Maple Veterinary Hospital

Just called about an emergency and was met with a condescending lady that basically told me 'good luck' with my situation. Not helpful, not empathetic, and was the rudest response I've ever received when calling about a potential new patient. If you're looking to go here, don't. I can't believe I downloaded Yelp to write this but my experience on the phone was so bad I felt the need to inform others.

I cannot rave enough about this veterinary clinic. I have been taking my two cats there for over 3 years. They are always available by phone for support, and always have you and your pets best interest. They always recommend home remedies and cost affordable options prior to running expensive tests, but always take your concerns seriously. They are the best.

I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else even if I moved out of the area. Couldn't recommend them enough. Dr. Smith is awesome, but we have been seen by other doctors there and always have a great experience. Couldn't speak more highly of these vets and their vet techs.

Outstanding compassion and care for all our furry family. Have had nothing but outstanding results from all the staff, doctors, techs, and office. Very highly recommended.

This is such a great place. I used to go to Great Lakes Animal Hospital (also great, Drs. Sahni and Patel are smart and honest) in Clinton Twp, but I moved and wanted a closer location. Dr. Mike, Vet Tech Jessy, Dr. VanHusan and are amazing! They are all smart, nice, and great with my pups, Cricket and Rosie. Dr. Mike is incredible and super honest about your pets' needs. He will let you know if any procedure, etc. you are anticipating is not worth it because it is unnecessary or another alternative is better.

Lovely experience all around. They are super clean and friendly. They don't try to push you to do unnecessary things, and the treatment they recommended for an issue I brought up during the check up worked great. They know what they're doing.

Very good place not test happy techs are all smart vet is pleasant and knows his stuff I feel secure when I bring my pets here The wait is never that long I just know they will help in a timely fashion

Amazing hospital and absolutely love the helpful staff! Been going to Maple Veterinary Hospital ever since we brought home our Golden Retriever who is now 2 years old. We recently took our Golden on a road trip to Myrtle Beach. didn't realize she would be so anxious during the whole car ride! (panting, shaking etc. for 13 hours straight). As soon as we arrived to our destination, I called Maple Vet and they were so kind to contact the local pharmacy to prescribe some meds for the car ride back to Michigan. There have been several instances where we needed immediate assistance and Maple Vet has been so reliable. Thank you all so much!

They are one of the best. Dr. Smith is great she has taken great care of our girl. She is a black lab. When we brought her to see Dr. Smith, she looked at her and said does she do a, b and c. We said yup. She then stated what was her issue and corrected it. We had taken her several times to see another vet who kept telling us something totally different and when we'd take her back they would say we'll increase her antibiotics.

My dog was miserable, didn't want to do anything. And the problem was never solved at that point. Dr. Smith was a referral and she is one of the best referrals we have ever had. Our girl was fine. She has been taking care of her for over 11 years. Today she has cancer and we are so happy to have her by our side. She is always up beat and encouraging. If our girl is doing bad dr. Smith tells you with words of compassion. Dr. Smith loves her patients and they love her.

Words cannot describe how incredibly happy I am that I found this veterinary hospital. For as long as I live in the Detroit area, MVH will always be my go-to for pet health. The staff is knowledgable, patient, incredibly kind, and they really do their best to fit you into their busy schedule if you call with an emergency. My cat was recently in for urinary issues and they've called me a couple times to follow-up on him after his appointment. I love MVH and won't take him anywhere else. Thank you to everyone who works there!

Dr. Mike and the techs are great. Really make you feel like family and their love for animals really show. My golden retriever acts like a lap dog and Dr. Mike did not mind at all being sat on and covered with my golden's hair.

Awesome staff. they made me feel really comfortable even though my cat was sick. super nice and friendly people, they took her in quickly and i didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes to see the veterinarian, and gave my cat some treats for the way home! :

Highly recommend this vet! The staff is always friendly. They take the time to answer any questions you have. They always go over treatment options and their costs prior to rendering the services. I have been coming here for years with my cats and dog. I recommend them to friends and family and have yet to hear anything, but positive feedback. I have been told they are more expensive than other vets, but for the quality of service and how they treat you like family I think it is worth it.

My family has gone to Maple Vet for close to 20 years. Now that I have my own family and 2 rescue pitties, we also go here. Dr. Mike is always amazing! He gets down on the floor with my pups and let's them smell and kiss him. He's very knowledgeable, personable, easy to talk to, and honest. Christine, at the front desk is friendly, and vet techs Jessie & Kelsey are great with my dogs and my son. Would definitely recommend Maple Vet!

