I would not trust my fur babies with anyone else. Dr. Murphy and his assistants and office staff are just the best. Service is always quick and efficient and we couldn't be happier. We've been coming here for many years with many pets of various species and never had a less than wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place!

Friendly staff and excellent care for my senior dog. Vet listens and helps me care for my dog on a budget. My dog is on lifetime prescription food and they offer the best price. Saturday hours are a big help too. I've heard good things about them from my friends, and I'm glad I started taking my dog here.

Exceptional Animal Hospital. I have been taking my sweet Bella Blu to see Dr. Thornburg now for about 3 years now. Dr. Thornburg is such a wonderful person and awesome Veterinarian. She is so caring and genuinely cares about Bella and her health. The staff is also amazing. Very courteous and always pleasant to speak with on the phone. Ms. Dani is Dr. Thornburg's assistant and she is also very caring and professional.
The Clinic is nice, well kept and very clean. There's always plenty of parking and areas for the pups to relieve themselves. Bella and I are very grateful to Dr. Thornburg and staff at Bayside Animal Hospital. Thank you for all you do!

Great staff and vets. My pup has seen most of the vets here. Dr Shepherd was my vet for my previous Airedale many years ago. They all take plenty of time and listen to my concerns. They are very helpful with my leash reactive pup to get me in and out when the lobby is empty. Highly recommend these guys.

I took both of my labs to this vet for about two years and they are friendly and nice but after taking my lab in multiple times for ear issues It was always, they needed to pack his ears, this is bacterial, same medicine over and over and nothing was working. They would talk to me about him swimming or allergies etc. I finally broke down and took my dog to another vet and explained to them what was going on over the past couple years.
They Tested his ears and it was yeast and they gave me an oral pill, drops and an ear wash. With in two weeks my dogs ears were finally clear. It's been 6 months and his ears are still clear. We did switch his food and wash his ears once a week for Maintenece. I spent thousands of dollars at this vet with no change and when I asked for something different they told me he may need to see a specialist. Would not recommend!

I have a rescue Boxer Bruno that I have been taking to Bayside for 8 years. I love Dr. Murphy, his nurse Heather and Joy at the front desk. Whenever Bruno is sick and we go there Bruno absolutely loves Heather and Dr. Murphy. Joy always orders my dog food and accommodates me and answers my questions. I wouldn't take Bruno anywhere else. They always talk to me about the cost and discuss any additional charges or treatments with me to make sure I consent and give me all my options. They are compassionate and kind and have empathy. I wouldn't take Bruno anywhere else and am very grateful for Dr. Murphy and his staff.

They truly care about their clients (four legged & two legged)! The front staff is so friendly.especially Joy and Jessica! The techs have all been very helpful as well! Dr. Wardall is amazing with my cats and Dr. Given was super friendly when he helped perform an exploratory surgery on my cat. I would recommend Bayside to anyone looking for a clinic that truly cares!

This place is full of love! Happy people everywhere and confident, caring, and intelligent staff! Can't say one bad thing about the place.and I am a pretty critical person who tries to find things that could improve on.nut for Bayside, nope, nothing bad or in need of improvement here! All my babies are very relaxed here when they visit!

Joy is not such a joy.not in person according to my 19 year old or on the phone with me. First impressions go a long way. And this one will stick for sure. Unfortunately, the kindness or the nurse and dr Murphy doesn't go a long way when you have someone as unpleasant as this person. I really hope I get a call from this telling me They are taking care of this. And if so, I might reconsider coming back You can look up our visit and find out who we are. 7/15/21 0930am Dog visit

I previously left a bad review out of frustration with the situation with my dog. Dr. Hart has gone out of his way to help us and I deleted my review. I never leave reviews and now understand the negative impact or impression they can have. Please think things thru before you review. My sincerest apologies.

I had a terrible experience here. My dog was hit by a slow moving car, right in front of me. After letting me know the first of many treatments would cost $1910.00, I had to make a few phone calls. (They would not take half up front. No payment plan) As I was trying to come up with it all, they came in the room 6 times in 45 minutes. The vet told me that they needed the room for other patients after telling me that I should put my 8 month old dog down.
I took my dog and left.(after making them give her a pain and antibiotic shot) I got another opinion. She had a clean break/ broken leg. and road rash. Let's just say that two months later. for less than $300.00 my dog can out run me.

The first time I ever came I had an emergency and they took care of me right away but my baby didn’t make it. They didn’t charge me for the care. Ever since then I have been taking my animals here! Great great great vets! I love them, the prices are great! But then again I would pay a million to keep my animals alive. Treat them like family! You can trust them to take care of your pets with the care they deserve.

