1945 - Dr. Harold Nurse's two sons, Howard and Grey, returned from WWII and started attending veterinary school during the day, and finished their high school courses at night. 1966 - Dr. Moore made the decision to retire and sold his practice to the two brothers from Ontario, Dr. 1975 - The practice was growing too big for the current space, so a new building was built and the veterinary hospital moved from Detroit to St. Clair Shores.

I have been going to Moore Vet for over 20 years, since then, Dr. Nurse has retired. The business has gone down hill. Long wait time, phones busy, can't get in soon enough for emergencies. I recently took my dog in because she wasn't limping (it took a week to get in), when she got in, the doctor said there was nothing wrong, gave her pain meds and said reschedule for X-rays.
In the mean time, she started vomiting her food, continued limping and her breathing was rapid. They refused to take her in and said call emergency!? Why would I call emergency when they are my vet? Long story short, we lost our baby due to an enlarged heart with a mass growing. She couldn't breathe. Shame on Moore Vet! They need to change the name on the sign, they do not deliver the compassion and empathy that Dr. Nurse did.

We were limping and at first unable to get an appointment but they had a list for cancellations, and later on the same day they called to say that an appointment opened up for us. Now we are on an anti-inflammatory and hope to be up and walking without a limp shortly. In addition, we had some itchy ears and decided to make sure there wasn't anything else. Got some drops and Dr. B. was willing to give me all the time we needed. She answered our questions and put us at ease. Thank you.

Veterinarians and staff are kind, efficient and professional. The vet Gracie usually sees is Dr. Burkholder, but she's seen two others and they were just as gentle and knowledgeable. Gracie has been treated for her hypothyroid condition, given all her shots, and been well-tested and examined at Moore for two or three years now. Moore's staff reopened the clinic safely after changing their system because of the pandemic.
When I get to the Moore parking lot, I stay in my car and text the staff my spot number. I get a quick response, and someone comes out to take Gracie inside. Everyone, in the car or from Moore, wears masks. Pets needed care despite the virus, and Moore provided it. I highly recommend Moore. Update: Moore is now allowing one person to go inside with their pet.

I cannot say how great Moore Veterinary Hospital is. Their staff member's are super sweet and so great with animals. The veterinarians are so great with your animals & their pet parents. The vet physician takes their time with each pet patient and never seem in a hurry. The vet's are very knowledgeable in pet care & pet breeds. Scheduled appointments are pretty spot in with Moore Veterinary Hospital.
Even with COVID going on the appointments are well organized as well as the services for your pet. Pretty prompt staff when it comes to the needs of your pet. The office is well maintained and super clean as well. The charges you occur for services are reasonable as well. The vet's are very honest in the treatment of your pet. The vet's do not try to add anymore to the bill if it's not deemed nessessary. I am glad I found a great place to give my pet's great quality care

I have brought 3 of my animals here for emergency urgent care. When all the animal hospitals were full or telling me I had to wait 5 hours in my car, they made the time. At this point I'm going to completely switch to them as my primary vet because they leave no stone unturned. They're very thorough and professional and give you lots of care options while being upfront about costs. I highly recommend them for your animal care.