June 26th my 16 year old Pomeranian was dying. I called at least 10 vets to get an appointment to put my baby out of her pain. Every single veterinarian I called only had appointments two weeks out. I called Maple Veterinarian Hospital and they were able to squeeze me in at 3:30 pm that day. They were very kind and caring. My doggie ended up passing that day at 11 am so I didn't have to put her down. A week later I received a condolences card with every employee's signature from the Maple Veterinarian Hospital. I would hands down recommend this place.

Dr. Mike and the staff treat you like
family. My fur babies love them and they love the fur babies. Prices are reasonable and their COVID procedures are wonderful (Very safe). I cannot say enough good things. Thank you for looking out and caring for my monsters.

I have never met a Vet like Dr. Mike. This man is one of a kind. The first time we ever took our shepherd there was because a different vet started treating her with some expired medicine so we knew we needed to make a change. Is there a better way to let a dog get to know you than to sit on the ground and let the dog investigate you? I don't know of one. That's what Dr. Mike did.

My dogs love this guy. He builds amazing rapport with the dogs and with the humans. He always takes time to talk to you and get to know you and your family. I wish he was closer to us as we are now in Chesterfield. But when the dogs need something, I will gladly drive out to see him. Every tech and receptionist we've encountered throughout the years has been outstanding, caring and simply pleasant people.

Hard to find that now a days. If your pets need anything, you come see this man. You will walk away assured and relaxed that your family is in good hands! Thank you for everything, Dr. Mike and the staff!

Amazing Vet and Amazing Staff. My parents Giant Breed Alaskan Malamute was taken care of so professionally it was an unbelievable experience. My parents dog was hurting very bad from leg pain she was crying so badly morning noon and night. We thought it was a sprain or a pulled muscle. They took her to their original vet which they didn't even listen to what my parents told them and took down all the wrong information regarding her leg.

There old vet told my parents that everything was normal and there was nothing to worry about, but mean while she had a hard time walking They also told us she was over weight. It was time to get another vets opinion. Maple did rounds of tests to get answers about her bad pain. My parents dog had bone cancer. We couldn't believe it. This vet took care of her like it was one of their own.

They tried to make her comfortable until the time came to put her down. The cancer was spreading. With that being said with her not being able to walk my parents actually did a at home euthanasia. It was one of the hardest things, but the Dr. and Technician that came out to the house Were so professional and so incredibly nice. They took their time and went over the step by step process and gave us all as much time as we wanted to say goodbye. I'm so Thankful my parents found this vet.

I am using this vet for my own animals as well. There animal chiropractor services are amazing as well. Never even knew it was a thing until my other parents dog hurt his back running and that helped him out a lot! One more thing I wanted to add my parents and I did contact the other vet after finding out it was bone cancer after they told us she was fine didn't even care they also told us the doctor took an X-ray of the wrong leg. What a great thing to hear! All they wanted was the money. Hard to trust vets this days but we love maple and we are staying!

I've taken my pup, Bowie, to Maple Vet from the start. Almost 2 years now and they've always been amazing. I've interacted with Dr. Smith and Dr. Mike and they're both very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions that I have. Staffs are always friendly as well. Due to covid, they are currently doing curbside dropoff/pickup but the process is easy. They will give you a call afterwards to fill you in on how your dog/animal is doing, etc. Glad to know that my pup is in good hands!

I had to brag about the service from Maple that we received from the Dr and the staff. I have taken my buddy here for the last 4 months. (Don't ask me why I hadn't before - I wish I'd found this place sooner) He's a little over 12 years old and had to have surgery. They took every precaution and went above and beyond for him! I can't tell you enough good about this place and staff!

They love their jobs! Thank you Dr. Mike and the whole entire staff for your care, you honestly have no idea how happy this makes me feel! Please don't hesitate to take your loving fur animal to them!

We absolutely love Maple Veterinary. We happened upon Maple when the vet where my parents take their dogs couldn't get us in for over a month and I am so happy we did. Every single staff member from the front desk, vet techs and doctor are phenomenal! They listen to our concerns about our little guy (and the list is always long, first time puppy parents haha) and answer all questions.

When our little guy was sick last week they got us in quickly and made sure to address all symptoms he was having! They even were so super kind when we called to update them on how he was feeling. I am so happy we found Maple and Dr Smith and will definitely recommend them to anyone!

Our pup had an emergency injury and they squeezed us in the same day. Very happy with the care we received from all the lovely ladies at the front desk & the vet. You can tell they have a passion and caring heart for what they do. Dr Smith is the best!

