2 days because of their lack of concern. Some of the staff is rude, unprofessional and can't follow through with simple instructions. They don't even deserve one star. This practice needs a significant overhaul.

It's a shame that this corporation feels the need to charge ridiculously inflated prices for routine/common procedures. Cost for a Spay is starting at $650 and that is just the bottom range. I have been a long time client of West Allis Animal Hospital in Wisconsin and they were bought out by this money hungry organization. Unfortunately after being a regular I will no longer go there for dental proceduresmore than doubled since corporate took over or a routine spay or neuter which is insanely priced!

More than double the cost of a near by clinic and more than 6 times more costly than the local spay/neuter WI humane society clinic. Go ahead and be greedy, your customers are noticing. Soon they will all find elsewhere to go.

Vet Corp recently (2-4 years ago), took over a small animal hospital in Lynbrook NY that we have been using since 2011. Initially there was little difference. However in the last 2-3 years the changes have been immense. First off they eliminated Sunday office hours. While I'm sure some actuary reviewed the numbers and found it not profitable enough to remain open, it is none the less a necessity.

Let's face it, our dogs and cats don't take a time out on Sunday to remain healthy. It's a horrible feeling to have an ill pet and your vet who knows you and your pet is closed. Almost feels like patient abandonment. In the last 18 months 2 of our pets became terminally ill in a period that stretched over a weekend. In both instances we were given a rush exam on Sat afternoon and referred to a Veterinary specialist.

This specialist was a half hour away. Forgetting the cost of basically repeating the labs done just hours earlier we had to make a decision to put our animals down in a place that did not know us or our pets. Fortunately they where both straight forward outcomes and we were able to make the correct decisions fairly rapidly with little hesitancy. None the less we felt let down by Hilton's absence during our time of need and have left the practice.

To the CEO of Vetcorp, shame on you for placing a few dollars ahead of the needs of your clients many who have been with your Hospitals for far longer than our 10 years. You have turned a once proud and respected VETERINARY HOSPITAL into little more than a well visit and vaccine clinic. It is my hope thatmany who read this post will ask the difficult questions and move to a full service veterinary hospital before they face the dilemma we did.

Terrible. We have been taking our 5 yr. Old Cocker Spaniel to Falmouth Animal Hospital since we got her. She weighed 23 lbs and was on heartguard for dogs 10-25lbs. She gained 3 lbs and was 26 lbs when Dr Hauser gave us heartguard for dogs 26-50 lbs knowing full well she was very sensitive to medications and vaccines. She even had issues with the lower dose heartguard.

Less than 48 hours after giving her the 26-50lb heartguard she hada siezure. Dr. Hauser denies it had anything to do with heartguard even though it has not happened since. This vet blames us as owners for every issue our dog has. The prices are outrageous since vetcor moved the animal hospital into a new place. The vet put our dog on a rx diet and we have had a hard time getting a prescription when we order the food.

Then when we asked about weaning her off the rx diet, we were told that it wasn't their problem. go find a dietitian. So we did.we also changed vets within the same practice and when Dr. Hauser found out she told us we were not a good fit for her practice. I reported it to vetcor and they basically told me to go to another vetcor practice. Like hell I will.

I will however be reporting both vetcor and Dr. Hauser to the Mass.board of registration of veterinary medicine. That was a small taste of what this overpriced incompetent vet has done to my poor innocent dog. I wouldn't bring a sewer rat to Falmouth Animal Hospital.

For anyone that uses Chase Veterinary Clinic did you know they were sold to Vetcor? We will not be bringing our animals back there! Multiple times I have had to go back on my own time because they made an error. This last time was the final straw. My dog has been on the seresto collar and tri-heart plus for yearsssss. This visit they decided to give my husband nex-guard and interceptor plus.

He failed to check the bag that they packaged for him. I brought the bag back immediately and politely explained that we must have been given someone else's stuff. We have never gotten this, it is no where in my dogs file. Their response was basically this stuff is better and they have a no return policy on it! On their mistake! I am actually mind-blown.

They didn't understand what the big deal is but I think it is my choice on what I want to use for flea/tick and heart worm prevention and it shouldn't be changed on me after all these years and basically the only option is deal with it. Seems to me like they are getting a kick back from certain brands so trying to force that on their customers. I don't like that type of bad business at all. It is unethical. Moving on to a new place that still care about the pets and the customers!

VETS - DO NOT SELL YOUR PRACTICE TO THESE PEOPLE! After trying to reach someone at this company by phone for half an hour with no success, I decided in the meantime to voice my opinion here. Vetcor bought my veterinary clinic two years ago. I have been going to the lead vet for 10 years. She started the clinic and is the main asset of the clinic. She is an incredible vet, which is something that is really hard to find.

After my vet told Vetcor that she wanted to start working only 3 days a week, which was the original agreement when the practice was purchased 2 years ago but Vetcor never followed through, they just flat out fired her. Vetcor's website says, "We believe in doing the right thing and we let our actions speak for themselves." Well, your actions have spoken loud and clear, getting rid of the only woman who any client of Rosedale goes to see. HUGE mistake.

You are going to lose all of the current clients. Good luck rebuilding the practice with the terrible vets y'all have been hiring to "help" her for the past 2 years. Y'all are horrible and irresponsible management to not recognize that you are getting rid of the main asset of your purchase. You have done pets a HUGE disservice and I hope that other vet clinic owners will see this and reconsider selling their practices to you.

I have been a customer of a particular Animal Hospital in New Jersey for 34 years. This hospital is presently celebrating 40 years of service. I had no idea they went Corporate until today. I am wondering why I never received a letter of sort stating this change? I find this unprofessional. In addition, I had to bring my dog in this evening for a possible burst cyst above her hock, outside of leg and also a nail trim.

I was asked if I would like a blood test done as a safe guard since my dog is a senior, I agreed. When all was said and done, I was given my itemized bill and almost flipped my "ship". Over $400. I then refused the blood test and it brought my bill to $230. The itemization was as follows: $85 Exam, $20 Bandage Application, $20 Nail Trim, $4.00 Medical Waste (WHAT!?), $16.00 Anti-Inflammatory, $78.13 Anti-Biotic.

Why am I charged $85 exam/visit, what is included in that? I was never charged extra, i.e., $20 Bandage Fee, $4 Med Waste Fee, EVER prior to this evening. Shall I bring my own sharps container and bandage next time? This is ludicrous to charge me and other customers in this rural town such outrageous, ridiculous prices. And, may I add, our long time Vets and Vet Techs have recently retired.pretty much all at once so I can say that I don't have any further loyalty with this practice, it's a shame. I will be going elsewhere. Good luck.

Vetcor bought the animal hospital where I work almost 4 years ago. I was nervous at first, very worried how things would change, but now my only wish was that it had happened sooner. Our benefits have increased tremendously! We now have way more sick pay and vacation days in addition to paid holidays, pay rate has increased every year, we receive quarterly bonuses, 401k, much better (and cheaper) health insurance, and many corporate discounts now available to us, etc.

Our hospital was beautifully remodeled and we were able to upgrade our outdated equipment.the list goes on and on. Vetcor did not come in and just "take over." Our hospital is still ran the same way, by the same people, but they have helped add to our success with wonderful business suggestions. (In fact, most of our clients don't even realize we are now corporately owned.) Vetcor has shown me that they truly care about their employees and they strive to make the workplace successful, safe and enjoyable. I am so happy to be apart of such a wonderful company! Thank you for all you do, you are definitely appreciated!
