I started coming here when I moved to the suburbs from Philly. Really kind doctors over all, and I had a positive experience until this week. I will not be coming back because a doctor here mistakenly injected my cat with a canine vaccine. This is unacceptable, and dangerous. The nurse explained they have a system to double check vaccines, and apparently either the doctor or her failed to check the vaccine before administering it.
The doctor said this has never happened before, and spent time calling the vaccine manufacturers. Since there is no research about long term effects of injecting felines with canine vaccines, we don't know what will happen. Needless to say, I was still charged for the mistake vaccine and asked to make another appointment to administer the correct dose. The appointment should have been compensated due to their grave error.

I was out of town and I recently needed to use another provider to euthanize my dog. It was not a good experience and that experience made me realize how incredibly compassionate, thoughtful and efficient the Animal Medical Center was in euthanizing my other dogs in the past. Let's face it, euthanizing a pet is never a happy experience for anyone and it's never as cheap as we'd like it to be, but when it's time to be done, this is the place you want to do it. They treated me and my animals kindly and respectfully. Thank you all.

Worst possible experience imaginable with a puppy. Took in my 13 week old puppy and ended up spending $505.00 which after calling other vets was much higher ($300) than same items/needs. All the puppy needed was his vaccinations which should NOT have included Rabies since he was only 13 weeks old. Presented his birthdate on a document and they wrote down that he was 3 weeks older plus a day so he could qualify for even MORE vaccines. Feel completely taken advantage of and will never go back. Wishing I had just stuck with our previous vet who was completely trustworthy, caring, and knowledgeable. Beware.

Dr. Perkins is awesome! He is very thorough and personable. Dr. Ruter is also awesome! She follows up and answers questions timely. The administrative team are very friendly, compassionate, and patient - never rude or short. They always are very pleasant to deal with. The entire team at Animal Medical Center not only take excellent care of my pets, they all are very consultative and educated on best treatments and approach for care.

I am writing this for my neighbor Jackie, whose cat Gizmo passed away on Dec 9th. "The front staff, Dr. Ritter and Dr. Perkins were absolutely perfect. They took Gizmo in even though he was not a patient, and did a biopsy on the spot so I would be sure what was happening and what I needed to do. Bravo to Jack Perkins and Dr. Ritter and the front staff who could not have been nicer." - Jackie Strizziere

My whole family takes all their pets here and they love it. So once me and my fiance got our dog we had to do the same and I'm beyond grateful for them. They truly care and understand concerns and are very informative of issues or changes needed for our little fur kids. I HIGHLY recommend this vet office

Took my new puppy to AMC for his first Vet visit and I was really pleased with the experience! The staff is beyond friendly (to the pet and pet owner!), very professional and helpful! They have a great way of teaming up to hold/distract the pup while the doctor examines, gives shots, takes temp, etc. Doctor Perkins and his staff were great! I couldn't believe it when we went to leave, my pup didn't want to go! He dug in his paws (tried to on the tile floor) and I had to cokes him to leave. Kind of says it all! Highly recommend!

Took my 12 week old puppy here for a check up / vaccinations. This is the second vet in the area I tried (I wasn't too fond of the first vet I went to) and this will be the last. These are the exact people I want treating my animals. The team is very caring and kind. The vet is super knowledgeable and goes through all treatment options before proceeding. I am thrilled to have such a great vet in the area. Highly highly recommend.

Customer service at this office is horrendous. My dog had a full annual exam a few weeks ago with a clean bill of health. When I stopped back a few short weeks later to have a form signed for American Airlines, the receptionist was extremely rude, made me wait for over 30 minutes while she checked with a vet technician, and then told me that I would need to bring my dog back in for another exam. This practice is clearly into money making trickery rather than patient care and customer service. We will not be returning to or recommending this practice.

The customer service at this animal hospital is absolutely awful. I bought my dog in for a first time visit. She has a terrible itch and her doctor prescribed her a medication. I bought the medication at the vet with the understanding that I can purchase it later on-line. Well guess what? Animal Medical Center doesn't fax prescriptions to any on-line service.
That includes Chewy. They don't trust on-line services, so you have to wait for the written prescription to come by mail or go over there and get it. My doctor, whom I am not entirely thrilled with, did not tell me this. I do not have a car and it takes me three buses to get over there. The poor dog has run out of medication. I begged them to help me.
They did not. I cannot believe that a Vet would choose to allow an animal to suffer than to fax over a script. These people are disgusting. A pharmacy was also disgusted by their inaction and called their receptionist "dumb". There is truth to the pharmacist opinion of the receptionist. Finally, my doctor, e-mailed me a script. But, Chewy doesn't take e-mailed scripts, neither does anyone else. Fortunately, Walmart has pet meds, if not, I would be taking three buses.
You may be asking why I took her so far? Her old doctor was there and at one time I appreciated her. Now, not so much. I will never again take my dog to this vet. I am offended by the way my dog was treated and her illness not taken seriously. I recognize their concerns about on-line pet pharmacies but Chewy is pretty legit and so is Walmart. Just an awful experience that I want no one who reads this to go through, ever.

