If the answer is "yes" then it is time to bring your four legged friend to the vet for a complete dental exam and cleaning. Oral disease is one of the most common health problems for pets. Infection in the mouth not only causes dental disease and bad breath, but may also increase the risk for heart, liver, and/or kidney disease.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Dr. Allen is the worst! Talking with others who have had her feel the same way and have experienced the same when they took their pet to her. She won't listen to you at all in regards to your pet. She will belittle you, talk over you. She is very condescending. I think it's time she retires. Not to mention she scared my dog and when my dog backed up under my chair (which she has never done before) dr Allen said "she is just playing".
I know my dog and that's not what she does when she plays. She also told me the reason my dog gets distracted so easily is because she is scared of people. So why is it that my dog literally try's to go to the person she see's? My dog is extremely social and loves people, kids and other animals. She tries to be friends with the bunnies in our yard. Dr. Allen you should be ashamed of yourself. I ended up changing to PATT vet hospital and they are amazing!

IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION CHOSE THAT OVER THIS PLACE! Not only will Dr. Sherilyn Allen be incredible rude to you, not be able to follow what you are saying but if you bring a sick animal in she will eventually tell you "maybe you should think about having them adopted" She is one of the worst vets I have ever dealt with and today will be the last.
I would say this practice needs to hire other vets but I have seen so many come and go and its probably because that can not work with Dr. Allen. My only kind words is you should think about retirement. "no one will judge you if your retire" "maybe you are to overwhelmed and cant take care of your patients animals"

What a fantastic staff! They accommodated me when trying to get my grandbunny's nails trimmed. I couldn't get him in the carrier and therefore missed my appt time. When I finally succeeded, the zipper broke. They duct taped the carrier and even carried him out to the car. A+ service for accommodation, compassion and overall care for their patients and their families! Thank you Ironstone Veterinary Hospital staff!

We have taken our "pandemic puppy" here numerous times over the last year (he gets into trouble and we're probably also overly careful whenever he acts slightly abnormal). The staff is friendly, and have no problem taking the extra time to answer our millions of questions. We've had everything done here from neutering to laser treatment on a sore shoulder, to regular tick diagnoses and prescriptions. And if we ever can't get family to take our mini Dachshund while we're on vacation, it's nice to know we can leave him there.

Although I am thankful that Ironestone squeezed me in at least minute with my sick chicken, and that the office staff was incredibly kind, Dr. Allen was not personable. (She also keeps the exam room open where waiting patients can see and hear right into). We found a stray chicken two days prior which we decided to keep. Dr. Allen made me feel, due. to the chickens condition, like I knew nothing about chickens (which isn't true).
She also told me that he most likely he would not make it and that he was underweight and had neurological issues. She gave me antibiotics for him anyway. Three weeks later, we got a second opinion from a Vet elsewhere, who not only treats chickens, but owns them, too. She said that our roo was happy and healthy, aside from a common respiratory infection and worms.
She gave tips on chicken care and said he, by no means, was going to die. We also learned that he's not underweight, but a young chicken (3-4 months) not fully developed. I guess it's safe to say that experience goes a long way. Dr. Allen should not be treating chickens and misdiagnosing.

When a dog is brought in to be seen for a sore from rubbing their face on a carpeted floor, the first question asked should not be "so do you want me to put her down?" She has a small sore that the owners want. to have healed because they care about their animal. Who in their right mind would put a dog down for that reason? Very uncaring and unprofessional.

This review is from my parents. We have been taking our pets to ironstone for more than twenty years. Recently our Shih tzu needed surgery to remove stones from his bladder. Dr. Allen did a fantastic job. We are very grateful to Dr. Allen and her entire staff for their kind and professional care. Floyd and Velden Hangey

We drove 178 miles to Dr Allan based on her reputation and we will return.because in addition to expertise. Dr Allen and her amazing staff treated us with caring hearts and obvious commitment to the animals they serve. I was so anxious about leaving my beloved dog-they provided comprehensive education, were honest and reassuring. Most importantly, Mary Jane was at ease.the neo knows! Thanks to all the wonderful people who took care of us.
