I'm so grateful for everyone at this vet clinic and especially Emily, their Client Experience Manager. She takes all the stress out of planning check-ups, pet travel, and everything related to our dog. It's amazing to find a clinic that's so open to questions, compassionate to our worries, and transparent on pricing. If only my human doctor were as good as them!

Malibu Coast has the best vets in LA. We moved to Studio City from the west side.and we STILL go to Malibu Coast and its sister location Palisades Animal Clinic, because they are the absolute best: caring, excellent at what they do, efficient, and reasonably priced. Their front desk staff is courteous and knowledgeable and implemented very efficient pandemic protocols.
The vet techs are all friendly and fast when you need walk in services. And the boarding facility is run by a professional dog trainer that we actually hired to train our wayward rescue frenchie. She's wonderful. As for the vets, the two owners - Dr Dana (the primary vet for our two frenchies) and Dr Dean (who did a mast cell tumor/dew claw removal on one so perfectly you can barely tell it happened) are two of my favorites, but ALL of the vets there are top notch (and have different personalities and styles, so you will find your favorite, too.
They are ALL excellent.). Dr Julia is also lovely and took us as a fit-in today when our frenchie Zoe ate a popsicle stick (dog ownership is sure never boring). I called other vets closer to our house because I was worried it was an emergency, and these other vets were telling us we needed to call poison control ($75 for a case number) and that inducing vomiting was too dangerous (turns out it wasn't) and our pup needed to be taken to an emergency veterinary center (6 hour wait) with an internist that could remove the stick via endoscopy (VERY expensive).
I called MCAH and told them the situation, and Dr. Julia said no, just give Zoe some wet food to coat the popsicle stick pieces and bring her in to MCAH to have vomit induced. And sure enough, Zoe was seen an hour later (the hour it took me to drive there.they would have been able to see us even sooner), and done in 15 minutes. On a Saturday. Popsicle stick remnants are all back on the outside where they belong, and now Zoe is snoring happily in her dog bed.
And that's why I'm finally writing a review. The experience today made me SO grateful that Malibu Coast Animal Hospital cares for our dogs, it was finally time to write this long overdue review. Can't think of a business that deserves more 5 star reviews than this one.

We are so happy to have found Malibu coast animal hospital. Staff is so incredibly friendly and warm, prompt, organized and professional. The facility is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. Not only is the care they provide our dog with a 12/10, but they are shockingly super affordable. Dr. Jordan is just the best vet ever - he takes such good care of our pup Luna. I'm not really one to write reviews, but seriously, we cannot recommend this place enough.

BEWARE OF MALIBU COAST ANIMAL HOSPITAL! Hideous treatment on all levels! My 12-year old Golden Retriever was brought in for an ultrasound -- the doctor didn't bother to take a full look at her and she was released back to me with him stating, "nothing is wrong"; however, she died from cancerous tumors(!) shortly afterwards! The veterinarian at an emergency hospital detected the tumors and she couldn't believe that the doctor performing the recent ultrasound didn't see any of the tumors -- and at the early stage they could've possibly been treated/removed! Unbelievably I returned with my new puppy because the location is locally convenient -- and I had another nightmare experience(!) where the "technician" who approached my car in their parking lot with her clipboard falsely claimed that I purposely threw a drink on her(!) when the fact was that my puppy was having a fit from being in the car and he bit into a cup of water that started gushing all over me and I hurriedly dumped it out my window and the technician stupidly thought that I was purposely trying to splash her -- she ran inside and another technician, Emily, came out and said, "If you don't leave we're calling the police!" I nearly fell over!
I started to cry -- I had a frustrated puppy on my hands and I'm being threatened and abused by the veterinary office! A witness in the parking lot was also aghast and she said compassionately to me from her vehicle with the window rolled down, "I'm so sorry that you were treated that way! Do you want my appointment so you can speak with the doctor?" I said, "She's calling the police because the water spilled from the cup!
I should've known better than to trust, Malibu Coast Animal Hospital, again as my last dog died due to their incompetence!" I'm now finally filing a report with the veterinary board and a civil suit!

Highest of marks. A month-and-a-half ago we were in the area picking up some food to go. We are from behind the hill in Calabasas. We were taking a charter flight out of Camarillo to work on a film in Atlanta Georgia. Had the dog with us and his nails were long it was a Saturday. We were kind of in a rush. Driven by here for years. I said you know what let me give it a shot and see if they'll do a quick nail trim. 30 minutes later and $35; we were done. They are so efficient so caring they did a curb side pick up with no appointment.