Dr. Murphy has been taking care of my puppers for about 2 years now and I love how he gives them such personal attention. When he’s in the room with us, he’s 100% there—not trying to rush off to his next appointment. The staff at Bayside Animal Hospital are always so friendly and welcoming, both to my fur babies and my human one. It feels like a family there.

I found this animal hospital through yelp after frantically trying to get my oldest pup, 10 yr old Pug, help after going from normal to deathly ill in a matter of 30 mins. With not knowing the area I just went with the closest location to get her to in hopes of saving her life. Unfortunately, I nor the Doctor could attempt to save her and I didn't want my baby suffering even though I would and do miss her so so much.
I want to thank the Doctor, even though I don't remember his name, and his staff for being understanding, compassionate, and ever so friendly to me and laying my baby to rest comfortably. I am completely grateful and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the financial help with my bill with no questions or judgment. I would recommend this Animal Hospital to any future animal parents that want their loved pet to be taken care of in any circumstance. Thank you again to all who had a part in laying my baby to rest.

Everyone that works here are very nice to you and your pet. Tammy at the front desk is always super friendly. They will fit you in for an emergency situation if needed.. you may not see your Dr. in that instance, which ours is Dr. Givens who is the best and saved my girl when she developed Pyometra, but all the Dr.'s there are really great along with the nurses who really care about your animals.

I am a dog trainer and had my first experience with a clients dogs and it was a great experience, however upon my second return my experience was less memorable, I decided to give them another chance when I got my own dog and my experience was horrible. Joy Isreal at the front desk was rude to me the last 3 times I had to encounter her, she is extremely condescending and barks at people when you say or do the wrong thing in her eyes, they are overpriced and unprofessional.
I was treated like I didn't matter and felt like I was just a number and all they cared about was getting my money. They called my dog a she when I clearly stated on my paperwork and during the phone call to schedule his appointment that it is a male, then when I corrected them their response was well he had on pink so I assumed.well you are the professional here and should read your paperwork before getting my dog, further more he is wearing purple not pink.
I brought my puppy in for diarrhea and had him scheduled for his 3rd round of vaccinations, because of these very negative experiences I chose to look for another Vet and canceled my appointment. I will never recommend Bayside Animal Hospital to anyone and I think the practice management needs to access the help they have and expect nothing less than respect from their employees to their clients, we are what keeps your doors open and it's ashamed that you allow people to feel so discounted and un important. Very poor service and unprofessional.

We had to put down our dog after 17 wonderful years. To say it was a terrible experience is an understatement but the people at Bayside Animal Hospital were compassionate in an awesome way and I have never felt more obligated to share my experience and have also never written a more deserving review. I remember our last dog who we also put down about 20 years ago.
The Vet we used then had been with her since she was born & had seen her frequently bc of health issues. It cost several hundred dollars to give her the shot which they wanted up front before we went into the room. Bayside was a completely different experience. The put us in a room straight away despite being very busy and us over an hour early. We were given all the time we wanted & when we were ready one of the assistants kindly asked if she "could have the honor of taking our baby".
It was sincere and sweet & comforting to had him off into loving arms. When we went to check out I was stunned to learn that there was "no charge for anything". Having only been in TX 3 years they had only seen Bailey 3-4 times for normal checkups yet they treated us as if they'd been taking care of him forever. Their kindness doesn't end there.
We got a call this week saying they had a gift for us. When we stopped to pick it up they had made a clay mold of his little paws as a keepsake for us. Furthermore they had made a donation in his honor to the Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation. While our hearts are broken, it was such a blessing to be reminded that there really are still good people out there. Thank you Dr. Shepherd & all the staff at Bayside Animal Hospital. You guys are the best and we sincerely thank you.

We have seen all three doctors and each one has excellent bed-side manner. The front desk ladies are so kind and hospitable. Tami is a gem! Dr. Givens has been phenomenal the past two visits. He and Kim (PA?) thoroughly explained diagnosis and treatment plan and kindly took my call for an update on my little boy after being admitted. This is our Vet for life. Love Dr. Given!