I love everything about Maple Vet! Dr Mike and staff are the most caring group of people, and my pets love them! Unfortunately, I needed to put my kitty to sleep last week and the staff let me come in to be with him when this was performed (I couldn’t before last week due to COVID). Everyone was so empathetic during this time.. Dr Mike assured me I made the right decision when making the final call to put him down, unlike many other vets who want to keep doing procedures to make money even though they know it’s their time.

This week, I also received a card signed by everyone in the clinic and a “rainbow bridge” poem with his paw stamp on it. Aside from this, I’ve taken my other pets in for normal bloodwork and shots and I’ve always gotten in very quickly and received the best care then as well! I highly recommend Dr Mike and staff!

I moved to Royal Oak recently so needed a new vet. What a nice surprise to find such a good vet and staff. I took in 2 cats, one young, one old for shots and a check up. They called me back within minutes - yay! - and the tech weighed them, got their info and asked what I was there for. After that the vet came in fairly quickly and examined both cats and we discussed what shots I would like for them.

No big upsell, no - oh they need this or that, just talked about the cats, any issues, and what care I wanted. Unfortunately my indoor / outdoor cat had fleas so I had to get flea treatment for both cats - an unexpected expense but my fault, not the vets! I really liked the office, the vet and her demeanor and the staff. We'll be back for our followup shots.

I am so very happy that I found this clinic and it was off of yelp reviews! I love them thus far, will continue to go to them for as long as I have my baby boy, chance! And will also spread the word on how they gave me a peace of mine! Thank you Dr. D AND STAFF!

The vets and staff at MVH are so caring and compassionate. As a first time pet owner I had lots of questions that I thought were probably stupid, but Dr. Smith and everyone on staff was helpful and answered every silly little thing and offered great little training tips too. As long as I'm in the Detroit area, I would mever consider choosing a different vet.

Very friendly staff and helped make my scared/nervous dogs more comfortable. Thorough examination and treatment. Would definitely recommend if you're new in town or thinking about changing vets.

We just brought our dog in here on short notice after closing on a Friday night and they were more than welcoming to stay open for us. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and didn’t make us feel like we were holding them up. Absolutely fantastic service. 10/10

We where in a bind with our 11yr old doberman experiencing traveling stress and old age. Dr. Mike and staff was the best! They made us feel apart of the family even though we were not locals. I trust in Yelp on reviews and was not disappointed! Thanks again for your honest and ethical care!

Dr. Mike is the best vet my pup and I have ever been too! My pup had a horrible experience at a vet when he was younger which had since made him scared and defensive when going to the vet. Dr. Mike takes special care with him and understands fully why my pup may be uneasy. Each visit I have had with Dr. Mike I have watched my pup become more and more comfortable.

It is amazing! He is also super honest and open about procedures, costs, vacs, etc. You definitely need to go here if you want the best for your animals! Thank you to the staff as well for being caring and always helpful!

Five stars for Dr. Smith and all of the kind and helpful staff there! I visited Maple Veterinary Hospital for the first time with my 9-year old cat Tora, and couldn't be happier. Since my cat is semi-feral, unsocialized and amazingly huge, it took me two weeks of unsuccessful attempts to get him into a pet carrier. But even though I repeatedly had to cancel my appointments due to my dilema, the staff completely kind and understanding about it. Previously, I've been to vets whose main focus was on pushing every type of vaccination, inoculation and medicine possible on my pets.(ugh). But here, it's immediately apparent that they truly care about helping you and your pet - in whatever way is most beneficial.

I cannot say enough good things about this office! I am so happy we found them 20+ years ago with my parents dog, so when we had adopted our dog from MHS we did not have a second thought in choosing Maple Vet to help with our dog's care. Dr Mike and the rest of the staff at Maple Vet are truly AMAZING! Several years ago our dog had horrible swelling of his eyes for no apparent reason.

We went to a specialist in Southfield that cost an arm and a leg to try to pin point the reason for the eye swelling. Of course it was on the weekend that we went to the specialist, but on Monday we followed up with Maple Vet. Immediately Dr Mike contacted the specialist to obtain the records from our visit so he was up to date for our next visit to the office and continued to work with the specialist and us to help find the problem of our dogs eye issues.

We never found out what has caused our dog going blind, however Dr Mike and his staff have gone above and beyond with us in dealing with our dogs eye issues. Dr Mike is very compassionate in the care he gives and works Amazingly with us from calling in RX to helping us find the best medicine to treat our dog. You can tell by every visit we have to the office that they TRULEY care for your pet and are there to walk with you every step of the way!