A beloved, older outdoor cat - a lovable scruffy curmudgeon - took a sudden turn for the worse. Turned out he was in last stages of cancer, but showed no signs until very near the end. We have many cats indoor and out, so we have regular vets, but they will not see "feral" cats, even though I assured them this old boy was not a biter or scratcher, just a curmudgeon. Desperate, we were referred to the Malibu Hospital by a neighbor. Well, turned out to be the best thing in the world.
They were friendly, professional, courteous, kind and caring. They gave us great advice, although the saddest of news that there was very little to be done but make him comfortable. Their compassion and professionalism was beyond anything we could have expected. If I could give them 6 STARS, I would.

Well i think they are very pleasant and polite. Prices are high but great helpfulness. I have all my dog needs there, but the other day my dog snuck out of the garage ended up taken by a neighbor there since they didn't know where to take her, i got a call 5 min later recognized from microship. They were so nice wouldn't accept tip

I only like doing yelp reviews for really deserving businesses. Malibu Coast is one of those. I live in Encino and take all four of my fur babies there. I come for the staff, but stay for Dr. Lisa! The warmth of everyone from the greeting to the check out is so genuine. Dr. Lisa is an anomaly and am so blessed to call her my vet. She goes above and beyond the call of duty for her four legged clients and and their two legged caregivers. Yes, things have changed since Covid came on the scene, but the pivot for Malibu Coast was seamless and feel that my babies are still in excellent hands and getting the care they need. I can't emphasize enough how wonderful Malibu Coast, along with Dr. Lisa and her wonderful ways of interacting with your fur babies is worth the drive.

Let me start by saying I never and I mean never write reviews. It's just not my thing but I feel compelled to write this review now and to be honest I probably should have written this a lot sooner. When i say run don't walk to this amazing hospital I mean it! I have a 20 year old chihuahua mix so I've been to quite a couple of vet clinics and hospitals and none of them compare to the way the doctors here treated my dog but mostly Dr. Julia she is the reason I write this review!
She has restored my faith in veterinary doctors. I have had multiple emergency visits and they have never once turned me down Dr. Julia has seen my dog on her lunch break. That's right on her freakin lunch break. That may not sounds like a lot to some people but you have to understand I've had clinics turn me away and tell me " I'm sorry We are closing and can't see your dog anymore but you might want to get him checked out asap because he can die" how do you turn down someone like that when you took an oath!?!? Anyways, Dr Julia is kind caring and very knowledgeable.
When my dog had her teeth extracted she would personally call me to tell me she had walked him or feed him. I was told once by a different doctor (different location) not to have my dogs teeth extracted because my dog was 15years old and she would probably die soon since she was older and I shouldn't put her through that. When I met Dr Julia she said while my dog was older I should consider giving her the best life I could even if it was only for a year.
I agreed and my dog is now 20 years old! My dog is alive because of an angel like Dr. Julia you can always tell when someone loves what they do and MY GOD DOES SHE LOVE WHAT SHE DOES! I can go on and on about what she has done for my dog but I would eventually run out of space lol. I don't think I'll ever find enough words to thank Dr Julia for the amount of love and care she has shown my dog.
But if she relocated to the middle of nowhere I would probably follow her just so my dog could have the high quality of care that only Dr. Julia provides. Period.! Travis and I are forever grateful for having you in our lives.

My daughter and her boyfriend took their kitten here for a basic neuter. At drop off there was some verbal consent, ZERO actual signatures (red flag) and a verbal quote of $290. She then got a call the procedure went well and he would be ready for pick up after 12pm. She went to pick him up and got told the balance was $375.07. She questioned the balance due and got a complete run around.
They agreed to blood work, anesthesia, IV catheter, and pain medications. There was an added charge for $80 (comprehensive diagnostic -abx) that was not consented for. However, honestly, there was no actual consent for ANYTHING given that there is nothing documented. Only verbal. We discussed the charges with the first girl, who couldn't answer much and ended up speaking to the manager.
That didn't go much better. She basically told her there was an email sent with the new quote, unopened I might add because who does business like that through email. From experience an actual phone call should be made to approve added charges, but she seemed to think this unopened email was sufficient. When questioned about signatures, the manager said Covid policy was that there were only verbal consents. Excuse me.how about a tablet and a digital signature then wipe it down?
We do it everyday in the hospital. She didn't really give an answer except that it was Covid policy. Seems like a legal issue to me. Not to mention the overcharging without client agreement. To make matters worse, they charged a card that was previously used for another kitten neuter (oddly enough they paid a fraction of the price for the same procedure same vet).
A card that he specifically said do not keep on file after the last procedure. Also a red flag. As a beloved pet owner, do your research and read reviews. If it feels questionable, it probably is. Question everything and get a legit answer.