DOG IS DEAD DUE TO THEIR LACK OF EXPERIENCE! Words cant even explain the hate i have for this place. I had a healthy 8 year old Beagle (Ollie) who i personally diagnosed with Cushings disease after reading endless articles/forums about year ago due to his large belly and high water consumtion. I took him to 4 different vets over the year and none of them could give me answers nor would treat him for what i KNEW was Cushings disease.
I decided to try Bayside Animal Clinic after Ollie became slightly sick (June 1, 2016) as he would not eat his food (all beagles love food) nor did he have much energy. Dr. Givens saw Ollie multiple times and agreed that Ollie had Cushing disease but didn't believe it was the cause of his symptoms as he believed it was digestive issues. I told the Dr. this is not normal and expressed my concerns but he assured me with special food (soft) and medication we would see positive results.
After another week of watching Ollie suffer we returned to Bayside for the 3rd time and hundreds of dollars later. Again Dr. Givens ASSURED everything was fine and give it time. While out of town in NYC for work i was receiving multiple calls from my girlfriend and family very concerned about Ollie. Again Ollie returned and same SH**, they tell my GF he is going through digestive issues and it just needs to pass through. June 12, 2016 the day after i returned from my trip I woke up to Ollie vomiting/diarrhea with such little energy he could barley walk.
I panic and start rushing to the only Animal ER open on Sundays (Citi Animal Hospital in Friendswood). Unfortunately my baby Ollie took his last breath in my arms out front of the hospital :( :( :(. Citi Animal Hospital took one look at the paper work over the past year and they were SHOCKED that Ollie had not been treated for Cushings much earlier. Having said all this I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SINGLE PHONE CALL FROM BAYSIDE TO CHECK ON OLLIES CONDITION! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE MY WORD ON THIS AND STAY AWAY!

Just the best. When travelling, it's just uncertain what kind of services you'll get, and the thought never crosses your mind that what you will encounter.is better than what you have experienced at home in Durango, CO. Vinnie our geriatric cat really got sick, and the time and attention Dr. Given spent in three succeeding trips (only charged for one) was the key in saving our family friend. It's obvious he has a passion, and compassion for both patient and human. The entire Clinic was staffed by great folks. I hope you locals know how lucky you are!

This is a very long story, I will make it brief. We went on a cruise and boarded my dog. While we were gone she became ill so they transferred her over to the Clinic. We had authorized a certain amount of money and we had bought insurance on the dog. When we returned the bill was well over $1,000 more than we had authorized. At first the clinic would not work with us at all.
They finally gave a small allowance towards dog food etc. I asked them if I went ahead and paid this would my wife be able to continue using the clinic as me and the clinic had been arguing with each other over this bill. I wanted to make sure all will be ok in the future with my wife the clinic and my dogs as they are very close to us. The answer from the clinic was yes, as long as the balance is paid in full there would be no problem she would be welcome.
A couple of months later we take our dog in there and we are turned away saying they will not see us because of the situation. So to make a long story short, they lied to me to get my thousand dollars, it didn't matter to them what they promised. They do not care at all! I own two other companies in the League City area, if I ran my business this way I would be out of business.
I recommend everybody to be aware of this clinic, I do not trust them, they overcharge you, they are not honest. They will flat out lie to you just so you will write them a check. For the record the boarding facility was fantastic behind the clinic, no issues with them at all. I would use them again.

Dr, Sheppard and staff are absolutely the best! They have helped us through some of the most difficult times with our first set of Golden Retrievers both that passed away from cancer, Dr. Sheppard would call weekly to check on them, available to us after hours etc. We get the best care for our current Golden's and would not consider another vet.
They are interested in what is best for your furbaby, they don't try and sell you on treatments, procedures and stuff you don't need like some of the veterinarian chains do. They truly care and love what they do and it shows. Thanks Bayside for caring for our kiddos as if they were yours!

We were traveling through Kemah, TX with our Tuxedo cat who is terminally ill with feline melanoma. She has been treated with chemotherapy at home in Asheville, NC but can no longer tolerate the drugs. It is just a matter of time for her. Before traveling on, we wanted a vet to check her status. We were able to see Dr. Given quickly. The staff was friendly and professional, and Dr.
Given understood the kitty's situation immediately. He gave excellent advice, and medication which would ease her journey through the next couple of weeks. I would highly recommend this practice in general and Dr. Given in particular. The fees we paid for a good chunk of his time and the medication is significantly less than we were used to paying in NC and SC. You folks here are lucky to have this practice here.

Very rude staff, very inexperienced doctor, not a good feeling about diagnosis or ability to diagnose anything more than worms, fleas and simple things. My experience is all they care about is money money money not the well being or safety of any pet that's for sure. We've heard others in our area say that they had bad experiences here too including their rude inconsiderate staff members that have been overheard talking about other customers and their pets out in public and at the clinic in front of other customers.
Bad, bad, bad. Use someone else, I would not go here or take any pets here at all.
