Services
Our staff at Parkville absolutely love animals - it's the reason we work so hard to provide the highest level of care and attention at every visit. That passion is also informed by years of focused experience and training in veterinary care, including everything from advanced treatments to no-fear handling that helps ensure that your pet is comfortable during visits.
Parkville Animal Hospital's history begins back in 1985, but one thing that's remained consistent over the years is our dedication to the highest level of pet care and veterinary technology. We've experienced growth, expansion, and additions of team members along the way, but the compassionate care we've provided has remained consistent for the last 35 years- and will always remain that way in the future. As owner Dr. Duane S. Mangini V.M.D. began seeing more patients, he quickly found that the business needed room to grow.
Parkville Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary clinic, which means that we offer everything from wellness visits and diagnostic care to advanced treatments and surgical procedures. Our expert team is supported by an advanced facility that lets us diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions and injuries your pet may experience.

A couple months back I explained to my vet that I thought my dog was experiencing the symptoms of sarcoptic mange due to our neighbor feeding a neighborhood fox that was living in our yard. The vet assured me that my dog merely had an ear infection and that she was most likely experiencing allergies. He successfully prescribed an antibiotic for the ear infection and suggested Apoquel for the allergies. Having some optimism we denied the Apoquel and accepted the antibiotics.
After a few weeks when the ear infection cleared up and the itching persisted, we returned to get my dog tested for sarcoptic mange. Again the vet insisted that it wasn't mange but allergies. I was skeptical that it could be allergies due to the fact that my dog was 11 years old and hadn't ever had allergies prior. I had to push the vet towards prescribing her meds for mange against his better judgement.
Two months later and my pup is completely clear of itching after the medication for mange. I really want to think this vet had my best interest in mind but the fact that he refused to test my dog and insisted it was allergies, doesn't rub me right. If I had taken his advice, I would be paying ~$150/month for Apoquel directly to his pocket for the rest of my dogs life and not ever thought twice about it. I'm sorry to say but I will no longer be a client at Parkville Animal Hospital.

I will never go here again. I got an appointment very quick and wondered why, well it was because no one wants to have their animal seen at this establishment. The vet had no bedside manner and came in and said your cat has a big problem and wouldn't answer me. I was told he needs the majority of his teeth out despite him only being 1 at the time.
I went to another vet for a second opinion and they only took out a couple teeth and said it was genetic and prefaced by saying how well I was taking care of him. Don't come here unless you want to get berated and charged unnecessarily.

We've been taking our dog here for about a year and a half now and can't express how great of care they take of him. We've never been inside of the office bc we started going during Covid, but our dog is always well when he leaves. We fully trust their guidance and care with our particular dog. Always available for consults over the phone and they can usually get him seen with a reasonable amount of time. The prices are pretty good compared to others. We moved about a 1/2 hr away and still make the commute to this doctors office.

The staff are always very helpful and understanding. You can tell they really care for your pet as much as you do. From the minute you make an appointment, then curb side dropping off, and pick up you know you're pet will be well taken care of. My one cat has to stay all day for sugar curve testing and Dr. Mangioni calls me himself to talk over how WE should proceed not just how he wants to. So glad I found this animal hospital where you're not treated like an assembly line.

I decided to become a first-time dog mom during the pandemic. I have probably called Dr. Martin and the entire staff at Parkville Animal Hospital countless times with constant questions and concerns. They have gone above and beyond to make sure I had an answer and followed up either immediately or shortly after via phone call. Every time we pull up, our puppy, Mads, is incredibly excited and loves going to the vet to say hi to everyone in the building.
It's very clear that they love her like their own and it gives me peace of mind when ever she has an appointment. They're helpful, knowledgeable and caring and at this point, they feel like part of our family.

The staff at Parkville is amazing! The front desk, vet techs and vet are so friendly and caring! I went to another vet in the area before moving to Parkville Animal Hospital and the difference was night and day. They genuinely care, and are very up front and honest about options; I don't feel like they are trying to make money off me and rush me out the door. If you're in the area and looking for a great group of folks to provide care to your four-legged friend, Parkville Animal Hospital is the place to go!

I had Elsa in for a wellness exam and distemper shot last month. I scheduled her booster shot for August 14th. I was charged for another wellness exam along with the booster shot. She JUST had a wellness exam a month ago. I contacted another reputable animal hospital and was told I would only be charged for the vaccine. That's highway robbery. I will no longer be a patron of Parkville Animal Hospital.

Parkville Animal Hospital is the only place I will take my fur babies. The staff is so nice and they actually care about you and your pet. Anytime I have ever had a question or concern they have always gone above and beyond to help us. Very compassionate staff. And Dr Jess is amazing. I moved to Harford County and still will drive all the way to Parkville.

I brought my lovely Sebastian to them when he was sick. They kindly told me he wasn't well and most likely would not get better. Having them by my side during this process was helpful. Whenever I called, they were so responsive and kind. Even though he passed at home. They sent me a sweet card from their office and called to check in on me. It brought tears to my eyes knowing that they took the time to write sweet words for me about him.
I guess he was that type of cat to touch people pretty quickly. Whenever I get a pet again, best believe this will be the place I will go to. I can't say thank you enough from Sebastian and I.
