The last 7 years have been great. After covid, it takes forever to get in and in an emergency they recommend the ER in Frisco which has been awesome since we lost two dogs in less than a year. However, they take forever to get into and recently quoted me $710.00 to spay my baby girl. I called 5 other vets and got an average of $240, and I'm not talking about discount places.

I can't imagine they are that strapped for customers to charge that amount, although the vet turnover here has been high. I also compared services during the operation and it still seem excessive and unreasonable. Please do your research.

I have brought my dog for four years now. Have always been great and fairly priced. I was recently in to bring my dog for blood work. Everyone I came across was extremely friendly and kind. Kate at the front desk was so happy and helpful. Thank you for taking good care of Chloe!

I brought my cat Bella in for a skin condition.she scratched so much it was bleeding. The staff are all great, and Dr. Hall? Was very personable and explained everything to me very well. Bella was treated and I was asked to send a pix of her wound in one week and we booked a follow up two weeks out. I am very happy coming here, they always take great care of my cats.

Don't go there. Charged $430 for routine shots for our dog. Nothing fancy just routine check up. My husband was a fool and instead of cancelling appointment he paid. Same shots costs us $99 in Bonham for our ranch dog. If it would have been me I would have left with our dog. We paid $272 to have 20 cows checks by our vet who makes house calls at the ranch! Ridiculous.

When my husband asked why had the price tripled since the last time we were there with our dog the receptionist said "we're keeping up with inflation." Bye! If it had been me I would have left with our dog but my husband thinks he is Mr. money bags and left our dog but you ain't getting our money anymore.

This was my first visit to Animal Hospital of Melissa and it was very pleasant. The facility is very clean and the people at the front desk are welcoming and kind. The vet was thorough in her exam of my baby and was clear in her explanation of issues and of the recommended treatment. I also felt the cost of service was very reasonable. I was very pleased.

Very impressed with the vet and techs I met while bringing my 3 cats in for their annuals. Staff was clearly well educated about cats (which is not always the case at other vets we've tried), and obviously animal lovers. Doctor was wonderful and answered all of our questions. We moved to the area a little over a year ago, and finally found the perfect vet for our boys.

I truly cannot speak highly enough of this clinic. I went through a horrible ordeal (days of hospitalization and a diagnosed foreign body) with my girl Harley and they took the best care of her. They were honest & transparent with me, which helped me tremendously in my decision making. Big thanks to all the techs involved in her care (Caylee is one name I remember- she was so kind), all the doctors involved (Dr. Smith, Dr. Day, and another doctor who's name I cannot remember), and all of the receptionists who were so unbelievably kind and supportive during this. I only recently started using this vet but I won't go anywhere else now.

I have been blown away with the level of service I get with every single appointment I have had. The front desk ladies are always prompt and professional. I was sad to see Dr Unruh leave but Dr Day is amazing and caring. She and the staff make me feel like my fur babies are in the best hands. I never have a wait here. like other vets I've been to in the past. They find availability in emergency cases. I can go on and on about how great they are, but I encourage you to see for yourself.

We just moved here from Florida. Everything about the experience was great! The staff were friendly and patient-and we have four cats-one of whom is "complicated." The vet was outstanding and thorough. I was pressed for time at the end of the visit (called into a meeting), and the desk staff walked out to the car with the meds and bill so I could make it to the virtual meeting/call. Gosh, that was really nice! The vet called the next day to report on our cat's lab work and plans, So professional, so great! Our other three cats will be coming here as well! Just fantastic!

They always take very good care of my sparkle I haven't had a pet since my childhood they are affordable and always recommend good advice for home care their gentle kind and active with the pets as they come in I haven't been going there very long but I feel in love the first day thank you Animal Hospital Of Melissa

Our vet was so great and patient with our new furbabies. We really appreciate the time that was spent answering all of our questions and never made us feel rushed.

Five stars are not enough! I would give Animal Hospital of Melissa every star in the sky. Dr. Day is amazing and a true gem. She has cared for our kitties since they were 8 weeks old. We are so blessed to know Dr. Day. The front office and vet techs are top notch and care about every pet parent and fur baby that come through the door. Thank you AHM for taking care of our babies for all these years!

We have been taking all of our pets to Animal Hospital of Melissa for 10 years, and have always had the best experiences. The staff in amazing, and have always treated us like family. Worth the drive from Prosper to get continued excellent care for our fur babies.

Awesome experience from the moment I called them for an appointment to the time I left! I called short notice for an appointment and they were able to get me in by the end of day. When I arrived they had signs that instructed to call or text when arrived. They texted back immediately and had a room available within 5 minutes of my arrival, exactly aligned with my appointment time!