I just started coming to this office with my 5 year old mixed breed this year. I followed Dr Olsen here from Gwynedd. They were decent when I brought her in for her yearly and vaccines but it's the emergency i brought her in for last night that I am beyond grateful for. They don't take emergency's but allowed me to bring my dog over right before closing.
She had a piece of bone stuck between her gums and tooth. Dr. Perkins was hands down AMAZING. He was so kind and informative. He and the tech were so patient even staying an hour past close for us. He first took the X-ray and wound up seeing the bone with a light in her mouth. After sedating her he was able to take the bone out. He came in the room and explained exactly where it was, showed it to me AND answered all my crazy dog mom questions.
The office called me today to check in on her and I couldn't be more pleased the way the whole situation was handled. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Perkins and of course my long time doctor, Dr. Olsen.

Dr Hartz runs a fantastic animal hospital! AMC was my first and only choice for my chihuahua, and we have continued going there for 6 years even after moving an hour away! Friendly staff, clean waiting room, patient rooms and OR, and recently the outside had a makeover making this a beautiful place inside and out. I never had one complaint in all the years my dog has been a patient.
He's had tooth extractions and cleanings and the advice for care I've been given is appropriate and well-explained. I've had to call at times for questions about my dogs vaccine history and treatments and I was met with a friendly and helpful staff member. There's no reason why you shouldn't go to this trusted veterinarian and animal hospital, in business for over 30 years! That says something!

When my cat was having a teeth cleaning they were very clear about what I should do and when. The doctor called me to tell me how the procedure went and they arranged a time for me to pick her up. When she wasn't quite ready to come home at that time they called me to let me know and made a later time. The post-procedure instructions were clear.

CYNTHIA HARTZ HAS A SOFT HIGH VOICE THAT MASKS INDIFFERENCE, IN MY OWN CASE. Called in emergency at 9:14, she wouldn't see the bird until 10:30. PALPABLE EGG AT VENT. 1 hour in waiting room, 40 minutes in an incubator, induced for 35 minutes, handed to my son, dying in a SYRINGE BOX! Died at 12:38pm. IF YOU TAKE A BIRD TO BE CARED FOR BY THIS ROBOT, it's on you. FYI, perfect egg laid as she died. Not soft, Not mishapen, and AT VENT! She's a monster who can't be bothered to touch a bird's bottom to save its life!

No one can prepare you for the sudden loss of a pet, but every single person that we came into contact with here was so kind and caring and got me and my kids through a very rough time. They were compassionate on the phone and were able to get us right into the office. Everyone at the desk took care of the paperwork and guided us through the process and allowed us to grieve in such a respectful way. I am so grateful for everyone here and sincerely thank them.

Amazing experience! I own a rabbit and needed to get her spayed. We looked at many places around the area, but unfortunately very few places take rabbits. Even fewer have staff trained in rabbit care. Thankfully, Dr. Hanley was very knowledgeable in proper rabbit care, and the surgeon there has experience operating on exotics. Even before we arrived, the friendly tone of the receptionist on the phone told us that it was a welcoming atmosphere.
Once we did arrive, I was shocked by how well organized and clean the facility was! They had a separate waiting area for cats and exotics to keep them from being frightened of the dogs. It's this kind of attention to each animal's needs that makes a vet office a good vet office. Additionally, during the check-up, the doctors were very honest and also very caring. They even prescribed a special pain medication to help with my rabbit's dental issue. I highly recommend this veterinary office!

This place is really good. I have been taking my dogs there for about 8 yrs. Staff is very friendly and are knowledgable. One of my dogs had a serious medical issue where I had to take her to an emergency clinic because it happened at 1am and they werent open but the next morning I called and got a follow up appt immediately the same day and they started the analysis immediately to determine the root cause of the emergency visit.
They managed everything, communication with the emergency clinic and now with the resolution including assistance from specialized doctors not in their practice. All I had to do is drop off my dog and they take care of the rest.

