This hospital is built on the location of the first veterinary clinic in Orlando, which was established in 1937. The practice, originally opened by Dr. W.M. Lynn in 1926 out of his home, was continued by his nephew Dr. D. Lynn at its present location. Initially, Dr. Lynn serviced both small and large animals, with horses and cows being brought up to his door!

This is achieved with state-of-the-art veterinary and surgical services that provide the best possible care for your pet. We recommend bringing your pet in for a wellness check-up once a year.
We currently have 3 Veterinarians, 9 Veterinary Technicians, 3 Veterinary Assistants, 3 Client Care Coordinators, and 2 Lodging Coordinators! Surgeries are performed daily, as well as routine annual vaccinations, puppy & kitten vaccinations, and sick patient examinations. Our goal is to provide pets and clients with exceptional care in all aspects, including Client Service, Medicine, Surgical Procedures, and Daytime Emergency Care. We also strive to incorporate low stress handling techniques for all pets, and to create a calming, comfortable environment.
We believe the best way to promote overall health is through preventative care. Regular checkups allow us to establish a baseline in your pet's health and make us aware of any changes that may indicate future problems. We highly recommend bringing them to our hospital for regular exams. Often times health problems that go undetected can become more serious issues when left untreated, so veterinary checkups are important even when your pet appears healthy.Just as annual physical exams are recommended for humans, they are recommended for our pets as well.

I recently had to put my cat down due to medical complications that resulted in her being in a lot of pain. Downtown Pet Hospital's staff was very supportive towards me in this process. Having to go through this is an emotionally challenging experience, especially for having a close bond with your pet. The staff expressed gentleness, sympathy, and comfort during this time.
At one moment, one of the staff members even cried and expressed that she developed a bond with my cat as well. While I hope to never have to experience this again, I will always remember how helpful and nurturing this place was towards my cat and I.

DPH provides excellent care for my dogs. Technicians and doctors are available to respond to all channels of communication. I appreciate their follow up calls. Their quality of care is evidenced by my dogs excitement to go to DPH. A few Christmases ago they took this photo and sent to me. I used it as my Christmas card! We all love DPH.

My girls (dogs) had their first visit with Downtown Pet Hospital this morning. It was truly unlike any other vet experience I've had. Things were timely, the staff was friendly, and Dr. Minton was phenomenal. Our technician, Emily, was amazing at keeping my anxious dog focused on small treats and not on being poked and prodded. It was a very low stress visit for them and for me! The cost for the visit and services was fair and lower than what I have paid elsewhere in the area. I'd give them six stars if I could!

I have nothing but good things to say about downtown pet hospital. They really care about the comfort and safety of your pet. I usually just go in for check-ups but when I needed a last minute appointment for an unexpected injury they were so accommodating and helpful. The whole staff is extremely friendly and I'm so happy I found this vet office.

The entire staff show such compassion. I sadly had my first encounter with them when my baby boy passed. they not only took care of me but took good care of him and contacted me when his ashes came back. sent me the most beautiful card with his paw print and nose print, that means the world to me. To the entire staff. I can never thank you ALl enough for all you've done for me.
I will be looking to bring my baby girl to your clinic. Other clinics should consider using this location to train new staff on how to treat not just the us but our furry kids!