The vet came in quickly and both her and the tech were very personable! Most importantly, they told me all of my options and got my fur baby taken care of. I will visit them again for sure! Thank you, Animal Hospital of Melissa!

The staff is wonderful and very caring towards our Yorkshire Terrier Teddy anytime we need to bring him or call with questions.

Everyone there is super nice, & very patient, as I always have a million questions about my furbabies, & they're very informative about whatever procedure or exam my babies are going having that day. I highly recommend this animal hospital to all who have pets!

Everyone was extremely friendly and explained things throughly. The fit me in, even as a new patient and the Dr. called me personally with test results. I had to buy RX food for my dog, and after comparing prices, they were $5 less than every where else, so I really appreciate them not doing a big mark up. I'll be back.

Not impressed with the customer service. Jenny, front desk, cut me off while I was talking and was extremely rude. I ended up opting out of scheduling an appointment. I used to bring my cat here and they were nice. But that was a year ago. Going downhill.

We absolutely love Animal Hospital of Melissa! We pull in the parking lot and my girls get so excited and can't get in the door fast enough. They have received the best care from the entire staff for the last 2 1/2 years. We are so grateful for every single staff member. They are all awesome. I can't recommend them enough!

We LOVE our puppy's new haircut! So adorable. The groomer did a great job. Did exactly what we requested and more. Very pleased.

We would normally give five stars however this time when my wife picked our pups up she had a less than pleasing experience. We love this Vet and the staff but this last experience was far from what we are used to.

Just had my first visit with my cat Teddy. What a great place! Everyone was so friendly and most importantly they were wonderful and loving with my cat! Every person I came in contact with was friendly! Even the ladies working the front desk! Doctor Smith was amazing and super informative. We will definitely be back.

Dr. Day is amazing! Our maltipoo had bladder stones removed recently. We were crazy worried as he is 10 years old. She kept us informed of his progress after surgery and met with us later in the day to. review X-rays and show us what had been removed. She was engaged and extremely knowledgeable and has a genuine care for her little patients and their well being! The staff involved in the office are top notch as well! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone!

Called on a Friday morning because my cat was exhibiting urinary issues. I was advised that they were completely booked but they'd still squeeze me in that afternoon. They did say I'd have a wait, but she'd be seen. I waited for 15 min after arriving when they took her back. So happy with Dr Unruh giving my pets such care.

Dr. Day is by far the best vet we have ever used. She is like family to our dogs and us. We really value her opinion and her recommendations.

First week of April I notice a lump on my dog's head. Asked to have it removed and first available appointment was a week later. The growth had doubled. Came in and paid for an unsuccessful biopsy. They told me to have it surgically removed "asap" which was May 18 - another 5 weeks out. One week later I called them again asking if it could be moved up because the growth had doubled in size again. Told no.

One week later called again asking to have move up because it had again doubled, was now cracked and bleeding. Again, told no. In desperation called my old vet and drove an hour to get her surgery. Two weeks later her stitches are now healed, but the biopsy has come back as a malignant tumor. Still not the 18th of May. If your pet is urgently ill, go somewhere else. AHM may do dental and nails, but lack of urgency and empathy on their part was catastrophic on my end. Will never go back there.

Have taken my cats to the Animal Hospital of Melissa for a year and a half now, including over a year of Covid logistics challenges. They have been in for exams, dentals, boarding, and monthly nail clips. The Office, Tech, Grooming, Boarding, and Veterinary Staff here are terrific. They are professional, caring, gentle, and efficient. One of my cats is extremely timid and he seems fine when he comes home. Thank you all!

I have given them chance after chance.but today was the absolute last straw. I waited 15 mins just for someone to answer the phone.15 past my appt time.and was charged $26.79 for a nail trim ONLY. The last several appts.which were for nail trims only. I have ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS had to wait 20-30 mins past my appt time.and only paid $18 for a nail trim (which is higher than anyone else but convenient).$26.79 for nail trim is highway robbery and them some. It makes me sad, but I'll be going elsewhere.convenient or not

Dr. Unruh is the best! Loving knowing my pup is in such good hands! Highly recommend.

Super sweet and were good to the dogs knew a lot about the animals and were very gentle with them too. All and all it was a good place

I have reached out several times to this hospital since my dog came back from his visit. I was left a voicemail stating the office manager was on her way out and will call me Monday. 3 Monday's go by and I received 1 other voicemail on a Tuesday night at 7:15 with the same message."on my way out and will call on Monday". We had our dog go in for an annual check up and grooming.