I brought my two dogs in as new patients. My Pug had a lump on her side near her back that has been there and we were told it was nothing to worry about, but, I wanted it looked at again. Dr. Hartz said it looked like a fat mass. She asked me if I wanted it tested and cost would be 80.00. I sad yes do it. She came back next day with a sketchy well. it looked like it had a few cells that were suspicious, she then went on to say "If it were my dog I would remove it.
That told me she was in it for the money. My Boxer was having issues with urinating and drinking excessively, I thought he had diabetes, so they did B/W and he had negative results for Diabetes but his Liver Enzymes were 1662! the normal is around 150. Instead of doing bloodwork to rule out what is the obvious cause the vet ordered B/W for Adrenal gland disease! Now, I asked them why are you doing a test for that instead of the test where the numbers are so elevated? Tech said that is hat Dr. ordered.
Here is what I found out. I was angry because they are prolonging my babies test in order to bilk me out of money, why? because their office doesn't have an ultrasound machine and so Dr. figured let's get some money out of her first. Dr. calls me with results and says Buster is giving us a run here, his adrenal gland test came back negative!
I again was upset and I asked to speak to the office manager. I told her I was upset that Dr. new Liver enzymes were extremely high, and that should have been the first test run after B/W came back. She said I will have to speak to the Dr. and find out why he ordered the adrenal test first and not the Liver ultrasound. I then asked who owns this practice and she answered "Dr. Hartz" Well Dr. or office never returned my phone calls.
This is because they knew they had been caught. People DO NOT bring your loving pets here because their best interest is not what this practice puts first. Their first concern is the Dollar and this behavior proves it. If a Vet truly cared about animals they would have said his liver enzymes are extremely high I want to do an ultrasound of his liver first! but no, he ordered and adrenal gland disease test first.
This is either incompetence at it's best or total lack of concern for the pet. I took both my fur babies and went to Creature Comforts. They took one look at the results and ordered the ultrasound! Just like people we want the best care for our babies, this place is not it. Money comes first with them. BEWARE!

The best. I take my cats here and they have a separate and caring. There is a dedicated area in the waiting room for them and an exam room for cats only. They are excellent with stressed cats and all the doctors there are kind and compassionate. When my older cats passed the staff was so caring. There is a separate room for that and you can leave via a back entrance and not have to go through the waiting room to exit which I appreciated so much. Touches like that are what makes this place so great. Highly recommended!

I've used AMC for almost 9 years. Dr Brian is awesome. He has saved my dogs life from a nasty attack wound and from cancer. Very intelligent and AMC is very fortunate to have him on staff. Dr Brian returns calls/ messages quickly - even when your out of the country and your dog is injured at a kennel he is able to keep you calm knowing she is under his care.
He is the best! He is also an educator: you learn from him when he treats / examines your pet and explains the pet psychology and sociology behind their behaviors. I've sent friends to this practice because of Dr Brian.

I am so grateful to Dr. Brian Novak and the team here for taking us in last minute. We had taken our conure parrot to another vet to have his wings clipped. Instead of clipping them the proper way (1st 10 primary feathers) they clipped ALL of his wings and left the first 2. Bird can still fly but he can't land in a controlled manner plus he flies wobbly.
When you look at the bird, it just doesn't look like what a bird's wings should look like. Enough of the butcher job by the other vet. We called Animal Medical Center since they were recommended by the Association of Avian Vets in a panicked state. We weren't sure if Ripley would be ok. We were told to bring him in and they would take a look at him. Dr. Brian cheered me up and made me laugh even though I was in tears with concern for our feathered baby.
He reassured us that Ripley would be ok, although he wouldn't clip him this way. He said that since the way they were clipped, the ends might poke at his body and cause him to pick at his feathers, if that were the case they would give him anti-inflammatory to help. They didn't charge us for the check-up! They definitely have our business because of their caring in our time of need! Thanks Dr. Brian for being awesome!

Most dogs are afraid of going to the vet.but not here! Our dog loves going to the vet. The vets and staff here are kind, gentle, caring and personable. We have taken our dog here since we rescued him and he gets excited each time. We have worked with Dr. Brian Novak and Dr. Bridget Hanley and they are simply the best at what they do! These veterinarians really take the time to check on your pet and treat your pet like royalty.
They always ask if we have questions and they never pressure you to take the extra tests. We did in fact spring for the recommended tests and they are quite expensive but I think they are fair prices and what other places would offer. One of the nurse's, Ashlie, is awesome too. She takes Rusty's weight and gives us general information before we see the vet- always friendly and helpful! If you're looking for a place to take your pet, I would highly recommend this place. You can trust them with your pet and know they care for your family!
