Services
Bay Area Veterinary Hospital opened its doors on Kent Island in August of 1996, offering both Western medicine and Acupuncture. Our wonderful staff has always consisted of devoted individuals. This includes interning high school students and pre-vet students, among others who have a special love for animals.
My name is Cynthia S. Dahle, VMD and I am the owner of Bay Area Veterinary Hospital. I felt that in order for me to get to know you and your pet, you should know a little about me and my qualifications first. I received my Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine (V.M.D.) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 1993 after a 13 year career as a nurse having graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1979.My certification in Veterinary Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society was acquired in 1993.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Bay Area Veterinary Hospital stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.

He doesnt look too happy but believe me my cat Max loves all the vets and techs here! He loves and cuddles all over as they are trying to take temps and heart rate and all that good stuff. He just doesnt stop moving! They do a wonderful job with not only Max but a whole list of my cats and dogs and even my ferret at one point! Everyone that works here is amazing and knows what theyre doing and you can just tell they have a love for all the animals they see on a daily basis! Have been going here since i moved to the island 10 years ago. Theyre reliable, consistent, and always take such good care of my babies!

Great staff! Dr. Ewing is VERY KNOWLEDGABLE and provided excellent answers for all of my questions! Prices are SO MUCH less than I was paying at the previous vet and the staff don't make you feel rushed or unimportant. I would recommend Dr. Ewing to anyone who likes to know what is going on with their pet!

We've been patients of Bay Area Vet through 5 different fur babies over the past 15 years. Dr Ewing has been great and is very compassionate as we had to send 3 of our 5 over the rainbow bridge. That being said, my fur baby is currently suffering from a furncle/abscess on her paw and I can get neither an appointment nor an antibiotic without her being seen.
I guess my choice is to assess if this is emergency enough to take her across the bridge to Annapolis to the emergency vet clinic Or try to wait it out and treat her with natural holistic antibiotics that I had to research on my own. I was offered no guidance from the receptionist at Bay Area. Not the first issue I've had there but I won't go in to the others. Time to make the switch.

We bring our dog to Bay Area Vet and love it there! We actually moved about an hour and a half away and still continue to come back to this vet. We appreciate the flexibility that Bay Area has, especially when we have had emergency situations from such a distance away. Definitely recommend Bay Area Vet.