We arranged everything through the office. Our dog comes home with a "summer cut" not teddy bear cut and a clean bill of health. Vet says everything is great, no concerns at all. Weight is spot on. Our dog is shaking his head which happens after grooming, but this time it's nonstop. Shaking all night long making us dizzy. Shook his head throughout the night and his ears were wet in the a.m. and he was crying/whimpering/ears are tender. Treated him with swimmers ear for dogs. He's much better in a few hours. Stops crying and whimpering and I call to see if I need to make an appointment to check out his ears.

They say they need to see him. So he goes in and comes back with a triple ear infection. Virus, yeast, bacteria. He is prescribed steroids, antibiotics, ear cleaning solution, which we already have. Another big fat vet visit $$$ which we just had 2 days ago stating perfect health. Let me just say it took me no time to call the office after the 2nd return from the vet office.

No calls back, so I called Monday when office manager was suppose to return. 1 call came to my voicemail on Tue at 7:15 telling me she'll call back on another Monday. We will not be returning to this clinic no matter what. They got their $$ for 2 office visits, one in which they caused my dog to get sick and they won't return my calls. Update. Haven't heard back. Results now of the head shaking.my dog has bleeding ears (hematoma from trauma of head shaking).They took a perfectly healthy 3 year old dog and made him sick and take no responsibility.

Made an appointment, went over treatment, cost and steps. Was called at 4:00pm to come pick up our dog. 90 minutes later and 300.00 more then discussed and no answers. They act like they did us a favor. No diagnosis of why our dog had bloody stools, why she was dehydrated, no logic behind her fever or why she was vomiting. I guess the blood work, examine and xrays were not enough to rule anything in or out.

The vet explained nothing and had no explanation. Her words, if she continues to be sick we have a bigger problem. So if the blood work, examine and X-rays didn't lead you down a diagnosis pathway then what will they do if she continues to get get. They were very concerned about getting paid though. I would not recommend Jill Langston. I am not sure where she got her education a dtraining but someone failed her or she is failing that institution. Three weeks later and not one person has followed up. Terrible veterinary veterinary practice.

Have been taking 6 dogs there for all checkups, vaccinations, etc for years. Have spent thousands of dollars here. The vet that owned the place originally, Dr. Pazora, is no longer there. When I tried to get in to see them for our very sick dog, they could not see her for a week. Turns out she has a fast moving cancer, and time was an important factor. Ended up getting her into another vet, who ordered the tests to confirm the cancer, and got us to a specialist within a week so she could begin chemo treatment and have a chance! Since Dr. Pazora left, the place is just not the same - and if they are treating their established patients like this, it makes me wonder how they would treat a new one.

Poor follow up regarding our family pet who lost vision in her eye. We called to speak to the vet regarding some concerns and 24 hours later heard nothing. Called them again and said the vet was going to call us after the weekend. More than 3 days after we called the office initially. Maybe they are just too busy at this practice to deal with follow up. And we needed it as we are dealing with the sudden blindness in one of our dogs eyes, which is stressful enough.

Everyone was very nice. The doctor was awesome. They did not try to get me to buy more then what I needed. Very clean. Doctor gave me advice and what to look out for when I go out of town.

I love this place, Dr. Day and her team are the absolute best! I've been taking my 6 year old golden since he was a pup and now his 1 year old sister too. Dr. Day is so gentle with them and are able to keep them calm through all the tests and shots and is very reassuring when they need to be soothed. I live in the Colony and will gladly make the drive out to Melissa for this animal hospital. Kudos to Dr. Day, Dr. Pazora, and the Animal Hospital of Melissa team!

Great, local, fairly priced place to get top notch animal care. So my favorite story to share- my fur baby was getting particularly sick- rather than stringing me along with tests or trial and error medicine, I was referred to a clinic that had better ability to test and analyze my pets problems. It's telling when a place knows their limits and refers you elsewhere for the best care. I certainly appreciated it!

I love this place, they take care of their family and that's the way I feel when I'm there. I'm so thankful for the letter they just sent me, putting my little guy down was hard and they made it easy and then this letter shows that they care, it's hand signed which means even more

HUGE fans! Great kind service for our pup! Haven't had to wait at all! Kind staff, efficient care and willingness to listen to concerns. Price wise, can't beat it!

This is a really great place to take your fur babies. We see Dr. Day, she is very nice and very thorough. She takes the time needed to explain things and answers any questions you have. My cat and my dog both see her. I am also nursing a kitty that was hit by a car back to health and she has proven to know her stuff when it comes to him as well! I would highly recommend this animal hospital.

We had a wonderful first experience at the Animal Hospital of Melissa. They were very friendly and patient with our pup. They were thorough and explained everything to us. They were not condescending. We will definitely keep them as a vet.