We have been taking Gatsby since he was a pup to this vet. He is a little over two years old now. We have gotten his vaccinations, neutered, and gastropexy surgery. There techniques and approach are progressive which helped Gatsby recover quicker. I highly recommend this place to anyone. We absolutely love all the vets here and it is apparent that her does too. He never hesitates when they take him away to a checkup or procedure.

I took my puppy here for the first time to Dr Jordan for routine vaccines. They INJECTED HIM WITH A VACCINE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ADMINISTERED ORALLY. Then they had to inject him with fluids and antibiotics and could not continue with the vaccines they were supposed to give him. Now my poor puppy is shaking, vomiting, drooling and lethargic. I hope he will be okay.

DR. Lisa was my dog primary vet for three years. My dog was a very healthy senior dog until she was diagnosed with dementia in September DR's prescribed for my dog as fallow: DR Lisa (Phenylpropanolamine 25mg, Trazodone 50mg) DR Julia, (Gabapentin 100mg) Dr. Sheila (Selegiline 5mg and Cytopoint 20mg) my dog took all those medications. A month later she was wearing diapers, and her condition got words.
The day my dog passed away a contacted the Malibu hospital several times trying since early morning to get hold of DR Lisa or any of the DR's available since my dog was not doing well, any of the vets at the Malibu Coast Animal Hospital returned my calls. I decided to take my dog to the nearest vet office where she passed away. Towards the end of the day, I got a call from DR Lisa I told her that my dog had passed away she was very insensitive she replied to me "When its time is, it was clear that it was his time" my dog was a female, not a male, she talked to me like she did not even know who my dog was.
If you are looking for a vet that will honestly care for your pet and voice for those who can't speak for themselves, look somewhere else. I don't recommend the Malibu Coast Animal Hospital to any pet owner.

I have two horrid experiences with w/Dr. Jordan. Do not take your animals here unless you like paying for unnecessary pills and tests for animals that show no symptoms! 2 years in a row I took my animal in for a nail clipping and left with bills around and over $300 for no reason at all! Either he is poorly trained or is he a con-artist. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!

It's an emergency and your pet is bleeding from his butthole and they tell you over the phone it's $95 for an emergency appointment. You get there and they're making you wait for an HOUR while the doctor and the nurses are walking in and out of the front door either chatting it up for 10+ minutes with other customers outside or walking what looks like perfectly healthy dogs. MY DOG WAS BLEEDING OUT OF HIS BUTT ALL OVER THE FLOOR AND THEY MADE ME WAIT AN HOUR LETTING ME KNOW "sorry we're a little busy right now." I have always loved this place until today. They don't care about you or your pet. DO NOT GO HERE

Cannot say enough great things about MCAH and Dr. Dean. We brought our sweet puppy, Papaya, in to get spayed, and they took the best care of her. They updated us during every step of the process. While she was under they were able to remove a few of her baby teeth that had yet to fall out, and Dr. Dean even saved them in a little vial for us. Recently I called in about advice for our dog's anxiety over all of the holiday fireworks, and as we were out of state, Nick went above and beyond to call in a prescription for her at our local pharmacy. I've never experienced the level of attention and care we've received from MCAH.

This is my first yelp review and I'm sad to have to post it. We've been going to mcah for approximately 20 years, bringing over 10 dogs and a cat there during this time. We've had our animals undergo surgeries, euthanized, shots etc. we even boarded there as well. Obviously Covid has done a real number on the hospital, and while I take this into consideration I think that there needs to be big changes made.
Recently I called with an emergency situation for one of my dogs, asked if I could bring them in and wait to see a doctor. I was told that they would not see us, did not have any recommendations and told me to google a local vet who might help. Needless to say, this was the last straw for us. We did in fact find a local Doctor who was kind enough to take in our two dogs and cat as new patients and saw my ill dog right away.
We are now no longer customers of Malibu coast animal hospital. I hope they can figure out the situation so that other longtime clients don't have the same experience as we did.

The staff at Malibu Coast Animal Hospital are so caring. They helped with being able to enjoy an extra 1 1/2 years with Figaro. They did everything they could to help him get better. Once I knew it was time to say goodbye Dr Cecile made it as easy as possible. Thank you for being so compassionate Dr. Julia and Dr. Cecile and all the staff at MCAH.

I love Malibu Coast Animal Hospital. The doctors are amazing and have helped so many of the animals I've sent in. They are all kind and thorough and completely knowledgeable. I trust them 100% with any animal they see. Also, the front office staff rocks. Truly one of the best front office staff I have ever worked with at any vet. I have been doing animal rescue for a long time and of all the vet offices I have worked with, the front office girls her are the greatest.
They are all so sweet, and super helpful and very professional. I just wish they were closer to the city, but who doesn't love a beautiful drive along the coast!? I would give them 10 stars if I could!
